The article discusses semaphores and message queues, which are useful techniques for process synchronization generally, not restricted to realtime use. - freenadigg, on 11/27/2008, -0/+11Yes it does look fine, but when it comes to RT and events fast handling, I still prefer to avoid systems that handle files, videos, USB and Ethernet connections. I like it dirty, cheap and fast, that's why I still cling to micro controllers (PIC, ARM, H8Tiny, ATMEGA you name it) rather than embedded PCs. Yes I'm still a cave man.......

- TheWindBlows, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1regression in the realtime kernel apparently it only supports 1 core ubuntu studio developers suggested sticking to hardy if you have multi cores i'd imagine there are issues with more than that too.w I guess they still havent found how to fix it yet and are probably going to wait til jaunty putting all their planning and effort towards jaunty.
