- jayakamonty, on 11/07/2007, -0/+0Is this the beginning seed of Next-Gen mobile phones? The hardware has reached a point where new features are just gimmicks without real innovation and it's about time the software caught up. The mobile phone has the potential to be as important in the 21st Century as the PC was in the 20th. I especially like the 'open-source' nature of the OS and the applications; this should see a vast influx of applications. Not all of them will be useful and there will undoubtedly be a lot of dross but the cream will always rise to the top and I for one can't wait. My only and major concern is the cost. Mobile phone usage is expensive due to price-fixing and integration with companies such as Skype will help but I look at the iPhone cost model and fear for the average person. It's okay for the techies and early-tech-adopters to pay through their nose but I don't think Joe Public will stand for it.
