- chockster, on 06/02/2009, -1/+17"Mozilla does versioning in halves"
No, they don't. The next version was going to be 3.1 till a few weeks ago... - YouAreDead, on 06/02/2009, -1/+12its alpha
- Nouman6, on 06/02/2009, -0/+11I'm just looking forward to 3.5, then I'll worry about 3.6. Don't tease us anymore ;]
- Nouman6, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10you fail
- tadsexington69, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9I'm an incompetent boob that downloads viruses to my computer
IT MUST BE FIREFOX'S FAULT!!!!! - Midnitte, on 06/02/2009, -0/+83.6 alpha has been out for a while now, is this really any surprise?
- diggforworld, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9Of course and ***** the RIAA.
- KtoheE, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8only by comparison to firefox, netscape, opera, and chrome
- tuxerware, on 06/02/2009, -0/+7and lynx
- wwwluckyro, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7firefox, netscape, opera OR chrome. Any will do.
- DaigojiGai, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7Most likely, lol - but I love the codename : Namoroka, lol...
- dullnation, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7They probably are in some form...
- BoomShake007, on 06/02/2009, -1/+5Huzzah, keychain support!
- bbtrev, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4what a moron. "SAME ***** HAPPENS ON WINDOWS!" he says. Hmmm, could that maybe indicate a hardware issue....or maybe a moron user issue?
- KMartSheriff, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4My God, companies working ahead of development cycles? It's like they're thinking ahead or something.
- Induane, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3there is a QT version of firefox? I could have sworn it used XUL Runner for drawing interfaces :)
- ddfall, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3Correct, http://www.h-online.com/open/Mozilla-confirm-next- ...
- michaelra, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2At least it sounds better than Bing
- ethana2, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2It better use my gnome keyring.
..and the Qt version should use the KDE keyring too. The browser should NOT store passwords. - yathosho, on 06/02/2009, -5/+7let me guess, once the beta period is over they'll decide to rename it to 4.0 - they did it with 3.1 and they even did it before
- t0x2c, on 06/03/2009, -1/+3How does that make a difference? Alpha or not, there are not a ton of changes yet AND it's working fine. Both of my statements remain true.
- DrDanger, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2I have been using the 3.5pre for a while now and it seems steady. I use to get a crash every day or more, but now it has been at least a month since I had a crash. It looks like you can trust 3.5 to be out very soon.
- rif42, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Sad if they lose the Win 2000 support, I have a number of Win 2000 PCs that I support.
- 4321234, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Don't store important passwords in your browser. Bugmenot passwords....it's handy.
- ginchyman, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1Microsoft are almost certainly working on windows 8 already! Software is pretty much always developed like this. A branch for a certain set of features is created and developed on. But other features that are considered too bleeding edge or risky or would just take too long to develop test and debug get pushed to future versions.
A perfect example of this is the "list all tabs" (button at the end of the tab bar) feature in Firefox 3, that for a time showed all tabs in a handy overlaid window. I think there were a number of issues with that UI and user's expectations, so it was reverted back to the list for the Firefox 3 release and work continued on the 3.5 branch. - DeathfireD, on 08/02/2009, -0/+1Like I said it happens on any computer I install Firefox 3 on with or without add-ons. This thread is old so I don't know why your commenting on it now. Firefox 3.5 fixed the memory leak problems.
- rento, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2Codenames rule!
- yaosio, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1Development companies should always be working on their next product, if they don't they will get left behind. For example, Duke Nukem Forever.
- ddfall, on 06/02/2009, -3/+4This is rather old news... http://www.h-online.com/open/Firefox-next-Namoroka ...
Also looks like it may drop Win 2k support: http://www.h-online.com/open/Firefox-3-6-may-no-lo ... - ldavid, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Some of these new features look great. But I think I'll get more excited once FF 3.5 is released first.
- yaosio, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1You can download extensions that will give the list all tab feature anyway.
- DamonToo, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Namoroka backwards - A koro man
Koro you say?

If my balls get smaller trying this beta I'm gonna be pissed. - zeabu, on 08/02/2009, -0/+1although I agree, and I agree it sucks, it boils down to add-ons that are leaking.
- raynevandunem, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scope_creep
- polartb, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2I think they've completely misinterpreted the performance goals. If you look at the Firefox wiki they're talking about improving startup time and the other tasks by at least 50 ms, not trying to get it below 50 ms (which I doubt is achievable)
- tspchen, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2BEST browser ever!
- megawiz, on 06/02/2009, -2/+1exactly
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Namoroka - zeppo, on 06/02/2009, -2/+13.5 beta 5 isn't even out yet. Not to mention 3.5 RC1 & RC2.
- DeathfireD, on 06/02/2009, -2/+1Firefox is starting to suck with it's memory leaks though. Firefox 3 on any computer I install it on can easily consume over 500mb a ram after no more then an hour of being open. Most people I talk to notice this as well as excessive CPU use as well. I can only hope Firefox 3.5 fixes all these issues.
- romeyinfc, on 06/02/2009, -3/+1It's called scope creep
- xdevit, on 06/02/2009, -3/+1I have not looked into it.. but im so confused with how they are doing the version of Firefox.
Ive been running Minefield v3.6 for i think 3 months now.. - diggnidy, on 06/02/2009, -7/+2LOL Namoroka ZOMG
- wwwluckyro, on 06/02/2009, -8/+3Of course and ***** the RIAA.
/s - thesmallone29, on 06/02/2009, -7/+2how can they announce the development of 3.6 before even setting a release date for 3.5???
that would be like microsoft working on Windows 8 already.
please do post the release date if it is known! - PacoLugi, on 06/02/2009, -8/+1How bloated will this version be?
- t0x2c, on 06/02/2009, -9/+1Mozilla does versioning in halves, so yes, it will be 4.0.
