    • LocoMan, on 10/12/2007, -12/+8IIRC from religion class in high school (a loong time agi) back in the old testament times, when two tribes stopped a war or something like that, their leaders would take their bows and place them with the string on the ground (like a rainbow) as a sign of peace (a sign that they won't use their bows as weapons against each other anymore), so the raibow was supposed to be signal of peace from god to mankind.

      Consider that neither science nor religion will _ever_ explain why the universe exists. Science & religion can battle out the origin of life, the existence of an "afterlife", of a soul, etc... but neither can explain why the universe existed in the first place. "Big Bang" doesn't cut it, why was there matter to create the explosion in the first place? Neither does the existence of Divine Will, how did such a being come to exist? In THIS question, the atheist is as much an expert as the most devout of religious followers.

      It becomes increasingly clear: neither natural/universal patterns nor divinity can explain their own origins... without knowledge of true beginnings, how can one proclaim universal truth? Bashing religion for faith is as childish as it is illogical... believing science furnishes "truth" _is_ faith.

      Since you are probably unable to comprehend this due to small mindedness, I will give an example. Spontaneous Generation is the belief that life can be created spontaneously from objects not at all related. Such as placing a rag in a hay pile, leave it, you return days later and may find mice in the rag. Therefore, the religious man's logical thought pattern is to skip to the conclusion that the rag created the mice. He has left out steps in the logical thought process and arrived at a forced conclusion regardless of it's validity. He sees no wrong with this and will fight tooth and nail to defend it. The atheist thought process is obviously different. If you can come to the logical conclusion yourself you may have the ability to break your bonds.

    It did however inspire the best website ever, which is www.leekspin.com - so I suppose in the end it was worth something!

I remember this kid sent one of my friends who was photosensitive and she had a seizure. She would get back and forget about it and click the link again, causing another seizure. It was horrible. The site so reminds me of http://www.seizurerobots.com (don't click if you have this kind of epilepsy that I'm talking about).
