- Topher06, on 03/03/2008, -0/+2Please please please, stop this trend! This is worse then a popup and completely unecessary. First, if you make a web page that requires JS alerts as a form of feedback to the visitor, EPIC FAIL!!!!!!
Second, while MIcrosoft made this UI trick popular (or infamous more likely) with Vista, its annoying and tedious on a web page. You don't need to break out and cover the page just to tell the user that they input invalid data on a form or press the wrong button or whatever. Just highlight the form field, or show an icon or warning message on the page rather then requiring the user to have to do something more then necessary to recover from a mistake.
Stop this trend, congradulations on simulating Vista's annoying security popup, but move on. - horiyochi, on 03/03/2008, -0/+0That's the problem, the traditional alert is only good for notify user on error. By default we do not have any medium to send user a message, personally I do not like hear the annoying sound and halt all the process just to inform the user: "hey, you have saved your record!". For me I feel it's rude to do that, furthermore, this is to share with the people that having the same thoughts with me, and I think is a really good starting ground for those that wanted to get a feel on what Javascript can do...
By the way, thanks for the comment..
