I'm a personal fan of that story. - mcgrew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Lame. It's a plugin. Why not tell how to write the code?
- mooiness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Gawd you ppl are so elitist. Rgdless of the site that he used as an example, it's still a useful guide for those who want to know it.
- dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"Lame. It's a plugin. Why not tell how to write the code?"
Why do you think so much work has gone into creating the plugin system in Wordpress? So people don't HAVE to write code, you elitist geek *****. - saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't get it. I thought RSS is automatically installed for Wordpress. I mean, I just installed Wordpress on my site (http://www.smhacks.com) and I can subscribe with RSS with Sage.
- ShaolinTiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sayaknow: Yah Wordpress does come with RSS, meaning it PRODUCES RSS but it doesn't have a feature that allows you to syndicate other people's RSS or aggregate news on your site.
That's the point of this article, it shows you how to do that. - saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah, well in that case the title and description is very misleading.
- jpfinch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if you can support javascript, i find this the easiest way to display a feed
http://www.osu.edu/rss/build.php - z0rz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Umm, are you serious? Why would you use a plugin for a feature that's already built into WordPress? I've been using this in my sidebar on my main site to let visitors get a glimpse of my digg blog. Just edit the code and place this where ya want it (editing it accordingly):
And if you want to get hardcore about it go to your wordpress blog directory then /wp-includes/rss-functions.php and go to the very bottom and there is the php code on how it displays it's results.
Note this only works with WordPress 2.0.

http://z0rz.com - My Digg blog: http://z0rz.com/dblog - z0rz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dang the code was filtered.. I didn't even thing about it:
< ?
php include_once (ABSPATH . WPINC.'/rss-functions.php'); wp_rss('z0rz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Screw it here's a link: http://z0rz.com/blog/archives/37 - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, this is *built in* to WP 2.0. Just as z0rz says above, more or less, all you have to do is to replace the URL in his little code there with the RSS feed you want to pull from.
- ShaolinTiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0z0rz, a lot of people are still using 1.5.2 plus I find the built-in solution rather clumsy, if you want to mess with the prefix, postfix or seperator you have to start messing around with the code, which is fine for me and you, but is most definately not fine for most people.
Thanks for the info anyway :) - helzerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe I'm missing something but this plug-in seems a heck of a lot more complicated than simply linking to the RSS file that is already built into WP. I'm not digging lest some poor person try to use this thing. lol
- Sudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm. Digg Effect. The site is down now.
- wmcook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I found this page very useful for adding RSS feeds to my blog.
