- pemurray, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4As a long time powerbuilder user, I have been on the prowl for a codeless application technology suite for years. I have checked out a bunch of them, but I think the folks at IceBerg have hit the nail on the head. This web-based application dev tool has a clean and intutive user interface that allows you to whack out a pretty cool application in short order. It's abilty to combine business process and SOA makes this iceberg fun and cool.
- pamil, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3I think you're wrong, G-RaZoR. The site is absolutely beautiful, and the software... even I can make an application pretty fast and I have the technical skill of a sheep. What do you mean by saying that the interface is horrible?
- eam0n, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2I wholeheartedly endorse this product, service or event
- philbutler, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Iceberg is one of the most interesting and truly useful applications of Web 2.0. The guys there have created something that anyone can actually bypass coding with. Business applications are not really my thing but Iceberg is even capable of emulating such things as twitter and a user can make any kind of task oriented application. This is powerful stuff.
- G-RaZoR, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Wow, this is a very nice setup. I just wish they had a little better site to go with it. Everything looks nice, but the interface is absolutely horrible.
- Shimona, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I know absolutely nothing about programming, so this looks like a product that could help. Good job, congrats!
- fluidfoundation, on 04/29/2008, -1/+2Where's the fun in this?
- pragmatron, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Once again please dont forget to go to www.learniceberg.com/support to claim their free stuff for helping to spread the word about iceberg!
- mdev05, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Man.. I have been working on workflow systems for 2years now. Iceberg has got it absolutely right.
Great stuff guys... - jimmyreno, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1This looks pretty cool, I may not need to do that web development course after all...
- reeteshv, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I like the concept - the ability to focus on creating business-relevant solutions without getting bogged-down in technical nitty-gritties!
- Korayem, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Cool, it's running on ASP.NET!
- philbutler, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1This is totally different from all what you mention, especially because you can run applications on your own servers. Have you tested iceberg? I doubt it, or you wouldn't compare it with Zoho. Coghead is indeed decent, but longjump? Come on!
- radu1982, on 05/01/2008, -0/+1It seems to be an ingenious product, congratulations guys!
- melchizidech, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Iceberg has been in development as long as coghead and perhaps longer than longjump, the reason coghead launched first is because the application is so much more simple.
This article on venture beat should give a general overview of the difference between the two http://venturebeat.com/2008/05/07/icebergs-war-on- ...
But to really see the difference you will need to see some of the applications made in it. Iceberg doesn't compete on features, it just builds the applications that real businesses need. - pragmatron, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Just to clarify, a client recently remade zoho crm in Iceberg you could not do it the other way around. At the end of the day Iceberg speaks for itself in the value people get from it and the fact that most of our clients picked us after trying the other applications in the 'bucket'
- melchizidech, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1The link is actually http://venturebeat.com/2008/05/08/icebergs-war-on- ...
- andychims, on 09/25/2008, -0/+0This looks cool, anybody know of any side by side comparison of mashup tools - like pipes v. iceberg v. google mashup v. the thousand other things. I hate learning something and then switching to something new the next week!
- ionleader, on 06/05/2008, -1/+0actually I have and I am aware of the difference but people will compare this to Zoho it does fall into the same 'big bucket' - its naive to think otherwise.
- ionleader, on 05/06/2008, -2/+0some nice ideas but I prefer Zoho Creator, check it out, now has script editor which is very powerful http://creator.zoho.com/ also check out coghead and longjump before you decide to make a commitment with these guys, sure this space will get flooded with more soon but only the fittest will survive!
