  • whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1To me, the Holy Grail will be when you can get frequent crime data on Google Earth/Google Maps. I know some people have made mashups for specific cities. But it really needs to be widespread and easily available. I want to see at least all major cities providing their crime data in a Google Earth compatible format. This really shouldn't be too hard since they tend to already provide it, just in really crappy formats or text summaries.

    I had to do quite a bit of research, editing, graphing and plotting when buying a house. The data on the crimes was out there, but it was extremely hard to make usable. Unfortunately, not only are their technical stumbling blocks but also political ones.
