The direct link is: http://gecensus.stanford.edu/gcensus/ajax/gcensus.php
There are only three states listed. - rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I stand corrected.
Digg me down, I have shamed my family. - Sundyr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Substitute MySpace with Amazon and you have yourself a list...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This one was actually submitted more than 6 hours BEFORE the other one. It just took longer to get to the front page. Chances are, the other guy knew about this one.
- tuzziel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41. IS CENSORED (obviously)
- johnburk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is there a direct link to the data?
- SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There are plenty of free GIS options out there: http://www.osgeo.org/ List is on the right.
ESRI provides a very nice interface to access the Census Data: http://www.arcwebservices.com/awx/index.jsp - bmurph83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is great! I can see this being a great tool for High School or even middle school teachers, who are trying to get their hands on GIS to teach to the students, but can't spend the money on over-priced GIS software.

- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1To me, the Holy Grail will be when you can get frequent crime data on Google Earth/Google Maps. I know some people have made mashups for specific cities. But it really needs to be widespread and easily available. I want to see at least all major cities providing their crime data in a Google Earth compatible format. This really shouldn't be too hard since they tend to already provide it, just in really crappy formats or text summaries.
I had to do quite a bit of research, editing, graphing and plotting when buying a house. The data on the crimes was out there, but it was extremely hard to make usable. Unfortunately, not only are their technical stumbling blocks but also political ones. - trueimage, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is a sweet resource
