Digg (the company) *had* to abide by the request. It was akin to YouTube being asked to pull a video. No big deal, right? No one bitches and moans like a bunch of schoolyard brats. Someone just posts the video again. Even Digg understands that this is the way it works.
Listen, if Digg did not abide by the request and yanked the story, the company would face legal charges that would threaten their very existence. But because they did, the site we all loved and stood behind yesterday is still here, safe and sound, and we all have a place to waste our time.
