- Meursault, on 11/09/2008, -2/+62005 just called. Says it's very happy that people are still using the term Web 2.0. Then he started talking about Katrina again. Depressing *****. Had to fake an incoming call from 1997 to get him off.
- KragTheDigger, on 11/09/2008, -1/+5..so when you read 'Quake on Java kills thousand' your first thought is 'I knew it was going to be too slow on the SUN platform' ?
- laofmoonster, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2As long as I'm not banned from interwebz 2.0, I'm ok with that =)
- gunner453, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2that comment is so web 2.0
- CalmLlama, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2I would actually wonder about the size and temperature of the coffee pot.
- stockjones, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1I loathe the term "cloud" just as bad as "web 2.0". There was a time when this "cloud" thing was really just referred to as an "ASP". But I guess cloud is sexier. Techies and their acronyms.
- th3heretic, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1These comments suck.
- jonstafari, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1worst article. ever
- cenarta, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1We made the move from our own co-lo to Amazon EC2 months ago and couldn't be any happier. The rates are very competitive and reasonable and not ever having to spend another night on a datacenter floor .... priceless.
- byukid, on 11/09/2008, -2/+2This is the least interesting story i've ever seen with some of the longest comments I've ever seen.
- CalmLlama, on 11/09/2008, -9/+8For a second I was unsure why the amazon rain forest's clouds wouldn't be for people who adopt children early in the morning.
- peterinjapan, on 11/10/2008, -2/+1I am the owner of J-List, a popular site that sells stuff like Hello Kitty vibrators from Japan. Ahem. Anyway, we switched to S3 and it's saving us a ton of money on bandwidth for hosting our game downloads and images. Outages have been a small problem, with two of them in the past few months, but hopefully they'll get better at fixing them, and that's what our backup servers are for. The bandwidth costs have gone from $3000 a month at our old ISP to $400 or so a month. Yes, we're happy.
- Johnyp, on 11/10/2008, -2/+1another moron can't put a sentence together. Why submitters on digg can't even get the headline right
- hamobu, on 11/09/2008, -3/+1I think you could easily have an instance of Ubuntu server on Amazon cloud and then use it with remote desktop. That would be handy when you get banned from a discussion forum.
- eatsushi, on 11/09/2008, -4/+1I started using it with python and django. This is really really innovative technology for me when I build social networking sites.
