- rmxz, on 07/06/2009, -0/+15Pretty useless to just list them without pointing out the pros & cons.
Can anyone summarize which of these are good and which ones suck?
I hate the autocompleter that seem to have some messed-up time delay/race-conditiono where they lose the last few characters I typed. - smartnerd666, on 07/06/2009, -2/+10I'm such a fast typer that none of these ever help me
/s - UrsusMorologus, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4I hate auto-complete in searches, since it overrides the local firefox history auto-complete
- slippeh, on 07/06/2009, -1/+4I'm such a fast typer that none of these really help me too much. It really is faster to just type the whole word / phrase / sentence than to either navigate the mouse down to whichever option you need or to tab through

typing speed of like ~110 wpm on average - ayeroxor, on 07/06/2009, -9/+11Digg this comment if you're ***** tired of the "We're going to party total crazy!" and "We partied total crazy!" ***** on the homepage and every single other god damn page.
Just how ***** much money did they pay anyhow? IMHO, this ad campaign has crossed the line to annoyance and I won't be paying a dime to reward it.
To the invisible people behind the machine who might be thinking of punishing me for my insolence, this is called feedback. Ignore and stifle it at your (further) detriment. - svivian, on 07/07/2009, -1/+3I'm digging ayeroxor up because he's right, the message comes back on every page. Is it so hard to remember that I closed the ad?
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -1/+3AUTOCOMPLETE RAPES MY PRIVACY!
- 04TL, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2i used the nodstrum tutorial (the first one on that page) a while back on a site i'm still currently developing at work...slightly modified it to highlight and bold the characters you've entered in the auto-complete search results and it works beautifully.
- Forbizzle, on 07/07/2009, -1/+2I love how this article focuses on the front-end, when all the real heavy lifting is done by the back-end frameworks.
- ayeroxor, on 07/07/2009, -2/+3Until the next page load. They could have taken that as a clue that we've seen it, thanks, but no. They didn't.
Despite your ignorant sarcasm, I wouldn't have minded an ad that appeared until the user acknowledged it. That's a little pushy, but fine.
Too ***** pushy is when it reappears over and over despite the user acknowledging it an unlimited number of times. - brim4brim, on 07/07/2009, -1/+2Wow is anyone else amazed at the number of irrelevant off topic replies to this article.
I don't use auto-complete and was interested in seeing what would make a good one but since there is no comparison, how can I know?
The screenshots alone aren't enough. We don't even know what browsers each one supports properly. - stefanosh, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1Today, my boss called me into his office to show me the web site of a potential business partner. When he began to type 'virginia' into google, it auto-completed his search with his recent search for 'virgin boy *****'. I have to go on business trip with him tomorrow. I'm a young guy. FML
- Muffinthief, on 07/06/2009, -4/+4Adblock Plus man...
- imagesplace, on 07/15/2009, -0/+0well you may not need it but your users/client will benefit from them for sure.

- ayeroxor, on 07/07/2009, -2/+2which I use. It's not an external ad, genius. But thanks for practically duping the comment right above you.

- Rapter09, on 07/07/2009, -2/+1Clearly, you're more afraid of sharks than this economic climate.
- MillionsLivio, on 07/06/2009, -5/+3Yeah, ***** them for taking an area smaller than an Adsense ad to inform us of a video series that gives us normal users a chance to ask any questions we want to celebrities and politicians for free. They should totally stop raping us with that opportunity because that little image and two lines of text are a crime against humanity.
Seriously though, push the little X to the right of it and they're gone. - AnotherDiggGuy, on 07/06/2009, -7/+3.net, linq, and mysql become quite the powerful force when combined and used properly
