- IrishJoe, on 09/05/2008, -2/+10It is, but to claim that you saved your state 2.5 million by selling something on eBay (a very innovative strategy if it worked) when in fact that failed and you went the traditional route and lost $500,000 is deliberately misleading the American people on your accomplishments. I would have appreciated it if she had been truthful and said, I tried a new way to save the state money. While it didn't work, I think it shows I can think outside the box. I would have accepted that and I think most Americans would have. But by deceiving us, she shows herself to be another slimy politician who will tell us anything to be elected. That's not change, that's more of the same.
- kg37, on 09/05/2008, -4/+8What's with her pathological liar problem? I guess it's part of the whole Machiavellian persona she seems to have taken on.
Drill, media, drill deeper. Let's get all of the lies out into the open! - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -2/+6Uh, bigger fish that the GOP candidate for VP?
Bigger fish that the future of our country?
No. - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+5The Jet Broker was actually her campaign contributor which presents a problem, but it is a typical republican behavior.
- ancientshoes, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6at least she tried to sell it and get what money back for the taxpayer she could. my head is spinning how you could try to twist this into something bad.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4Believe the opposite of EVERYTHING these idiots say, and you will know the truth
- DeskFlyer, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3Found the original eBay ad:

Here it is on airliners.net:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Reynolds-Alaska-LLC ... - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+3Heads up,
I have some more info about the guy who bought the jet here:
http://aprn.org/2007/08/24/larry-reynolds-valdezs- ...
He seems to be involved in some sort of a real estate swindle in the city of Valdez
Valdez == Oil, The guy is an avid hunter and he lived in Texas for most of his life...
I am not making any accusations, but he may be very well connected to the GOP... - ralph123, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2You should tell that to McCain:
"You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on eBay -- and made a profit!" McCain declared in Wisconsin at a campaign stop on Friday.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09 ...
So, what are we to make of this?
Is McCain a liar or did he simply also fall for Palin's misleading story? - duncanm, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Well, well. What do ya know. She deceived us... and sooo quickly. How long did that take? One day? She really is Republican, isn't she? Do we really want another 8 years of deception like this??
- duncanm, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Actually... the story continues. If she didn't lie... then McCain sure did.

Oh, one more thing... I forgot to properly address you: IDIOT!! - kcpistol, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2We don't expect her to make a profit for a used jet. We expect her to not lie through her teeth.
- kcpistol, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2So it depends upon what the meaning of "is" is, huh? No sale.
- FemaCampBoy, on 09/06/2008, -2/+3it is amazing how far the obama cult goes to smear someone. she sold the plane.... got the money back for the tax payers. people? that is a good thing.... and depreciation is a normal thing. have any of you ever bought a car and sold it later on? put some miles on it.. and there is a very good chance you will not get back what you paid for it originally. am i typing slow enough for you obama cultists?
- niradg, on 09/06/2008, -2/+3Well, there's the fact that she straight-up lied about selling it on ebay. That's bad. And then there's the fact that the state took a huge loss.
- AKWookiee, on 09/06/2008, -2/+3Here's some additional insight on the effects of selling the jet:
http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/040808/sta_267 ...
Travel costs were cut by over $400,000 (2006 vs.2007)
You should also know that the jet wasn't paid off.
"the state makes quarterly payments on the jet of about $62,500, with much of that money going toward interest." - from http://dwb.adn.com/news/politics/story/9238727p-91 ...
It looks to me like she saved the state a boatload of money. - niradg, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1i'm pretty sure he's this guy: http://www.theworldaccordingtokang.com/wp-content/ ...
- ancientshoes, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1she didn't lie...she put it up on ebay and it didn't sell, that's not her fault
- n1eb, on 09/06/2008, -2/+2So you expect her to make a profit on a used jet? If they paid 2.6M for it and got 2.1M after using it, that doesn't really sound like a bad deal to me.
- FemaCampBoy, on 09/06/2008, -2/+2she didn't lie idiot. she said she put it on ebay... which is a fact. end of story.
- smith8917, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0She put her second jet up!
http://digg.com/politics/eBay_Auction_McCain_Palin ... - shupy, on 09/06/2008, -2/+2Money for the taxpayer??
Look at her record on taxes. In Wasilla she lowered taxes on business, raised taxes on individuals. The city had a surplus when she took over and is still digging itself out of debt. As for her "executive" experience, she was threatened with a recall election for her mis-handling of the city and hired a consultant to handle the administration to avoid it.
She looks out for her interests, and that isn't the average taxpayer. The folks in Alaska are starting to talk, and whay they are saying isn't pretty. The nickname of Barracuda is not a compliment. A Barracuda is a predator. - jongee, on 09/05/2008, -7/+6I'm no supporter of state power...but isn't depreciation a normal thing? And money in the pocket still better than an unneeded item?
- poprocksandsoda, on 09/06/2008, -3/+1And this means what? I'm confused. This has what to do with McCain vs Obama? Get a life you ***** losers.
- roydog316, on 09/05/2008, -9/+2We have bigger fish to fry.
Buried.
