Damn shame he's owned by the Military Corporates and Federal Reserve, eh?- gangafreak, on 04/29/2008, -39/+7I agree He could Have been such a great president if he wasnt already corrupt
- forgiste, on 04/29/2008, -6/+35You guys are ***** idiots. He's the only candidate that cares about eliminating special business interests in government, you're telling me he's a plant by the Federal Reserve? Show your work, please.
- masterm1nd, on 04/29/2008, -17/+5Where's your shown work -- the words of a politician?
- MacEnvy, on 04/29/2008, -1/+9That's still more than you've got to go on, masterm1nd. The burden of proof is on the accuser.
- masterm1nd, on 04/29/2008, -5/+1Woahh, I don't agree with either of the two arguments.
- MacEnvy, on 04/30/2008, -1/+5Ah, then I apologize. Devil's Advocate arguments are always welcome.
To answer your question, yes, the words of a politician. And his FCC filings. And his long history of doing more or less exactly what he says he'll do, both in Washington and Springfield. Even when I disagree with him (gun control), I have to admit that he's never been duplicitous about where he stands.
- MacEnvy, on 04/29/2008, -1/+9That's still more than you've got to go on, masterm1nd. The burden of proof is on the accuser.

fool.
- masterm1nd, on 04/29/2008, -17/+5Where's your shown work -- the words of a politician?
- consoneo, on 04/29/2008, -5/+7Proof? Both of you.
- lacreme, on 04/29/2008, -4/+12Hi my name is Wunder and I am a mindless sheep that doesn't do any research or critical thinking of my own.
- Deoliver47, on 04/29/2008, -7/+54God bless that 82 year old lady.
She's got the right idea. I hope Senator Obama gets a running mate with that kind of vision.- winnestow, on 04/29/2008, -18/+2operation chaos on hold for now.... obama is toast.... developing....

- kosmoX, on 04/30/2008, -2/+1I chose to go to my last day of class instead.
- Rhodamine, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5Me too! I went through an awful lot to get that ticket and it was SO worth it! I saw Hillary the day before and she was underwhelming. Skipping work for Obama's speech was the best use of sick leave I've ever spent!
- DDRSkata, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3I was there. I skipped the ***** out of my last World Cinema class to be there. I thought it was hilarious when she tried to pull the ol' switcharoo and kiss him on the lips when he kissed her on the cheek.
- kosmoX, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1If I would have had the chance to ask him those questions I posted on facebook, I would have been there in a heartbeat. Knowing that that would be a tiny chance, I ultimately decided that Intro to Religion would be more interesting than listening to him.
- DDRSkata, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1When you say "those questions on facebook," do you mean about the oil thing? Meaning that this is who I think it is? And did I know that already and just forget?
- kosmoX, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Hmmm well maybe you didn't know it was me...but you do now.

- InnerRayg, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4Pretty sure it's "support some other candidate", not "worship some other deity". Nobody thinks Obama is a God except the ones who oppose him.
- GreenMtnState, on 04/29/2008, -4/+17Looooove that lady. She's got it going on.

- borez, on 04/29/2008, -3/+27Does the person who recorded the sound for that video not understand the concept of keeping the levels out of the red to minimise mic distortion.
I couldn't actually watch the thing- sonstone, on 04/29/2008, -1/+8I know the feeling. It was a very difficult watch.
- snotrokit, on 04/29/2008, -1/+12you mean that banging the needles off of the right side of the board is a bad thing?
- musntSurfatWork, on 04/29/2008, -0/+7mine goes to eleven.
- sassip, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3Maybe it wasn't the original recording but the encoding for the web. It was terrible.
- meese, on 04/29/2008, -5/+27She's exactly right. Obama's strategy is the right one - we should engage in diplomacy rather than shooting everyone we don't like. And these days, with both Clinton and McCain happily talking about war with Iran, we can only hope there are more voters out there like her.
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -7/+2You are right, and so was Chamberlain when he entered into a peace a greement with Hitle - "Why would Hitler invade Poland? pssssh"
- jebudas, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Barack > Neville
- oldgal, on 04/29/2008, -0/+6Talking and agreeing are two different things. Just because you carry the big stick doesn't mean you have to use it every chance you get.
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -7/+2You are right, and so was Chamberlain when he entered into a peace a greement with Hitle - "Why would Hitler invade Poland? pssssh"
- insllvn, on 04/29/2008, -1/+8The video cuts away as Obama is talking about how climate change will impact us, causing more powerful hurricanes and devastating crops. It does not show his answer. Does anyone know if he answered the question? I specifically mean giving a single concrete plan he has to fight global climate change, as the women asked for.
- neognostic, on 04/29/2008, -4/+12http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/
- CannedMango, on 04/29/2008, -2/+11Actually, she asked a question about diminishing water supply, *not* on climate change... Obama made the connection between the two issues, so it may or may not have satisfied the woman who asked the question.
The worst offender of this I have ever seen was George Bush in the 2004 election. Every time he was asked about jobs, he would immediately say that jobs are connected to education and then blather on about some BS education proposals. John Kerry would actually answer the question and talk about how he would create *jobs*. There was one instance that I recall where Bush had the audacity to follow up John Kerry with more blathering about education being the key to more jobs (as if that is going to satisfy any sort of short term need whatsoever) and then accused Kerry of "not understanding the job-education" connection. Yes George, it's John Kerry who's confused because he doesn't understand this obscure self0invented talking point that you and your team have come up with. The result? Not too many new jobs under George Bush.
Obama's connection here is more relevant, but I fear he is at risk of making the same mistake as Bush and only having a solution for Climate Change and then just lumping the water supply concerns in with that without having a specific plan for any problems specifically linked to water supply.- chmcarro, on 04/29/2008, -1/+3I agree, answer the question. But how or why would the executive branch "create" jobs? I've never understood this concept.
- CannedMango, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2For whatever reason, that's the sort of thing people expect from their government. It's usually through reducing taxes on businesses or by altering regulations, but that's about it. Bush's answers to the question were downright mystifying.
- scottc, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Actually, it's the opposite. The government creates jobs through spending, not reducing regulations or taxes. If done right, spending is a good thing (i.e. on infrastructure that private business is unwilling to invest in) and it creates jobs. If done wrong, well, just look at the current administration. The only jobs they created were for their big donors who run military contracting companies.
- oldgal, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3Eisenhower initiated the insterstate highway system - as I recollect that created quite a few jobs. Bush's war in Iraq has created quite a few jobs. Kennedy's moon shot created jobs with technical spin-off that created lots and lots of jobs and a robust economy.
- chmcarro, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1These are government jobs, which I can understand, but I have heard in Obama and Clinton TV ads suggesting the availability of more jobs, targeted at the Midwest and small towns. How does that work?
- oldgal, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1the interstate highways were not all government jobs - many contractors were involved. The Iraq war involves many, many contractors in support roles, although NASA was government jobs as well as contractor jobs (JPL was a big player), the technology spin-off benefited private industry who took the technology and many, many jobs were created from it - the silliest being Tang, which was originally manufactured for the astronauts. There is lots of potential for public/private collaboration on alternative fuels, solar energy, nuclear fusion, and other technological solutions to current problems. Our public universities are also a source of new technologies, both independently and in collaboration with industry. The internet began as a Defense Department project - seems like it has generated a lot of non-governmental jobs. Once new technologies are successful, the economic spin-off in the private sector can be huge. Major infrastructure projects funded by government, but produced by private companies have always been a major source of fuel for the economic engine....e.g. electrification of rural America (key to communications), the highway system, the water system...etc...etc...
- CannedMango, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2For whatever reason, that's the sort of thing people expect from their government. It's usually through reducing taxes on businesses or by altering regulations, but that's about it. Bush's answers to the question were downright mystifying.
- Ajajadude, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2Well, they certainly can go hand-in-hand. If climate change makes a big enough impact on the planet, anything we do to shore up water supplies and be smarter about water usage will go to waste.
But, yeah, I can see where you're coming from.
- chmcarro, on 04/29/2008, -1/+3I agree, answer the question. But how or why would the executive branch "create" jobs? I've never understood this concept.
- DDRSkata, on 04/30/2008, -1/+1He went on for a good while about his plan. He definitely got to the heart of the issues at this rally, and even though I feel like there were a lot of soft questions, he handled himself.
- psnyder, on 04/29/2008, -3/+3Beautiful. Obama's right. She's fired up!
- proseandpromise, on 04/29/2008, -5/+14What I love about Obama is that when the new cycle and the blogs are bogged down in name calling, speculating, and calling for the apocalypse, a quick view of him talking about the potential of We the People getting fired up washes it all away. The biggest thing he needs to do in this campaign is to KEEP getting in front of the cameras interacting with the American people!
- renagadex2, on 04/29/2008, -9/+4Ha he said he gets high
- OfNumbers, on 04/30/2008, -1/+3And Bush rails coke.
- snotrokit, on 04/29/2008, -4/+9I really hope to the FSM, on January 21st, he is no longer a Senator from the State of IL.
- feenxfire, on 04/29/2008, -10/+4Out of the three contenders, Obama is by far the best choice; but I'm not sure anymore if he can win. Obama stories make me sad now. This country really sucks, sometimes.
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -7/+1Why is OPbama the best? because of all he has accomplished as a senator? because he has shown int he primary that he can lead his party and keep it together?
- InnerRayg, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Yes to the first. Pretty hard to proof the second until the primary is finished.
- jebudas, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1@feenxfire, dont believe the hype from the MSM. In a recent North Carolina poll, Obama leads Hillary by 51% to 37%. Clinton might win Indiana, but only by about 8%, and right now she needs to win every state by 30% to win the nomination. Obama will win the nomination, and hopefully be our next president.
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -7/+1Why is OPbama the best? because of all he has accomplished as a senator? because he has shown int he primary that he can lead his party and keep it together?

now doesn't that sound stupid? You are using the same logic you know that?

I mean, yes. I agree, side by side of the "big three" he shines out tremendously. - exomni, on 04/29/2008, -0/+12Dude, don't be sucked in by the FUD *****. Obama is electable. There's no reason to buy into FUD just because they tell you everyone will buy into FUD.
- morninglorii, on 04/29/2008, -3/+13I think she could legitimately be his running mate. She's about the same age as his opponent-to-be...

- ralphodog, on 04/29/2008, -15/+3I have filters for a reason. Please stop trying to push your Obamaspam though. I'm not interested in listening to these retards repeat the same crap over and over again.
- InnerRayg, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2Your filters aren't working very well obviously.
- digjam, on 04/29/2008, -7/+4FTA:
Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama, talking about his faith and patriotism at a campaign event in Wilmington, North Carolina, said that flag pin issue is being used to distract voters from real issues.
Asked about pundit attacks on his patriotism, Obama said, “When I hear people questioning my patriotism … when I see that being used to distract voters from those unpatriotic acts that are making it harder for the American people to live out the American Dream, that makes me angry. And that’s the kind of politics that we’re gonna change when I’m president of the United States of America.”
In a lighter moment, after some lively advice from 82-year-old Obama supporter Jean Weiss, Obama asked her in jest, “Would you be my running mate?”
This video is from CNN.com, broadcast April 28, 2008. (It dint work for me)
DIGG :249 REDITT:0 - JointVenture, on 04/29/2008, -20/+3Its OVER for obama, get over it.
48hrs ago he defended Wright, and today he threw him under the bus.
I almost fell sorry for you lost souls.- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -6/+1I am wondering who is the bigger tool - Rev. Wright fo going on his press junket or Obama for pandering in response to the allegations rasied by his relationshop with Rev. Wright.
Answer - BOTH ARE TOOLS!- Mejari, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4I agree, both you and JointVenture are tools!
- Rhodamine, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Don't "fell" sorry for me. Like him or not, he's got no control over Wright's grandstanding. Obama's trying hard to play as clean a game as possible on a nasty field. He's led a much more honest and forthright campaign than Hillary for sure. And as for McCain, he may be a war hero but he lacks the mental faculties to speak coherently, let alone run the worlds remaining superpower.
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -6/+1I am wondering who is the bigger tool - Rev. Wright fo going on his press junket or Obama for pandering in response to the allegations rasied by his relationshop with Rev. Wright.
- becknell, on 04/29/2008, -6/+6On the subject of water and the diminishing supply of drinkable water, here is Dean Kamen on a recent Colbert Report showing his water purification machine. I'm not sure why I haven't heard more about it:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5FKtvxU7c0 - NumNutz, on 04/29/2008, -10/+4obama had the nomination all wrapped up, but obama is done, there is no way he can win now....he has alienated too many people and the wright thing is making it worse.
- TaylorLee88, on 04/29/2008, -0/+2You obviously don't follow politics. Obama has more delegates, it's impossible for Hillary to catch up, and he even has the current popular vote. Don't forget that the delegates are the only thing that should matter. Obama is way ahead in the upcoming states, and it is virtually inevitable that he is the democratic candidate. He is consistently defeating McCain and Clinton in the polls, and all the statistics show this will be a democratic year; you can't neglect the fact that he is able to do all of this while focusing on Hillary and McCain simultaneously - giving McCain a free-ride currently. Now his acceptance will even go up more considering he has finally spoken out against Rev. Wright and will be able to build some momentum with the upcoming states to persuade Supers.
- fsjenkins2000, on 04/29/2008, -11/+3Buried as Political Propaganda
- eth3l, on 04/29/2008, -7/+3One thing is for sure, Obama is a leader! Just look at the way he equivocated on his relationship with Rev. Wright! Either Wright's speech was setup by Obama so he could come out strongly against it; or Obama equivocated in response to the earlier comments. Also, what a way to lead the party to a clear nominee! He sure showed his leadership skill when confronted by Hillary! Way to keep the party united!!!!!
- SPThom, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3The article sucks but the video is great... be sure to watch.
- Billions, on 04/29/2008, -2/+6McCain is supporting Obama now?
- insanebrain, on 04/29/2008, -1/+1wait . .WHAT ?
- Nidy1, on 04/29/2008, -0/+8I feel ashamed that the question after the woman's question (about faith and his favorite scripture) really annoys me. I am tolerant of all faiths but as an atheist it really annoys me that an atheist would never be elected in this country.
- InnerRayg, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3It's alright, with Obama's multicultural experience I tend to believe he would be accepting of your non-believe as much as a non-believer would-he's seen too much of different ways people work to not be able to accept you.
- Idiggapony, on 04/29/2008, -7/+3Hi everyone, just a polite request: could y'all please remember to put the Obamaspam in the "2008 U.S. Elections" category, rather than "Political News"? Thanks!
- samby, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I gave up on the video after waiting five minutes for it to load. Why people don't just upload the video to youtube and provide a link to it is beyond me.
- Aufverdsing, on 04/29/2008, -2/+2I like how he talked about being fired up to stall, and then talked about global warming and hurricanes instead of how he is going to address the issues concerning drinking water.
- InnerRayg, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2He answered it, the video simply cut off said answer.
- marsbeyond, on 04/29/2008, -6/+2As a Ron Paul supporter I have to point out that green government jobs cannot end the current recession. Socialism is not the answer, it is the problem. We need less taxes. In biblical times, a 30% tax rate was high enough to start wars. I like Obama as a person, but electing any democrat, or any socialist is simply going to lead to greater economic ruin in this country. Socialized health care is a disaster too. The only thing that might save this country is going back on a gold standard. Prices for fuel have not gone up in Europe. Inflation is what has caused gas prices to spike 20% in this country. We need a plan to pull all our troops back from ALL overseas deployments. We can each, individually end our personal oil addiction by our own actions. My choice was to buy an electric bicycle for five hundred bucks. I would ride the bus more often if it went where I wanted to go, when I wanted to go there. I think it sucks that I have to buy a card that is good for a month instead of just being able to pay as I go. We need to make our entire federal government smaller, not bigger. We need government to be local not federal. What has the federal department of education done to educate my children? That would be my first federal department to be chopped.
- westerner22, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3Obama is as far from socialim as one can be. I grew up in a socialist country - the prsent goverment is becoming like it was there as far as freedoms go. Many of your suggestions still fit in Obama's program. I use public transport.
- scottc, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2"Socialism is not the answer" Nearly everyone in the country agrees with you - which is why none of the candidates propose anything close to socialism. Thankfully none want to go back to 1930's economics, either. I agree with you about the troops, though.

http://wjz.com/video/?id=38218@wjz.dayport.com- DDRSkata, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2The only question I have, because my computer is being weird, is, "Are there any shots of the crowd on there?" Because I want to see how my mohawk looked on TV.
- crimsonalucard, on 04/29/2008, -2/+0Ok so I'm still waiting to hear what the hell he's going to do about the water crisis. If you cut through all the motivational rhetoric Obama utterly failed to answer this question and went on rambling about global warming.... a seperate issue that has little to do with the water crisis.
I support Obama over Hillary but if you diggers can be objective for one second you'll see that this whole ***** video was just ***** politics as usual.- thatguy, on 04/30/2008, -0/+3The woman firing up the crowd is the focus, not the question. I agree the answer is not that good, but there isn't any good answers out there.
- mcsenget, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1for the love of god, can we get some more water over here?? the price of water is going through the roof!
global warming...
all of the important issues... - peterapokotos, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I am an Obama supporter. But did he actually answer the question or was he just giving the highlights of the Day After Tomorrow?
- vanguardanon, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2I was more impressed with his talk about trade agreements that hurt America than I was with the fact that an older lady liked him. As for running out of water, it's really not an issue that concerns me. I'm not convinced that a warmer climate will lead to less rain.
- crazyjake, on 04/30/2008, -0/+0old people are awesome! a bit scary..... but awesome.
- pettdog78, on 04/30/2008, -2/+1She seems abit senile... She says she has a question then rambles on for five minutes, then finally when she asks her question it's "Where's all the water going?"... Probably stood staring at her faucet for hours trying to figure out who'd been stealing it all... Think I'll go run the faucet for an hour now...
- idaniel, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2That put the biggest smile on my face.
- TheGrandMufti, on 04/30/2008, -2/+2Obama is toast. Rev Wright is the gift that keeps on giving.
- DDRSkata, on 04/30/2008, -1/+2He kissed her on the cheek and she tried to kiss him on the lips. I laughed pretty hard about that. I wish he'd called on me to ask a question, though. He kept looking over at my mohawk while he was speaking, haha.
- yellownumber5, on 04/30/2008, -2/+1I already found Obama/Weiss '08 t-shirts and stickers here
