- janeuner, on 11/30/2007, -3/+106Crowd booed. I LOL'd.
- seks03, on 11/30/2007, -10/+106its great to see that McCant have to Attack Paul to get some points instead of the other way around, Ron Paul is truly a top Teir candidate
- rudyghouliani, on 11/30/2007, -7/+69It's time for Mccain to drop out of the race, he is totally sounding retarded. Now that the new Australian Prime Minister has straight away called for the return of Australian troops from Iraq, calling it the biggest mistake in Australian military history since Vietnam,, Bush's (and Mccains) coalition of the killing in Iraq is now reduced to the USA, Mongolia and Romania. Time to get lost Mccain you loser!
- sockpuppets, on 11/30/2007, -13/+65Am I the only one wondering how many nuts John McCain can store in those chipmunk cheeks of his?
- dagnabbit, on 11/30/2007, -2/+52Unfortunately there were a lot of cheers as well, as the commenter above points out. McCain certainly has an honorable position against torture, but he's afraid to actually stand up and act beyond rhetoric to do anything about it. He didn't vote against Mukasey (or at all), and refused to say that the Attorney General should denounce waterboarding as torture. Pathetic, Mr. McCain.
- someguyouknow, on 11/30/2007, -8/+53I found it hilarious when McCain talked about Isolationism was the reason why Hitler came to power. Ron Paul just nodded his head no with a grin on his face. Of course the media said that McCain won that little spat though. Pretty predictable what they will say now.
They don't seem to take Ron Paul serious. A lot of times when he is talking, you can see the others laughing, smiling or facially showing their disapproval. - bratpack8, on 11/30/2007, -4/+44Paul needs to send McCain some books, ala Rudy's reading assignment. You know, books from 8th grade history that talk about our involvement in WWI and the Treaty of Versailles being the true reasons behind Hitler's rise to power and WWII.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -3/+30In all fairness to him, I'm really glad that Senator McCain chose to speak out against Romney on the torture issue during the debate. That's something he has firsthand experience with, and I'm glad to see at least one of them taking a strong flat stance against it beside Congressman Paul.
That said, I thought his remark toward Paul about Hitler and isolationism was way out of line. Paul isn't an isolationist, and there is a clear difference between isolationist policy and the constant dance of bombing down and building up foreign nations under our own military thumb and on our tax dollar. - JJ2K1, on 11/30/2007, -8/+32McCain doesn't give a rats ass about the troops. This being taken from an Army soldier that was there guarding McCain's ass when he went to Iraq over the summer. Treat the soldiers like ***** and don't aknowledge them until the cameras turn on, then act like you're best friends and you're grateful.
- lydecker, on 11/30/2007, -8/+29There are no spammers. Just that many supporters.
- whatthefu, on 11/30/2007, -23/+43Yeah McCain is totally worse than Kim Jong Il or Mugabe. Totally.
- Jorge777, on 11/30/2007, -1/+18The silliest thing he said all night was when he tried to speak for our troops and (this is where my jaw dropped) he invoked the Vietnam card saying "We never lost a battle in Vietnam." It was just so open to flaws that I wondered what was going through his head, before Ron Paul could throw a quote back I was already wondering "And that mattered how?" If anything it served to back up a point that Paul had made much earlier about how if we have to go to war we have to declare it, go in, and win as quickly as possible. We've ousted Hussein but there's no winning an occupation. McCain's logic is verging towards earning truly him the warmongerer tag that I was using to exaggerating how bad McCain was.
- Ub3rg33k, on 11/30/2007, -2/+19That was the title given to him by Olbermann, not the submitter of the article. Check out the link THEN comment. Try it sometime.
- xTRUMANx, on 11/30/2007, -14/+30Yup, I totally agree with you, he is worse. I dugg you up and choose to ignore the sarcasm and turn this around on you.
- DJCult, on 11/30/2007, -1/+17Ahm, it sounds like a lot more than that were booing...
- Sangatious, on 11/30/2007, -6/+21McCain today, McGone tomorrow
- bustachops, on 11/30/2007, -0/+13Godwin's law strikes again!!
- Dissonance, on 11/30/2007, -1/+14To be fair though, there were more than a few moments in that debate where the crowd boo'd. However, invoking Hitler's name to make a point is still manipulative and lazy, appealing to emotions rather than reason.
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 11/30/2007, -1/+14No, it is content relating to the 2008 elections. It is in the right section.
- segfaultxr7, on 11/30/2007, -1/+13Not only that, but Hitler's rise to power was largely because of the sanctions imposed upon Germany after WWI. If outside forces didn't destroy the German economy and attempt to cripple its military, Hitler/WWII might have been avoided altogether.
- cranium, on 11/30/2007, -2/+14McCain was being simplistic, stupid and wrong about the cause of WWII. Get over it.
- PeppermintPig, on 11/30/2007, -1/+12His restraint is admirable. Yet he should bring up more poignant points about the causation of these wars than to discuss meetings of generals after the fact. If I were in his shoes, I would have pointed out that the US WAS involved in WWI, and reminded them about a little thing called the treaty of versailles.
- cranium, on 11/30/2007, -1/+12McCain is a sell-out in just about every other way imaginable. He's running on his Vietnam record, essentially the same thing Kerry did.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+11He stopped being the maverick candidate a long time ago.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+13I don't think the segment is meant to be taken that literally.
- kaiwai, on 11/30/2007, -0/+10One could also argue that due to the nature of the treaty of Versailles it created the sorts of conditions which spurred on the popularity of Hitler. When a country is down on its luck due to harsh reparations and restrictions - anyone surprised a charismatic leader such as HItler rose to fill that role of 'saviour of the father land'?
- rudyghouliani, on 11/30/2007, -2/+12He deserves respect because he was a POW? Another 3 Americans were killed yesterday because MCcain wants to continue this ILLEGAL war, yes it is illegal all based on lies. 4000 dead service personel because of LIES. You want me to respect that piece of crap? We should not be in Iraq, it is a war soley for oil theft. If the politicians were not sold out to the Oil and Military industries there would be 4000 young people still alive today and a million Iraqi's. Please don't ever tell me I have to respect someone that thinks he has a right to kill innocent people so he can become President!
- Trublmakr, on 11/30/2007, -1/+11It's a shame really,.. McCain used to be such a thoughtful and rational guy,. at one point he was a real PITA for Bush and stung him with a lot of intelligent criticism. He''s fallen a long way and really caved on some iimportant philosophies. The Ron Paul attack made me wonder if some imposer had turned the real McCain into an ill-fitting skin suit.
- cryptomystic, on 11/30/2007, -4/+13How can mcCain stand there and speak for all the troops in Iraq by saying they want to stay there when that could not be any further from the truth?
Olberman hit ther nail on head with this one, McCain is a disgrace. - bjornski, on 11/30/2007, -0/+9I still just laugh when I see your name.
- nblsavage, on 11/30/2007, -1/+10and my neighbor's retarded pit bull is a better presidential candidate than Rudy.
- brownr21, on 11/30/2007, -5/+13Mccain used to be decent, but now he's a total Steve Jobs. You can't sell a pity image when you're a prick, Mccain.
- FriskDown, on 11/30/2007, -4/+1241 roasted almonds.
- liltekgurl, on 11/30/2007, -0/+8I like watching these debates now, I can tell who totally kisses a$$ to the American people..here's a hint, don't kiss our ass - tell us like it is...if our administration did something dumb, tell us - we can handle the truth they effed up. But your sound bytes Mr. McCain are so lame....everytime I watch him I just think to myself - you are SO full of it...
- Devotia, on 11/30/2007, -3/+11Ron Paul supporters are generally younger, and have no land lines. That's a huge reason as to why they're not showing up on the big pollsters radar. His actual level of support is likely somewhere between the larger pollsters and the smaller ones that Paul tends to dominate. Meaning, he's not the frontrunner but he's not a non-issue.
And as far as Perot not being able to win; Perot actually had a good chance at winning until he dropped out. - truebullfan, on 11/30/2007, -1/+9here's the clip http://youtube.com/republicandebate#qa_AZOI3qk-IMs judge for yourself. To me it seems you here boos w/ cheers.
- satanatnmtedu, on 11/30/2007, -0/+8Explain to me how McCain survived torture for our country. McCain surviving torture did not help win the war or make anyone safer. It was an impressive feat, but it had no real impact on global politics or the Vietnam War. Further, is it now true that you can only be a patriot if you served in the military? I am shocked that you claim to be a Democrat because this is the rhetoric of extreme conservatives.
- cryptomystic, on 11/30/2007, -6/+14The NeoCon's are out in force today on Digg, they must be feeling the heat from that debacle on Wednesday night.
- cranium, on 11/30/2007, -7/+15No, he decidedly does NOT support torture.
- 4bit, on 11/30/2007, -6/+13Everyone mentioning HItler, Stalin, Ivan, McVey, Dahlmer, Bundy, Bin Laden, Sadam, Bush?, Geene, My 11th Grade English Teacher, that guy on the corner who keeps trying to hump my dog, etc.
A) Most of these people aren't in the world any more are they?
B) At a certain point they just retire your number. YOu don't get to run anymore.
C) It's just for today. You know, it's a 'news' show.
So, get a new joke. Clear? - Wargalas, on 11/30/2007, -2/+9The fact that you don't know of a person who's worse then Bush is why you're being dugg down. And it's also the reason why you'll always have a menial job because your comprehension skills are at zero.
- oldhick, on 11/30/2007, -0/+7Yeah, because the EXACT cause of WWII is really just a book away. People can debate the TRUE cause of WWII all you want. As a Ron Paul supporter I think we should stay out of Iran and other countries. However, McCain has a point, its just not relevant yet. If the Allies had acted against Hitler when he invaded Poland, who knows. Iran simply isn't the threat that Germany was then.
- Euph0rik, on 11/30/2007, -0/+7Manchurian Candidate, baby. I agree, McCain used to stand for his principles, but these days he's just a tool, going along whith whatever BushCo dictates.
- Michael9636, on 08/04/2008, -2/+9McCain has become a pathetic caricature of his former self. It is embarrassing to watch him talk about Iraq. So sad. He needs to drop out - now.
- bjornski, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6Read up on his voting record and see if you still feel that way.

- mbgalvin, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6It is a facetious recurring segment. Lighten up.
- Goldbricker, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6Mongolia and Romania....
