- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6Keep in mind John McCain was for taking out Saddam before George W. Bush even became president and, he's been for going to war with Iran for almost as long.
- goodnrg, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3When a right-winger like Pat Buchanan says that McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi" that says a lot!
- rockdawg, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Not to forget that he also said in multiple interviews that he's willing to let the wars we're in last a hundred years if they have to. I'm actually still surprised that he claims "straight talk" and is still a serious Presidential Candidate.
- dusty1215, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Weathervane McCain will only be elected if there is another terrorist bombing on US soil..otherwise, its all about the Economy.
dugg! ;) - Kangalanatolian, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1That's OK, I understand. Please also try to relate to the idea of keeping precise details about all the things we read. What I do remember is the last time it was proposed was early last year by a democratic congressman (I think it was Rangel, or somebody from NY). It was in no danger of passing, and MAY simply have been an attempt to highlight the war.
War has NOT traditionally been republican policy. If that has really changed, then the party will split. - Kangalanatolian, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1I am unable to defend John McCain. However the draft has been repeatedly and fairly recently proposed by Democrats. War IS the ultimate social program.
