- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -7/+151in 2005, she voted yes on making the patriot act permanent.
she authored hr 1955 and voted for fisa.
she's also pro-amnesty, supports the military in recruiting on college campuses, is against making the income tax flat, lower, or abolished, and voted yes for net neutrality.
why hasn't this cretin been voted out yet? - EndIsraelRacism, on 04/20/2009, -8/+137AIPAC is unAmerican and should be prosecuted for trying to corrupt and influence OUR government on behalf of a foreign state.
- jordanv1, on 04/20/2009, -3/+110This is honestly the craziest thing I've heard in a long time. Let's go over the sequence of events here:
So she was overheard, thanks to an NSA wiretap, talking to an Israeli agent, promising to help reduce sentences of two AIPAC (ahh, AIPAC) officials suspected of espionage in exchange for lobbying help to help obtain a leadership position in the House.
The feds moved to open a giant investigation on her, but were stopped by Alberto Gonzales. The reason? So that she could publicly defend the NSA wiretapping program that the NYT was about to blow the lid on. So she ended up, inadvertently or otherwise (and for her sake I hope it's inadvertently), defending the program that likely was responsible for her recorded conversation in the first place.
And in the end the two AIPAC officials were charged anyway, and she didn't get her leadership position.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you democracy. - richmomz, on 04/20/2009, -6/+112If anyone still thinks that the entrenched Israeli/AIPAC lobby in our government isn't a problem, they need to wake the ***** up!
- sahyder1, on 04/20/2009, -4/+100Am I reading this right? AG Gonzalez shut down an espionage investigation in exchange for support?
- jleopold, on 04/20/2009, -6/+85Holy Crap!! This is a BOMBSHELL!
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -3/+71I have NO respect at all for Harman. She was behind the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act!
- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -1/+63yes.
- RonPauls, on 04/20/2009, -16/+72Ron Paul in 1992: "by far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government."
just listen to the good doctor, he will point the way

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWLBhgTQ46o Nancy Pelosi doing Israel's bidding
But don't worry: Obama has AIPAC's support... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cOJNC2EuJw
Obama on AIPAC:
"I will ensure that Israel can defend itself from any threat — from Gaza to Tehran. Defense cooperation between the United States and Israel is a model of success, and must be deepened. As president, I will implement a Memorandum of Understanding that provides $30 billion in assistance to Israel over the next decade — investments to Israel's security that will not be tied to any other nation. First, we must approve the foreign aid request for 2009. Going forward, we can enhance our cooperation on missile defense. We should export military equipment to our ally Israel under the same guidelines as NATO. And I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself in the United Nations and around the world." - jimbabb, on 04/20/2009, -3/+59Keep in mind that AIPAC is a tool of the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Complex.
Congress steal money from Americans.
They give it to Israel on the condition that it buys American weapons.
Lockheed Martin, Ratheon etc, get big contracts.
Those companies then bribe Congress.
Repeat until America is bankrupt. - curtisag, on 04/20/2009, -11/+65She lives in California and has a (D) next to her name. That's just how they roll in Cali.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -3/+56I'm not surprised Harman's corrupt, but I'm shocked that the Bush admin would have actually investigated spying by Israel. Saying obvious things like "Israel spies on America sometimes, and that's not in our interest" has gotten me called an antisemite in the past.
- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -7/+55i'm sure that the msm will be all over this...right?
- jimbabb, on 04/20/2009, -4/+48It's bad enough that a US Congressman would work to protect AIPAC's criminal behavior. That's hardly news. The interesting part is the payment for the service. Evidently, AIPAC is influential enough to have a say in Pelosi's committee chair assignments.
Having the government busted by spying on itself is also amusing. - kemp34, on 04/20/2009, -4/+48That's some scandalous ***** right there.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -11/+54Why the NSA was tapping Jane Harman in the first place is very important and needs to be investigated. The fact that she was doing AIPAC’s bidding is, to this Jewish American, INFURIATING. But, what’s the worst part about this entire affair as far as I’m concerned is this:
Jane Harman helped George W. Bush win reelection by convincing the NY Times to hold their domestic wiretapping story in 2004.
How different would things be if Bush didn’t get a second term? How many pieces of horrible legislation would have not come to pass? Bush’s second term and all that followed is on Jane Harman’s head.
For that alone, she should be forced out of Congress. For that alone, I hope she goes to jail. And, I don’t care of the NSA went after her illegally just to gain something over her. It’s the Jane Harmans & Diane Feinsteins and Jay Rockefellers of Congress that have helped destroy everything this country has stood for.
Jane Harman helped George W. Bush win reelection - InetRoadkill, on 04/20/2009, -2/+44Absolutely. They should be declared foreign agents and a high-level security risk.
- chesterogilvie, on 04/20/2009, -4/+44Uh oh - now you're an anti-Semitic right wing militant!
- MickGyver, on 04/20/2009, -2/+41why hasn't this cretin been voted out yet?
Uh... she has the help of AIPAC maybe? - RonPauls, on 04/20/2009, -10/+49She's rich. I thought democrats hated rich people...
- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -12/+48her and her good buddy pelosi - damn you, cali!
- Aooogah, on 04/20/2009, -1/+33I live in the district she represents and I can tell you most of the people in the area are not very intelligent.
- rmxz, on 04/20/2009, -3/+35"why hasn't this cretin been voted out yet?"
Because she has the support of AIPAC. - sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -17/+49no...they can be rich, but we can't - they need to take what we have and spread it around to better us all, but they can only do that from the comfort of their private jets, luxury vehicles, and mcmansions. it's for our own good, really - they're great at business, economics, and banking...
- kemp34, on 04/20/2009, -3/+35I think American individuals from all political persuasions can agree that the bipartisan ***** described in this article is quite disturbing and bordering on outright treasonous.
- Erich100, on 04/20/2009, -1/+31More like a nuclear weapon that fails to detonate.
- nates, on 04/20/2009, -1/+31Isn't this the basic definition of a "Foreign Agent" ? I mean, secretly intervening on behalf of a foreign power? This seems like a Bad Thing.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -1/+30You mean the same AIPAC that railroaded Obama's nominee for DNI, Charles Freeman, because he wasn't pro-Israeli enough? I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -1/+29Talking about Israeli influence on US government is verboten. This will get short shrift on the regular news channels.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -2/+29Dude, they are BOTH guilty!
And they both should be investigated and prosecuted. - inactive, on 04/20/2009, -4/+30Term Limits.
A lot of this stuff would go away with Term Limits. - dissolutionman, on 04/20/2009, -0/+26Hey, we tried to primary her out, but she's just got way too much money.
- RonPauls, on 04/20/2009, -7/+33Anybody see that "State of Play" movie/British series?
This is even more complicated and dastardly.
Even more evidence that both parties are basically the same. - inactive, on 04/20/2009, -4/+30I'd be astounded to see ANYthing about this on TV, even Fox "News."
- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -3/+28exactly...and whenever something like this breaks, i can't help but wonder about the things that we don't hear about - if they let this leak, what kind of insanity are they keeping under wraps?
- greendalek, on 04/20/2009, -2/+26Unsurprising, to say the least. And yet... wake me when CBS or CNN or Fox decide to run with this as a top story.
- sheeplescareme, on 04/20/2009, -6/+30oddly, fox was the only one that gave any coverage to israel and the 9/11 connection...
- dalittle, on 04/20/2009, -1/+25Treason. Why not call this what it is?
Rep. Harman should be investigated for treason. AIPAC should be investigated for treason. - Jimmyb207, on 04/20/2009, -3/+27The story just broke at rawstory.....
http://rawstory.com/08/blog/2009/04/20/gonzales-bl ...
- mithrasinvictus, on 04/20/2009, -0/+23The article said it was a court approved wiretap, so it's not the program she was defending.
- seanstuart, on 04/20/2009, -3/+25Their grip on our government never ceases to amaze me.
- AmazingSteve, on 04/20/2009, -0/+22Let Israel fend for itself. The rest of us have enough problems.
- apothekari, on 04/20/2009, -5/+26"Generalizing, a hallmark of the Left, is foolhardy."
You are ***** me right?
Cuz, the Right wing...They NEVER generalize ever.
Anyways,
I say kick this self serving ass out and anyone else who was involved. - shig, on 04/20/2009, -3/+23They invented the term "limousine liberal" to describe the paradox of traveling in exquisite luxury to the venue in which the topic of discussion is desperate poverty.
- americanoboy, on 04/20/2009, -2/+21why shouldn't you? aipac is a garbage organization full of criminals
- wjappe, on 04/20/2009, -3/+21Anyone in High Level government that supports the agenda of AIPAC should do the honorable thing and resign.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -2/+19We would have to wake you from the tomb.
CBS, CNN and Fox do not run articles critical of AIPAC - frequentFlyer, on 04/20/2009, -1/+17Jane, you ignorant slut. (SNL)
- gmdmartyr, on 04/20/2009, -2/+18Haven't seen you for a while....thought you might have crawled back under that rock* you came from....SHUCKS!
*By no means do I intend that to be THE Rock! - gsadamb, on 04/20/2009, -0/+16I think Digg is pro-wtf, which describes this story.
