Just how profoundly ignorant do you have to be to support this administration? - MEGAMERICAN, on 12/10/2007, -2/+272It is easier to not tell the truth with a straight face if you don't know anything to begin with.
- Frei, on 12/10/2007, -2/+221Historical ignorance is a prerequisite for being a member of the Bush administration.
- david76, on 12/10/2007, -3/+171I'm still wondering why they mention that she was born after the incident. As if being born after history is some sort of excuse for being ignorant of it.
- greendalek, on 12/10/2007, -4/+141Another Child Left Behind...
- smatty1, on 12/10/2007, -7/+141Holy God and Jesus! We're in a lot of trouble here kids!
- iching, on 12/10/2007, -3/+111When George asks Dana to sit in the corner in the oval office, George watches in amusement for hours.
- khail250, on 12/10/2007, -0/+95Cuba is next to Iraq and Iran, thats why we hate them
- savetheusa1, on 12/10/2007, -5/+96What else would you expect from a loyal "Bushie"
- bgtees, on 12/10/2007, -1/+69Bush was alive during the Cuban Missile Crisis, but I'm willing to bet he's not quite sure what it is either.
/morons running the country - animaniac, on 12/10/2007, -1/+62I think the word we're all looking for is "fail."
Fail. - hmmmok, on 12/10/2007, -2/+55Those who do not remember the past are... Oh damn. I always forget this one.
- KiwiHopeful, on 12/10/2007, -1/+51Are you suggesting George finally caught on to why Dick was asking him to do it?
- wendelgee2, on 12/10/2007, -2/+44Good try buddy.
You've just fallen for an Anne Coulter smear.
From people who care about this much more than I do:
"The C-SPAN video clearly shows Gore pointing to the busts in the middle of the room (Lafayette and Jones), not Washington and Franklin (which were according to the curator, at the "far right" and "left" of the room). The clear video shows how the Washington and Franklin busts are not in Gore’s line of vision. This makes sense, of course, because it is absurd that Gore couldn’t identify Franklin and Washington." - Michael9636, on 08/04/2008, -2/+39Intelligence and competence have never been a requirement to be part of the Bush administration. Such nonsense has actually been discouraged.
- longbow486, on 12/10/2007, -3/+39I'd do her though
- monkeyrun, on 12/10/2007, -1/+33I'll nominate her to participate the Miss Thirty-something USA pageant.
- wonderchemist, on 12/10/2007, -0/+32Sure, the average american may be ignorant, but I expect more of our leaders and the people who work on behalf of them.
- offspring06, on 12/10/2007, -2/+34I'm 27 and Canadian yet I know what the Cuban Missile crisis was so you would think a 35 year old American would know what it is.
- HalfGiraffe, on 12/10/2007, -1/+30A big thanks to the Bush White House for giving me a great chuckle every frickin day of the week!
What's next, Miss South Carolina as Secretary of State? - sodoh, on 12/10/2007, -0/+28But I believe that this administration needs more maps like in South Africa.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 12/10/2007, -3/+31She could be in one of Jay Leno's Jaywalking segments. This is why Americans are hated. Ingorant and arrogant. "We are the best so why should we know anything?"
If anyone asks, I'm going to lie and say that I am Canadian. - orlyfactor, on 12/10/2007, -0/+27We're already ***** ***** :(
- KiwiHopeful, on 12/10/2007, -2/+28Stop the presses ... the Bush administration values loyalty over competence?! Shocked! Shocked I tell you!
- Rotzooi, on 12/10/2007, -0/+25She's clearly dumb enough to go for it.
- warriorscot, on 12/10/2007, -3/+28I am deeply worried about the United States.
- Ricky8765, on 12/10/2007, -0/+25And don't forget North Korea is right there too, while South Korea is over by China.
- boug3, on 12/10/2007, -3/+27"The Cuban Missile Crisis," "It had to do with Cuba and missiles, I'm pretty sure."
Not absolutely certain, just ""pretty" sure. Of course Cuban missiles could refer to a submarine sandwich franchise, right?
No no! It makes references to Cuban cigars. That's it, cigars are long and can be referred to as missiles. That's it: There was a shortage of cigars in 1962 which was referred to as "the Cuban Missile Crisis". That's when Abraham Lincoln, the US president in 1962, decided to boycott Cuba because they didn't deliver enough cigars to the US. That boycott still goes on because Musolini, the president of Cuba at the time, never forgave Lincoln for the boycott. - umstbkddng, on 12/10/2007, -2/+25She's the Paris Hilton of politics.
- DeadKyle, on 12/10/2007, -0/+23Awwwwwww. But she's pretty, she doesn't have to know about all that icky stuff
- etsa, on 12/10/2007, -3/+26Damn idiotic and scary... for the White House to promote someone without a grasp of history.
Secondly, the current administration has a tendency to promote and hire people based on their religious affliation. - inactive, on 12/10/2007, -3/+25what's more idiotic? not knowing about the cuban missile crisis or TELLING THE WORLD you don't know about the cuban missile crisis. if she kept her mouth shut know one would've known she's an ignoramus.
well, that BIG of an ignoramus anyway. - eatmorgnome, on 12/10/2007, -0/+21Agree. It's much easier to get people to make the mistakes of the past if they're not aware of them.
- bitterbug, on 12/10/2007, -3/+23What about the Cuban Cigar crisis? Oh wait, I'm Canadian. We can get them without being anally probed. :P
- ChristPissed, on 12/10/2007, -3/+23I didn't think one could produce sounds in a vacuum, but Dana is living proof.
- monkeyrun, on 12/10/2007, -1/+19are... in the White House.
- inactive, on 12/10/2007, -2/+19If people like her are the future of American Leaders then you guys are ***** *****. O_o
- internetcoward, on 12/10/2007, -1/+18Wasn't that when Cuba ALMOST ran out of missiles?
- glasnostic, on 12/10/2007, -0/+15Zach - Quote the whole thing.
Context is everything - TheLoneHoot, on 12/10/2007, -0/+15More like the Jessica Simpson of politics...
Chicken or fish? Missles and Cuba? - wendelgee2, on 12/10/2007, -4/+19Then you don't remember very well. Have you looked up the quote, or just repeated what you've been told?
Or are you being sarcastic and I'm just lashing out for no reason? - Ekdog, on 12/10/2007, -0/+15Have you considered applying for a position at the White House? You sound like just the kind of person they tend to hire.
- mishaco, on 12/10/2007, -2/+16truer words were never spoken .
- ladalang, on 12/10/2007, -2/+16Come on, nobody in his administration is allowed to be smarter than he is, that would be too threatening. Plus dumb does as its told.
- wendelgee2, on 12/10/2007, -1/+15You know what, just:
http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp - hagis, on 12/10/2007, -1/+14Georgie boy employed her so he wouldn't be the dumbest person in the room
- morningmatters, on 12/10/2007, -1/+14Having intelligence or general knowledge is something which most Bush admin lackeys must overcome in order to climb their career ladders. The less you know, the more you will prosper. Sadly, the same type of mentality exists with your typical Bush lovers. The less they know what they are talking about, the more popular they become among the right wing blogosphere..
- ronh, on 12/10/2007, -1/+14No attempt, this is embarrasing. This should be basic information for anyone involved in American policy.
- offspring06, on 12/10/2007, -0/+13Oh come on she is the White House press secretary. Its her job to know these things.
- pintomp3, on 12/10/2007, -0/+12those who do not remember the past... can't get fooled again.
