- AnaHadWolves, on 10/30/2007, -29/+387Screw impeachment charges against both of these ass-clowns; I'm pushing for trying them for crimes against humanity. The punishment for that is a better option, anyway: the short end of a long rope.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -9/+214They may face impeachment over /this/?
How about everything else? - eboy, on 10/30/2007, -26/+126this is pure *****....they raping us blind...and turning America into a third world nation...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+103Bring it on! Heck of a job! He's the decider! Don't forget Poland! Rarely is the question aksed, is our President learning? Don't misunderestimate him! Our wings take dream! Mission Accomplished!
- NerdyNinja, on 10/11/2007, -2/+91"In past administrations, if someone like Mr. Addington made such a moronic argument as this one, they would be out of a job the next week. ... I think that what it really shows is the lack of sort of adult supervision within the administration."
Priceless. - ruley, on 10/11/2007, -8/+84finally evolution has taken place and congress-democratus is showing the early stages of a spinal cord.
- fuckingusername, on 10/11/2007, -5/+69how come I never here this on TV?
- farksucksmasack, on 10/11/2007, -9/+70Original: A Government Of the People, FOR the People.
BushCo Version: A Government Of the Rich, for Control of The People.
This country is doomed. - DeucesWild, on 10/11/2007, -7/+65Too bad it's not 1804 or we could have gotten a duel out of this. I vote for bringing duels back. Of course I wouldn't want to duel Cheyney since he'll shoot you when you're not looking.
- SilkSteel, on 10/11/2007, -11/+68About ***** time. Send these ***** straight to hell for high treason and crimes against humanity. Let them hang from the gallows.
- jtbndy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+61Just want Bush and his administration to be held accountable for his actions. So far he just does what he wants, when he wants, with no regard for law or anything else. If impeachment forces him to respect the law, then I'm all for it. (and have been for a while, but thats a story for another day! :) )
- devilstower, on 10/11/2007, -8/+58We've been dancing at the edge of the abyss for at least a year, but now we're tumbling rapidly into the rift between a government of laws, and a government of men. No congress should entertain for a moment the kind of privilege being now exerted by the executive.
Only one option remains, and it is -not- contempt proceedings. - meldroc, on 10/11/2007, -8/+51Impeach, remove from office, then HANG the sons of bitches for obstruction of justice, perjury, warrantless wiretapping, lying us into a war, war crimes, crimes against humanity and treason.
Yes, hang them. From the neck until dead. We used to do that to traitors in this country. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+35Its about time he is held accountable for his actions. This is where it will get sticky. My guess is we will have a terrorist attack before any of this plays out, and he declares himself King George the first.
- tHePeOPle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+33I think that he was saying that he's anti-douchebag.
- holygram, on 10/11/2007, -5/+36For the rich, by the rich, and of the rich.
- anagoge, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Wikipedia:
"Impeachment is so rare that the term is often misunderstood. A typical misconception is to confuse it with involuntary removal from office; in fact, it is only the legal statement of charges, paralleling an indictment in criminal law. An official who is impeached faces a second legislative vote (whether by the same body or another), which determines conviction, or failure to convict, on the charges embodied by the impeachment. Most constitutions require a supermajority to convict."
All I'm saying that is impeachment isn't enough for Bush. Not by a long way. - venuspcs, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33I can't believe the Illuminati "Shadow Government of most of the World" is allowing this Administration to be so blatantly obvious in their corruption and misuse of power. The High Counsel of the Illuminati needs to have an immediate emergency meeting in Vienna and figure out how best to get rid of Bush and Cheney while simultaneously putting into office two more puppets they can control that won't rape the world for their own benefit but for the benefit of the Illuminati.
- ubuntuedgy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+30Well, just like they get the mafia for tax fraud, or anything else that will stick, this will work. But I think this is just another story...nothing will come of it.
- EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29For the record, iirc, SCOTUS ruled that a criminal investigation trumped claims of executive privilege, but lower thresholds could still apply.
The illegal wiretapping is simply the easiest one to pursue legally because even the President has admitted he broke the law. Now what we have to see is whether the WH did so intentionally.
And I personally want to see _any_ evidence that this unwarranted wiretapping program has done any good, for all the harm it's caused. All we have are some vague claims, but not one documented case vs. the dozen or so crazy-ass "homegrown" terrorists this government likes to parade around as evidence of our successes. - EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29Given a lack of 67 votes in the Senate to convict, this is the best chance we have for removal. The war is certainly worse, IMO, but he won't get impeached over that unless someone proves they cooked the intelligence, and the media is willing to cover it. The media _is_ willing to cover this, because it's so simple, and the media hates government spying (on them).
- ninjaface, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29I have one word for these *****: ACCOUNTABILITY
Where the ***** is it?? If Bill Clinton had even thought about doing this ***** and somebody knew he thought that, they'd have hung his ass. This is ridiculous. Somebody better grow some balls and nail these fascist bastards. - tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29Has congress actually got the balls to do that though?
- SilkSteel, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Is that a joke? Mainstream media suckles from the rancid ***** of the current administration. They're beginning to wise up as of late however.
- SheilaNoya, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Impeachment takes too long. Mobs of angry citizens with torches and pitchforks would get the job done much faster.
- ScrewedThePooch, on 10/11/2007, -7/+26Seriously, put these ***** in maximum security prison with no chance of parole.
- bemenaker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20I'm not, I'm one of the I hate Bush because he is RUINING OUR COUNTRY types. :)
- WakeUpToFreedom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18I don't think its a coincidence that all this ***** happens around the same time....i have a bad feeling that this wont end pretty.
- Smuikas, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Better option would be to confiscate all of Bush and Cheney's money, liquidate everything they own, and use it to help pay back the national deficit they've created over the past 7 years with their illegal war.
I'd much rather see G.W.Bush sitting outside Penn station with a cardboard box and a sign begging for change than hearing of him hanged. - sensi313, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18if they consider themselves exempt from the executive branch than impeachment would not apply. I think INDICTMENT is more appropriate....
- timtimes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19I've already got the license plate to celebrate the occasion.
http://thetimtimes.com/?p=63
Enjoy. - Jimbob1310, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20lmao yeah truth, THIS is going to get bush impeached but everything in his 6 prior years is acceptable?
- Drexus, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20I agree with a lot of comments here. Impeachment would only get him out of office. Well, he's getting out of office anyways. I want him labelled a criminal of war among a great many things.
- mehgahurtz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18FTFA:
Olbermann probed further into why Cheney has given up claiming he is not part of the executive branch but is still not complying with the order. "Is this an attempt to stop what Congressman Emanuel talked about yesterday, cutting off the funding? Is it just more smokescreen?"
Well, duh! It's so obvious and the media or politicians don't have the balls to just point it out. He doesn't want any oversight because he is up to something illegal. This administration believes they are above the law. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16The real salt in the wound is the money (billions?) given to to no bid privatization military and rebuild contractors and apparently no rebuilding, or it is invariable shoddy and incomplete. The reason Bush lies is he is a thief. He may be a victim because no doubt he is psychologically bullied for him to get on the TV and make these absurd sales statements while he is gritting his teeth while talking and chewing his words. That does not excuse the fact that he has accepted the office of President. The main thing is to stop the stealing. Also, as long as the military industrial complex and private contractors are getting paid, they have reason to perpetuate the occupation for "patriotic" reasons.
- holygram, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Because you watch tv.
- jp3550, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Because it's what needs to be done.
- Kpeanut21, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I'm pretty sure its this Administration that does not believe the USA is a nation of laws. At least not laws they have to obey.
- Rsardinia, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Tension....you are killing me. There's a 74 percent disapproval rating of the president, and I believe there is enough support for impeachment. The problem is, congress doesn't have the balls to do it. I have actually written my congress person and they told me that impeachment against cheney or bush would just make the political world worse than it is now with all the junk that would go along with an impeachment. They say we need to just focus on the Iraq war and figuring out a way to succeed there. Its sad how congress has lost its way in policing the president as they are told to do in the constitution. Checks and Balances my ass.
- DoctaStooge, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14"For the executive branch, only those who have allegedly committed "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" may be impeached. Although treason and bribery are obvious, the Constitution is silent on what constitutes a "high crime or misdemeanor."" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment#United_States
I would guess that war crimes could be considered a "high crime". - way2jaded, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15But it Will take years for the next step....
BALLS!!! - EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17I'm all for seeing a war crimes trial, but that will have to wait until after these bastards are out of office, I'm afraid. Impeachment and conviction would set the stage nicely, but there is zero chance of a sitting P or VP being tried for anything outside of impeachable offenses and sexual harassment suits.
- ScottMaximus1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12To the Hague we go!
- TritonX, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14You know, it is considered a crime to invade a country against UN's will. And the commander in charge of the army should be the one tried for this decision.
- TheTorontonian, on 10/11/2007, -7/+17Not true, they are trying to make you into a super power. Sure it is a bit of a stretch I know, but Hiltler wanted to do the same.
- splatterboy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11@holygram
What 'context' do you put those kinds of quotes in to make them intelligent? In what 'context' do they make sense? They don't. Unless stand up comedian or assclown are an acceptable form of public behavior for a president... Touche wortyboskfapped. - Wargalas, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Notice how you got dugg down because you spoke the truth? That's pretty typical around here, but you are 100% correct. Politicians didn't make this country great, the people working hard and fighting for what's right did.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -6/+16Maybe your hereing organ is screwed up.
- sremick, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Maybe if you didn't watch so much TV you'd learn to spell.
http://vtbsd.net/english/ - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11I may be wrong here, but isn't charging someone with criminal charges a step in that direction? Did you read the article?
