- Rotzooi, on 08/04/2008, -12/+271Wow. This is getting buried faster than I can say, neocon bury brigade.
FTA: "“They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East,” the retired senior FBI official told.
Classy. - treehugger87, on 08/04/2008, -16/+207Inside job
- EarlOfLade, on 08/04/2008, -10/+172Why are the criminals in the White House and not behind bars?
USA has ZERO credibility at the moment and until Bush & Co are behind bars, it will continue to have ZERO credibility. - leerayIG88, on 08/04/2008, -4/+134Wow...lies upon lies. I hope someone goes to prison for this.
- Shiftgood, on 08/04/2008, -9/+134crime.
- Waiting2awake, on 08/04/2008, -7/+100*Grabs some popcorn and awaits the usual bury brigade*
I wonder when the average Americans are going to figure out who their enemy's are? - lead2thehead, on 08/04/2008, -7/+83This line says it all...
“They couldn’t go from box cutters one week to weapons-grade anthrax the next.” - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -7/+76And Republicans still wonder why President Bush is so unpopular?
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -10/+69INSIDIOUS NeoCon Job = 9/11
- Telmarine, on 08/04/2008, -7/+64Bush is still trying to justify the war in Iraq?
I wouldnt be surprised if there was a major attack on US soil right before teh elections - sheasie, on 08/04/2008, -4/+59Lone gunman ?! Hardly... ABC News claims to have FOUR sources within the lab attesting to Iraq being the source of the anthrax. As a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY, ABC News needs to reveal those four sources:
WHO WERE THE FOUR LABORATORY "INSIDERS" FEEDING ABC NEWS THE BLATANT LIES ?!
THESE FOUR ARE ALL POTENTIALLY CO-CONSPIRATORS, AND LIKELY POSE A REAL THREAT TO OUR HOMELAND SECURITY !! - WombleSlayer, on 08/04/2008, -20/+75Just like 9/11, eh?
...Oh come on, someone had to say it. I just wanted to be that person for once... - More4, on 08/04/2008, -0/+46McCain in October 2001: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/08/01/mccain-anthrax ...
LETTERMAN: How are things going in Afghanistan now?
MCCAIN: I think we’re doing fine …. I think we’ll do fine. The second phase — if I could just make one, very quickly — the second phase is Iraq. There is some indication, and I don’t have the conclusions, but some of this anthrax may — and I emphasize may — have come from Iraq.
LETTERMAN: Oh is that right?
MCCAIN: If that should be the case, that’s when some tough decisions are gonna have to be made. - FairNUnBalanced, on 08/04/2008, -6/+47Link to the original article at the New York Daily News: http://tinyurl.com/6gujsn.
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -4/+45What really happened to Bruce E. Ivins. The powers that be couldnt allow the evidence showing that Dr Zack broke into steal the anthrax. This is proof muslims are being framed up for terrorism. Their whole al qaeda threat is a fraud:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAYMd3RjFBk - mario323, on 08/04/2008, -2/+39This is sad.
- jorichter, on 08/04/2008, -4/+40Al Qaeda, Liberals, Environmentalists, any Muslim, Black people, Iran, the French... Whoever... It doesn't really matter it's just more of the usual BS from this administration. It really shouldn't be surprising any more.
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -1/+35Any republicans care to defend this?
- s0crates82, on 08/04/2008, -4/+34Ok. So the FBI says that Al Qaeda can't possibly manufacture anthrax, but Colin Powell said that Saddam could make anthrax. No anthrax has been found in Iraq, no machinery used in the possible development of anthrax has been found in Iraq. US Gov't scientist that worked with anthrax, and developing an anthrax vaccine commits suicide.
Therefore: Afghani and Iraqi "threats" could not have delivered anthrax to the American populace, but a US scientist committed suicide.
I'm ready for my tinfoil hat now. - swrostmore, on 08/04/2008, -1/+29Are you ***** me? Anyone with half a brain looked at the victim list and immediately concluded that it was a right-wing extremist trying to cast blame on Muslims.
- SilverBlade2k, on 08/04/2008, -3/+31Not surprising in the least. Bush and co would take ANY excuse to go to war with Iraq or Iran or anybody else, even if they have to falsely blame and create lies to do so.
- nuentendu, on 08/04/2008, -5/+32The Bush administration will do anything to divert attention away from themselves because of all the crimes that commit.
- citizenbfk, on 08/05/2008, -0/+24This is a great betrayal of our nation.
- richmomz, on 08/05/2008, -1/+25White House officials were given Cipro a couple weeks before 9/11, and Cheney's staff also received Cipro the night of 9/11 (one week before the anthrax attacks): http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/2001 ...
Independent scientists (NOT the FBI) later find the true source of the anthrax - the U.S. military itself, at Ft. Detrick: http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn2265
The media immediately drops the story and is virtually forgotten for the next 7 years. The Iraq war proceeds on WMD terrorist fears anyway.
Ask yourself... why? - nblsavage, on 08/04/2008, -0/+23They're too busy trying to blame the source rather than defend BushCo. It's easier.
- wannapiece, on 08/05/2008, -1/+22What if Bruce Ivins didn't commit suicide
- cyclades, on 08/04/2008, -2/+23That couldn't be because W is a criminally insane scumbag, could it?
- krnldmp, on 08/04/2008, -3/+23If everyone knows "Al Qaeda" didn't do it, what makes the White House so unconcerned and comfortable about who really did it?
Chew on that tin foil. - manicmarvin, on 08/05/2008, -1/+20Dead men tell no tales.
- kingUssop, on 08/04/2008, -4/+23Bush is only popular with around 30% of people. Of course, they're the ***** so they think that makes them a majority.
- hyunseob90, on 08/04/2008, -2/+21i totally agree.
- Caffeinate, on 08/05/2008, -0/+18He's the one I'm hoping goes to prison.
- mrzeero, on 08/04/2008, -3/+19I am sure it is more likely than most think.
- scott1, on 08/04/2008, -0/+15Yeah, but then they get pardoned by Bush
- Sogladtobehere, on 08/05/2008, -0/+13Where the ***** is America's moral outrage?!?
- protogenxl, on 08/04/2008, -1/+14"Surprise, surprise, surprise!"
- richmomz, on 08/05/2008, -1/+14False flag.
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -2/+15Not Everyone.
There were opinions about Unabomber types spreading this crap because the attacks were targeted.
Personally, I never thought it came from the Middle East but from some dickweed that had this crap and was waiting for an opportune time to distribute it.
And while we're at it, what have we done to Saudi Arabia about the 9/11 attackers? - denizen42, on 08/05/2008, -1/+13Impeach.
- kplo, on 04/01/2009, -0/+12this is so effed up
- WriterinSac, on 08/04/2008, -6/+17And, what, if it comes from Fox News that means its news? Why are you so afraid of the truth?
- thePTS, on 08/04/2008, -1/+12Come on. Stop blaming the puppets.
The american problem is the rightwing shift in the political spectrum, which allows a party like Republicans, not only to exist, but to be repeatedly elected. How do you think Reagan would've acted if 9/11 happened on "his watch"? It would've been a massacre. Reagan was even more gung-ho than Bush.
Republicans fill a function for the US. They act like the national self-confidence in many ways, "copyrighting" patriotism, religion and the feeling of being superior and wielding power. Why is this needed in the US more than in other countries? - AngelaQ, on 08/05/2008, -0/+11It must be considered.
- Violent, on 08/04/2008, -0/+11The evidence is more damning than that, the strain of anthrax found was proven to be so weaponized as to only be produced inside a very small number of U.S. bio-weapons facilities.

As the investigation dragged on, authorities later enlisted J. Craig Venter, founder of a Rockville, Md., institute that had helped map the human genome. Based on analyses performed at The Institute for Genomic Research, Dr. Venter said "it almost had to be a government scientist." The institute's analysis was completed under contract to the FBI and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
He recalled federal investigators retrieving the anthrax evidence from the institute.
"FBI came in and took freezers and all the samples," Dr. Venter said in an interview Sunday.
Ibis Biosciences, a company in Carlsbad, Calif., performed some of the most recent anthrax analysis. The company tells its clients, including the FBI, that its high-resolution anthrax genotyping kit provides analyses more advanced than any other technology worldwide. - Sil369, on 08/05/2008, -0/+10if aliens attacked the earth with giant lasers, bush'd still blame osama

- urbandistrict, on 08/04/2008, -2/+11I don't think they are wondering, at this point. Who knows what other "skeletons in the closet" they have.
