- SheilaNoya, on 10/10/2007, -2/+32Celebrating Rosh Hashanah? Are you sure you heard him correctly? Maybe he was talking about partying with naked Republicans in "Rush's Sauna".
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23LOL, and he would like to thank the Easter Bunny for all the cool gifts he got last week as well.
- joel2600, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23bush saying something stupid based on misinformation ... yeah, sounds about right
- keyboardduder, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22This guy.... Its almost like someone schedules him to ***** up on purpose. Nobody can be that dumb.
- pardonmedoug, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Dugg for Yiddish.
For everyone's edification, that final sentence by rayearth is a classic insult meaning "Go take a ***** in the sea." - jdenzer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Yeah but if I where to publicly make a statement to wish people a happy Rosh Hashanah, I would a least make an effort to find out when it is.
Or in the President's case, have someone look it up on "The Google" - LoadStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The White House issues announcements like this for all major holidays and religious observances, which does include Ramadan. They're not "celebrating" it, they're recognizing that it is indeed a major event in the lives of the citizens of the country that is happening or will be happening shortly.
- rayearth42, on 10/10/2007, -7/+14We need another year of Bush like a luch in kup.
Gey cocken offen yom. - ScienceDoc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8He was sure he was in Austria yesterday.
- imolaavant, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Yeah, and it's even more interesting that the Mayan calendar doesn't have Jewish OR American holidays on it. Ponderous man, totally ponderous!
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6On the other hand, we're not speaking as the leader of a nation ..
- digaway, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Does this particularly surprise anyone?
- Lax32, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7The white house later issued a statement that they will no longer be using wikipedia as their primary intelligence source.
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Then what the ***** is he doing talking about it?
Half-assed, whatever way you want to look at it. - MalDON, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7The White House is full of ***** suckers.
- rayearth42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4One of the wonderful expressions passed on by my parents. This book below is the best reference.
http://www.amazon.com/Joys-Yiddish-Leo-Rosten/dp/0743406516 - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dude, it's Bush. This is Digg.
What do you expect? - Metasquares, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6We all know he's a screwup, but it's the thought that counts :)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Jesus Christ...
- Pile, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I know enough to surround myself with people who aren't clueless, who won't feed me bad information and make me look like an idiot. But then again, I'm no president of the US.
- mossrockss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Rosh Hashanah, also known as "The Feast of Trumpets"
- wealer, on 10/10/2007, -6/+8C'mon... There is a big time difference in Australia.
- apr35, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I hate Bush, just wanted to set that straight before defending him.
The title of this post gets you all excited for a real big F-Up by the administration, but trying to step out of my liberal shoes for just a second here...
I think an un-bias look at this simply shows the guy was wish a happy Rash Hashanah a bit in advance, knowing that it is right around the corner. I mean seriously, do you think they don't have a calender?
This is the problem with the left wing, they often try to jump on this little *****, which factually does not seem like an actual ***** up, and give it a nice spin trying to make it seem a whole lot worse. Then when it comes time to point out substantial, factually based deficiencies within the current dictatorship, all the not crazy people are thinking, why am I going to listen to them with there frivolous claims?
I like to call this the Moore syndrome, you have a guy with a lot of great raw data that could easily prove his point, but often feels that he needs to twist it just a little bit to add a little bit of spice.
Leave the fact twisting to the GOP.
Nothing in this article suggests anything more than the administration was offering appropriately premature celebratory wishes.
Again, I hate Bush - varmit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Remember, The Easter Bunny Hates You
http://youtube.com/watch?v=BPb0po2jzfg - zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Right, because there are no Jewish Americans ..
- foopirata, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Some of you people are seriously brain-damaged. Do you REALLY think that George Whatever Bush, his mightyficiency in person, oracle of Texas, purveyor of all that is White-House-y, is the guy who MAKES UP THE ***** SCHEDULE? Some helper marked the date, he's got the agenda for the day, he went with it.
There, somewhere in Arkansas a postman misdelivered a letter. Wanna post a front-page article on Digg saying that it's "th3Bu5h"'s fault and how he's a retarded moron not worthy of licking the tires of Pon Raul's limo? Some of you really need to get a grip.
- serjopp, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5So what? I hear people say "merry christmas" to me the whole month of December.
- Terri84, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How about a big ***** you, god damn nazi
- LoadStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1At least the headline is somewhat more correct than the article... the article says "President Bush" did this or that, but does anyone really think the president was even remotely involved in this? This was likely some sub-department within the White House (or perhaps in some executive branch office not even located in the White House, for all I know) that is responsible for crafting and issuing these formal statements on behalf of the president.
The most Bush probably knew about it was some n-th level line item in a briefing that read "Issued Rosh Hash. statement" or something. - evillawngnome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well said, apr35.
- orxor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You mean Austria at the OPEC summit right?
- apr35, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I hate Bush, just wanted to set that straight before defending him.

- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I am for voting for him in 2000.
Though I blame jagermeister. - Jawsh91, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Um...I care?
- Pile, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Yes? What do you want. I'm kind of busy here telling various republicans to do crazy things.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1At least the GOP doesn't spread hate
- dunderballer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2The Jewish calender doesn't tell you the date the messiah was born or rose from the dead? No *****?
- aadyss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"how long will mockers delight in mockery?"
- jeremyduffy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2"Please remind him that the people are from the Netherlands and not the Nether Regions." -My Fellow Americans.
- lordchronos, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3How will Bush explain this insult to his Jewish Masters?
- Matthew720, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2lol
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Precisely. I still don't see what all the fuss is about.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Well stated.
- natedouglas, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Ridiculous. Why are all of you people attacking Bush?
It's clear that he's being a fiscal conservative and reusing last year's calendar. - aadyss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So, let me get this right. You can't say Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary until that specific day? The only exception then is for you folks who think this subject is important or clever. You can look in the mirror every morning and state to yourself.."happy stupid, ignorant and big loser day to me" day.
- omnithought, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1With this and all the other stories that constantly come up showing what a complete moronic douchebag Bush is, I think it's about time he just got tied to a post by some high ranking general and let the American public slap him in the face one by one.
- dk911, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Exactly... But that's not the news that Digg wants to hear!! They want to rally against the prez any way they can. It's best to leave these liberal ***** to themselves. Oh, and it appears on ThinkProgress, so what do you expect? They report when the prez wears white after labor day as if it's a national tragedy.
