- mlrigsby, on 07/10/2009, -10/+68CNN is pretty awful too.
- rocknog, on 07/10/2009, -8/+47I must confess... When there's a big event, I turn over to Fox News. Not because I trust their reporting, or anything like that, but their commentary is always the most lol-worthy. I will never forget the time when the crazy guy took hostages at a Hillary campaign office, and at one point the anchors started discussing the possibility that this whole thing is a PR stunt, and that the guy is a Hillary plant. It was just priceless - just could not believe they would actually go there in the middle of this hostage situation.
- wtrwlkr, on 07/10/2009, -3/+37I don't really put much stock into who gets the most ratings. I care about who uses the most facts. Let's not forget, shows like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars get high ratings too. What do I think whenever I hear someone like O'Reilly brag about how many people watch his show? "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups".
- Kaegro, on 07/10/2009, -7/+36I somewhat enjoy CNN, best channel to know whats going on in the US. FOX is good for Family Guy and the Simpsons, which is actually closer to reality than Fox News.
- richirwin, on 07/11/2009, -9/+33On military bases they have news on 24/7.
You will see CNN.
You will see MSNBC.
You will not see Fox News.
I asked about that one time. The answer - We want news, not entertainment. - rocknog, on 07/11/2009, -7/+22Fox News is awful for their horrendous bias. Same with MSNBC. CNN is awful because they're trying to be the MTV of cable news.
- Maddoktor2, on 07/11/2009, -7/+22FOX News = National Enquirer of broadcasting.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -4/+19---> Intenetz

Can't go wrong. - cps7c5, on 07/10/2009, -8/+22hopefully the numbers here arent also slightly distorted
puts a little more wind in my sails to hear the general populace is at least doing something right
fox is a joke, i think its more watched for entertainment
they dont have broadcasters, they have models and actors - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -2/+16Please stop paying their advertisers.
Tune in to youtube for the lawls. - rocknog, on 07/11/2009, -0/+11***** car chases. I swear to God, one time I was watching CNN, they were covering a speech by the ***** president, and they cut away to go to a car chase. A random ***** car chase is more newsworthy than the president? WTF CNN!?
- FairDinkumMate, on 07/11/2009, -1/+10I had to stop watching the BBC for fear of smashing my TV as one presenter in particular continually referred to Asia as a 'country'!
- alanocu, on 07/11/2009, -6/+15A Zogby poll indicated that 40% said news sources on the Internet are considered to be the most reliable. More than Fox News. More than CNN. More than MSNBC. More than the New York Times.
Think about that for a minute. I mean, if people believe the Internet more than news organizations, does that mean that they don’t trust CNN, but do trust CNN.com? I don’t think so.
There’s something else on the Internet they trust. Blogs. That's putting a lot of faith in people who make stuff up and have a tremendous bias.
You can trust they will continue to make stuff up and have a tremendous bias though. - lanemik, on 07/11/2009, -1/+9Yeah because there's no news outlets on the internet. *rolls eyes*
- inajeep, on 07/11/2009, -1/+9That's a bit misleading. The 'Internet' is not a single source. All the news orgs you mentioned have an internet outlet. They get there sources from the AP and other news sources which also are on the internet. Where is the line between the internet and those news orgs?
- supferrets, on 07/11/2009, -3/+11Yeah, but of all the news channels, CNN is maybe the least awful.
- ehaugan, on 07/11/2009, -2/+10"The right wingers have been so pumped up over the ratings FOX News has been getting ever since President Obama took office."
Umm, no. Fox News has been getting waaaaay better ratings than other cable news stations WELL BEFORE Obama took office. - Bartboy919, on 07/11/2009, -2/+9Fox News =/= Fox affiliates.
- CKR600, on 07/11/2009, -3/+10CNN. We have Cameras.
- darknecross, on 07/11/2009, -3/+9@Bartboy919
Really, you need the news in HD.
Really? The NEWS? - smotpoker, on 07/11/2009, -12/+18Fox news sucks balls. MSNBC has the most stories and actual facts, even if they do have a fair amount of opinion shows. Fox might have as many stories but half of them are pretty obviously contrived/exaggerated by Fox to the point that they might as well be fiction.
For a lot of different stories on different topics from different perspectives, MSNBC is best followed by CNN followed by CSPAN (in .us cable news at least). Fox is just whatever stories seems most exciting or supports their ultra-right slant sandwiched between their ultra-right lunatic commentators - supferrets, on 07/11/2009, -7/+13It's not hard to see why.
Daily Show/CNN/MSNBC viewers are more informed than Fox viewers:

80% of Fox viewers are more likely to hold a common misperception:

If you want anything resembling accuracy, you'll stay the ***** away from Fox News. - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -3/+9I like to watch Headline News as, to me, it's the most balanced of all the networks.
- odkin, on 07/11/2009, -0/+6Yep, when some celebrity death or natural disaster appeals to the purient interests of uninformed masses, CNN is the first stop.
People who watch news regularly and keep informed on the critical daily issues seem to be watching Fox. - Yankees368, on 07/11/2009, -2/+8BREAKING NEWS:
CNN gets better ratings during big events. SOURCE: Twitter.com - Tyrghast, on 07/11/2009, -2/+8BBC America seems to have fairer coverage than either network.
- breadfred, on 07/11/2009, -2/+8Try the BBC
- inajeep, on 07/11/2009, -1/+6Car chases huh? That's your news? Enjoy next season of Idol.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+5it is sad that you have made yourself SO far to the left that everyone seems right leaning to you.
- diemunkiesdie, on 07/11/2009, -1/+6Isn't HLN also a CNN network? I thought it was CNN Headline News. Right?
- missinglink, on 07/11/2009, -3/+8Most Americans usually get their news from Comedy Central... true story.
- rabidjester, on 07/11/2009, -1/+6I hate to join one of these creepy cable news fanboy fights, but you must keep in mind that most people just don't watch cable news regularly, and CNN is considered the standard. So ya, when ***** goes down, Joe/Jane Sixpack will say "quick, turn on CNN." CNN actually has a non crappy channel, CNN International, but it's hard to find in the states for some reason.
- Bologner, on 07/11/2009, -2/+7I hate fox, but I doubt your statement 100%. Ever been to an Airport? McDonalds? Fox is on EVERYWHERE, unless it's a more liberal spot.
- Bartboy919, on 07/11/2009, -1/+6Crazy man is crazy.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -2/+7It is, if you watch it 24 hours a day. They have to fill that time with crap, just like every other networks.
But for "big" event, it's CNN over Fox anytime. - pintomp3, on 07/11/2009, -2/+6Cheney exclusively watched Fox News. He required that the tv in his hotel suite be tuned to it.
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0322061cheney ... - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -6/+10my teacher used to gloat all the time fox was the most watched network in america, he would not shut up about it, typical right wing *****
- pintomp3, on 07/11/2009, -1/+5Both owned by Rupert Murdoch, both horrible.
- JoeVet, on 07/11/2009, -1/+5The military is overwhelmingly republican, myself excepted. FoxNews is their primary news source and it is on 24/7. Even the few that call themselves democrats cheer for Hannity and O'Reilly. Us liberals have to keep our heads down and our mouths shut because as anyone who's been in the military knows we are here to protect freedom of speech, not to participate in it.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -2/+6I spent a summer doing contract work on an airforce base and every television in the entire complex (there were hundreds) was ALWAYS on Fox. I was also afraid to eat the food on base.

crooksandliars-SUX - perrym, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4LMAO, one huge media circus and cnn gets marginally higher ratings than FNC.
every other day for YEARS, FNC has beaten *ALL* cable news channels *COMBINED*.
and the jackson circus should hardly be a feather in cnn's cap - 'American tunes into us when a freaky singer dies'
call me when cnn beating FNC becomes a trend and then you can start your cheerleading.
is huffpo et al still saying FNC's ratings are taking a dive, that they will lose out to msnbc etc?
Rupe and Roger said Obama getting elected would give them great ratings and they have proven to be correct once more.
i understand i will get buried here because im not shouting '***** foooze noze' or something childish but everything i have said is factually correct which is a lot more than you get from the anti-FNC brigade.
but hey keep going with your delusions of FNC failing while they pull in the ratings and huge $'s. - Stevanoski, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4cite please.
- Jeremyz0r, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3The internet, turn your TV off.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3Just to point out how ***** stupid your statement is...CNN is one of the MOST carried networks on cable. FAR more households get CNN than Fox News.
Oh and just so you know...CNN pays cable providers to carry them too. That is how cable works, moron. ALLL channels do it. - Paranor01, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4@jsffive: all the news stations got the same bundle of ***** on that one. don't try to say CNN was the only one who did anything on that cause they all did. CNN didn't lie about what it had... what it had was false to begin with, they like all the others, just didn't know it at the time.
and i'm sure there were a lot of questions going on too, but couldn't be reported on at the time by anyone until real facts started coming in... much later - Tzen, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4Wow.
