- bkimberlyb, on 10/21/2007, -7/+465Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are opportunists. I agree they should apologize to the Duke lacrosse players. This case wasn't so much about a black woman accusing white men of rape as was about Jesse and Al getting some face time in front of the media, pretending to "represent" the black community. They need to go away.
- inactive, on 10/21/2007, -13/+387I was under the impression that Jesse Jackson was the emperor of black people.
- sajrsdhs55, on 10/21/2007, -6/+304bkimberlyb, I totally agree with your statement. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are consummate pros at being opportunists. It saddens me that when they appear before the mics and on national tv, the assumption is that they are speaking for the entire black community and that is not the case. They certainly do not speak for me and never have. It think it was an injustice to insist on Imus' firing. Yes, Imus did go overboard w/his comments, but he DID apologize and as both Jackson and Sharpton are clergy, they more than anyone else should understand forgiveness. I am appalled that neither has apologized to the Duke lacrosse players, but I'm not surprised. Yes, Jackson, Sharpton and all other 'black leaders' that subscribe to their philosophy should all go away. They are doing nothing to help anyone, black, white or otherwise other than themselves. The black community need to take a stand. If we want to be respected and considered equals, we need to divest ourselves of the 'victim' attitude, educate ourselves, turn off BET, throw out all the hip-hop rap records that denigrate black women and dole out respect to everyone and not demand it because we are 'black'. Jackson and Sharpton are both racists and need to be silenced.
- sarazen, on 10/21/2007, -7/+224I am not normally a vindictive person, but it seems to me that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do more to encourage a psychology of victimization in the black community and tension between the races than anyone since Charles Manson. What has to be done to get them to apologize, AND get them fired?
- inactive, on 10/21/2007, -12/+203Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton should apologize to the world for existing, period.
Pair of hypocrites!! - PunkRockRalph, on 10/21/2007, -25/+210the two most racist people ever spawned: jesse jackson and al sharpton. they should be imprisoned for such extreme hypocrisy and so many double standards. apologize you ignorant attention whores. if it were up to me you would be publicly humiliated for what you have done to the harmless, 70 year old, legendary Don Imus. for shame.
- fightingirish, on 10/21/2007, -7/+183How about throwing Nancy Grace on that list of those who should apologize?
From when the story to the day before they were dismissed of all charges, she publicly lambasted them as if they were already convicted.
With people like Nancy Grace - who needs a judge, jury, or executioner? - holzp, on 10/21/2007, -7/+164They are not just opportunists, they are racial arsonists.
- toxicityj, on 10/21/2007, -10/+126whoever burried your comment is an absolute idiot, because what you just said is awesome. I've come to the point where I absolutely hate black people that go around playing victim and acting like white people are out to get them or are trying hold them back. It's really nice to see that not all black people are like that.
And i absolutely agree that jackson and shaprton are racist and need to be shut up. They're ruining the image of both black people and Christians every time they open their mouths. - inactive, on 10/21/2007, -8/+98"How about throwing Nancy Grace on that list of those who should apologize? "
I'd rather throw her down a deep well. - lexington86, on 10/21/2007, -9/+66Nancy Grace apologizing... HAHA.
Don't you know that Nancy Grace is never wrong!!!! Jeez. It must be her hair that constantly leads her to the truth of all matters... - vtdanokim, on 10/21/2007, -3/+55This is the first time I've ever posted on Digg.
How can I digg your comment a million times more. I couldn't agree more with anything I've ever read here. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+55There is a better chance of hell freezing over than of Nancy Grace apologizing. Hell, she hounded a woman to death on TV and got away with it.
- tmessing, on 10/12/2007, -5/+52I think you guys have missed who owes the biggest apology, Crystal Gail Mangum, the accuser.
- jsmith39, on 10/21/2007, -1/+46Evelyn Dibben of Annapolis, Maryland
Perhaps these young men were not guilty of any crime, but they are far from innocent. If they choose to have a party, drink to excess (illegally?), hire women to strip and then have sex with these women, then they deserve to suffer the consequences -- even if these consequences involve false allegations. False allegations are only some of the consequences of drunken casual sex. It's about time that they learn this very hard lesson.
Absolutely, how dare these kids choose to have a party, drink alcohol, and hire women to strip for them! The deserve to have false accusations leveled against them. The real shame here is that none of the kids were gang raped in prison before the local police found enough compelling evidence to drop the charges. When will these delinquents learn!
What a ***** bitch. - Koros8, on 10/21/2007, -3/+46"Why should they apologize?
Their not the emperors of black people"
Have you heard them talk?!? They certainly THINK they are the all-powerful rulers of the worlds' Black People! - pheared, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43When will Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson start complaining about the racist, misogynist lyrics in rap music?
- amillion3, on 10/21/2007, -5/+43sajrsdhs55,
What a great statement! - StopSharpton, on 10/21/2007, -4/+41Stopsharpton.com is currently in development, if anyone is interested in helping out contact me @ nomoredoublestandard@hotmail.com
- redmonkey, on 10/21/2007, -3/+38Jesse Jackson was on NY1 TV station yesterday. Hi refused to apologize and made very stupid excuses for it(Like both sides are guilty).
- OmniMe, on 10/21/2007, -7/+37Apologize, go on.. kiss it-- kiss it
- feverjunk, on 10/21/2007, -7/+37Never happen. If white people had 2 out spoken individuals like Sharpton and Jackson right away they would be considered KKK, hatemongers, and so on. Just a few weeks ago in NYC a black guy punched an elderly white women and robed her. Never heard anything on that. Turn it around and well....I think you know the outcome.
- LiberalsSuckAss, on 10/21/2007, -2/+31I always find it humorous - no wait, I find it infuriating - that Jesse and Al are referred to as "Reverend."
They bring shame to the title. There's nothing Godly or holy about the hate and idiocy they spew. The same can be said for Farrakhan, but since he's got his own self-made brand of religion, I'll leave him out of it.
If I were clergy, I would campaign against their use of that title. Oh wait, I couldn't do that, could I? Because I'm white. - HardSide, on 10/21/2007, -10/+38Sharpton apologizing? Never...
Just got to work, scouring youtube, apparently Howard University campus president started talking about racism and Imus, and from what I heard on the radio he said something to the extent of "the problem is not racism, its white people, they should all be exterminated"
Trying to find the video now, heard it on Free-FM NY 92.3 - aurorous, on 10/21/2007, -3/+30Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh have both been called far worse than racist hate mongers.
I'm not saying they don't deserve it. But Sharpton and Jackson are no better and they are NEVER EVER called on it. - drshane, on 10/21/2007, -3/+30It might happen, but anyone caught reporting on it will likely be fired for racist journalism. (not exactly FREE speech)
"Reverend" - my ass he is. - Myko, on 10/21/2007, -2/+25gord: your reading comprehension must improve, he didn't suggest it was Sharpton who said that.
- ChumpChief, on 10/21/2007, -2/+23Believe it or not, both liberals and conservatives find this "justice" thing to be a good idea.
- kesin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I just think that this whole politically correct nation is getting out of control....including digg
- bebopredux, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Time to expose the overwhelming double standard these race baiters get a free pass on.
What price did Jesse Jackson pay for calling NY "HymieTown"? None.
What price did Sharpton pay for accusing a NY DA of raping and sodomizing Tawana Brawley? None. BTW, Tawana and her mom took the 300K in their donated defense fund and moved to Virgina. Sharpton REFUSES to apologize.
Imagine starting up a "White" television network? What an uproar that would cause eh? Then why the free pass for Black Entertainment Television? Why the free pass for "Ebony" magazine? Why the free pass for "Jet" magazine? Why has nobody got the balls to confront this double standard? Why does Senator Robert Byrd (yes, the former KKK member no less) get a free pass for saying "the N word"?
Imus used words that one can find in just about every freakin' hip hop song out there today and yet he loses his job? Is the black community going to continue to let Sharpton and Jackson speak for them? How does Chris Rock get away with what he says? Is the silent message being conveyed that only black people can call themselves disparaging names? How come no mention of the blacks who called Michael "Kramer" Richards a "white cracker" after his barrage? Is it OK to call white people insulting names if you've been called one? Aren't they just as guilty?
Fot the life of me I don't know why we let Jackson and Sharpton get rewarded for their RACIST (yes, that's what it is) agenda. Those Rutgers girls blew a chance to show themselves as classy and intelligent by stating "we're been hurt so badly". Imagine if they told Imus "we forgive you and let's forget about it"? That would have made Imus feel small and elevated themselves above the Shapton/Jackson "we smell money here" mentality/agenda.
Imus may not be one of my favs but, I don't for a minute think he's a racist. Some "forgiveness" these false "reverends" Sharpton/Jacskon have isn't it? Jesse Jackson said he would STILL give a college scholarship to the Duke accuser after the case was dropped. Bottom line? She was REWARDED by Jackson for what she did. Don Imus on the other hand was FIRED for a goofy-heat-of-the-moment attempt at hip-hop/rap banter done not malicioulsy but, as silly humor a lot of us use. He made a mistake and apologized. HAS THE DUKE ACCUSER DONT THAT YET? HAS JACKSON/SHARPTON DEMANDED THAT FROM HER?
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The media'a afraid of going after Jacskon/Sharpton because they fear Jackson/Sharpton will cry "racist" at any attempt to call them on it. - Frequency, on 10/21/2007, -1/+20Why doesn't anyone sue them for libel and slander? These two destroyed these players' reputation not in their hometown or where they live, but across the whole United States! That's MASSIVE damage that should be compensated for.
- JD52, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I think those kids also have a pretty airtight slander case against JJ and AS. Now that would be something. Prove the racism. Squash the morons.
- natbumpo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20You rock. Well said, people like you need more of a voice.
- flink405, on 10/21/2007, -3/+21I thought only white people had to apologize.
- Xandrake, on 10/21/2007, -8/+25Wait. Last time I was on Digg it was a ton of 14 year old trendy liberal kids.
Where did they all go?
Reading these comments has made me quite proud for not giving up on this site. - Schmitty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Yeah...he'll be fired  But wait, he didn't call white people by a racist name, he just wants them all dead! So it's perfectly okay!
- Desslok, on 10/21/2007, -3/+19Hypocritical racists win the day again. Figures.
- zakattack2006, on 10/21/2007, -0/+16Sharpton has been sued to the extent of $350,000
To bad the case started in 1984 when he wrongly accused someone of rape and was not settled until 1998... - pilgrim3970, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20"both Jackson and Sharpton are clergy"
In name only. They are just as embarrassing as crooked televangelists. - HardSide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18i never said al sharpton said that, i said president of howard university.
and im the ignorant one? idiot. - Liam76, on 10/21/2007, -3/+18@ zander106
Imus apoligized repeatedly since it happened. He went on Al Sharpton's radio show to say he is sorry. Al sharpton called the Duke guys rich white spoiled kids. If a black person was accused of a crime do you think anyone would get away with calling them poor black gangsta thugs? - JD52, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Magic eight ball says....
"Outlook Not so Good" - gadgetdigger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15The chances that Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson will ever apologize for anything they have ever said or done are about the same as your chances of being kicked by a unicorn in your living room.
- ibeetle, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20What can you expect from two guys from Hymietown surrounded by diamond merchants and rag heads.
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do more to hurt the black community than help it. In the near future, everyone that lived before the civil rights movement will be dead, and the only people, black or white, living will be those who have never known a truly racist society. I think as a society, most people are ready to move on, but Jackson and Sharpton constantly thrust these race issues back into the limelight. They create racism where none exists, and make all black people appear to be paranoid, litigious, and hyper-sensitive. It's because of them that everyone is afraid of offending a black person because we don't know what the current P.C. term-of-the-week is. Because of this paranoia that they're spreading, they're ostracizing the black community from the rest of society.
- kesin, on 10/21/2007, -1/+14The Duke players are suing the DA.
- GottIstTot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Hello Everyone, if you want the transcript of Al Sharpton's remarks on the case a year ago here is the link. This is from his interview on the O'reilly in April 2006.

If anyone knows if this is already posted to digg, or wants to post it, please do, this needs to be read to realize what racist bastard this guy is. He declares the guys guilty way before any trial and even after the DNA evidence showed they were innocent. Enjoy. - hightower77, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19Jesse Jackson was great in his role as Lando Calrissian.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Moral of the story: Don't be a victim of Sharpton and Jackson's racism.
