- superfuxxorr, on 03/23/2008, -3/+56To be taken seriously I'm changing my name from Jimmy to Jirack.
- Duositex, on 03/23/2008, -0/+22Shouldn't the title of this story be, "When Barack became Barry and then Barack again."?
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -3/+16Stay tuned for part 2 in this series, "When Hillary Became A Bitch."
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -13/+26stupid non story. Most young boys in America are called by some nick name that is normally given by a family member. My friends growing up were known as Eddie, charlie, Scottie, Paulie, Johnnie, jack, Lizzy, Beth, etc. Now if you talk them they preferred to be called by names like Ed or Edward, Charles, Scott, Paul, John, Elizabeth, etc. Normally the closest of relatives or life long friends stick with the nick names but everyone else uses the proper name and does not know the difference. Just another spin by the MSM to put Barry up on some pedestal as the new Messiah. Although he hates to admit it, what is he has done is very American.
- wacomwacoff, on 03/23/2008, -2/+13The article is not about his nickname. It's about his early life and career. Try reading a few paragraphs before being an ass.
- blackjack75, on 03/23/2008, -0/+11Jirac? It could get you elected president. In France.
- Enjia, on 03/23/2008, -2/+10if it had gotten 49 diggs in 4 days it would not have, it's all about how fast a story gets diggs now, not how many.
- stonewaljacksn, on 03/23/2008, -2/+10finally someone pointed that out. thank you.
- DephexTwin, on 03/23/2008, -1/+9He goes by Barack Manilow now.
- klasikahl, on 03/23/2008, -1/+9You live a sad life.
- Hypomanic, on 03/23/2008, -1/+8Except the name behind Barry isn't Bartholomew or Barrison. It's Barack. A Swahili-Arabic name. The story is about finding and accepting minority identity in America. You're a pinhead.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -4/+10go suck hillary's dick
- sdcarter, on 03/23/2008, -2/+8Psst, he IS a great guy. The media loves him because he's change and that's what we want.
- Nidy1, on 03/23/2008, -0/+6What does Chris Rock have to do with Obama? Plus, it's comedy and he's a comedian. If you're offended or something, don't listen.
- l00s3r, on 03/23/2008, -2/+7Typical politician person.
- Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 03/23/2008, -3/+8Judging by your repeated posting of these quotes and the EMPHASIS THAT YOU PUT ON CERTAIN WORDS, I am forced to conclude that you have never actually read that book. I would go as far as to compare your actions to those of our retarded media, in that you do not reveal the quote in its entire context. You also admit to not reading the article. I would imagine you don't vote, and I'm pretty sure you don't even know what any of the candidates stand for. I am therefore forced to assume that you sir, are a sheep.
- Acewrap, on 03/23/2008, -1/+6Maybe someone should tell the president.
- queestaesto, on 03/23/2008, -0/+4Retarded. Someone trying to make it look like he is trying to fit in...So many people have shortened names/nick names when younger, then change when older. Billy to William. Jenny to Jennifer. Stevie to Stephen. Lilly to Lillian. Boobs/Shorty to whatever their real name is. Article is nonsense.
- bustachops, on 03/23/2008, -5/+9What is the point of your post? Are you saying Obama is a racist? You really enjoy Chris Rock?
When Obama said TYPICAL he was implying that his grandmother had been through experiences that are TYPICAL of many whites. Perhaps a better word would have been 'COMMON'. But for you to focus on ONE WORD and not the entirety of his speech is not only lazy but a good indicator that you may be somewhat of a nit-wit. You do realize he's half white don't you?? - Sibre, on 03/23/2008, -4/+8I would digg you up, but...
Wait...no I wouldn't. For some reason, you feel the need to post the same out-of-context quotes twice in the span of a single page. You're just as bad as the media when you take quotes like that out of their original context. - vault, on 03/23/2008, -5/+9haha notice the look Alan Keyes is giving him in #12
- wacomwacoff, on 03/23/2008, -2/+6You didn't read the article, did you? It's not about his nickname. It's about his early life and career.
- theOster, on 03/23/2008, -1/+5sorry for the comment abuse, but the article is spread over 7 pages...i'll save you a mouse click:
http://www.newsweek.com/id/128633/output/print - withears, on 03/23/2008, -2/+6Too bad Chris Rock isn't running for anything. Your comment would have been interesting.
- Taciturn, on 03/23/2008, -3/+7I think it's wonderful that you lie to people to trick them into agreeing with you. A misinformed public is the key to a healthy democracy.
- badqat, on 03/23/2008, -6/+9Could you point out these 'tent camps'?
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -3/+6"The name Barack tied him more firmly to his black African father, who had left him and his white mother at a young age and later returned home to Kenya."
Yeah I can totally see why he'd want to be tied to that wonderful father. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -2/+5Barry sounds better and before you bury me hear me out: He is an American, he has spend most of his life here and is more of a member of this culture than his father's culture. Hell, you even insinuate he has a Muslim background and you're labeled a racist.
- SPThom, on 03/23/2008, -1/+4Yeah and this reporter is profiling someone who is (and may become even more so) in a position of power to help with these issues. Don't you want to know who you're voting to set the direction of the government over the next 4-8 years?
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -3/+6I will vote for him just because of that fro
- solonGFX, on 03/23/2008, -2/+5That wouldn't work. People would just call you Jizz Rack.
Especially if you have moobs. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -1/+4ONE tent city and if you bothered to watch the responses to the video this area was designated a tent city so the homeless would be safe in one place where the city can keep an eye on them. The other one is closed so actually this is not popping up as you saw but coming down. there are a certain amount of homeless in every city across the globe. What you don't see, well you probally see it with your hate america bliners on, is shanty towns like one will see in your beloven communist countries
- flip2trip, on 03/23/2008, -4/+7Can anyone tell me how this guy is potentially about to become President? He never says ANYTHING about what, or how he is going to accomplish all these great things for the country. How is it I've never heard him speak substantively about any issue?
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -2/+5no tent camps where I live
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -0/+3That makes you racist. /s
- dd12101, on 03/23/2008, -4/+7Quite the story, although, in my view, it definitely means he is unqualified to be president. The President should be representative of the people, and at least in my world, most people come from homes with parents who work hard and try to raise their kids properly. He is on a personal journey but I want no part of it.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2Dude I was a completely ***** retarded ***** way before that comment -- So you're wrong. /s
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2Yeah, cut spending .. 'uh huh.
oh yeah, the "middle class".
yeah "many situation", I keep forgetting most people who are on welfare have children which do not grow up to be on welfare. /s
Indeed now I have seen the light, It really bigoted of me to engage in broad stereotypes, hurl hollow offensive insults, and not observe the nuance of others' opinions. /s - shortysmyname, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2You do realize that your rantings make you look pyscho, don't you?
- horatiolust, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2As a "typical white person" I see Obama's supporters channeling Bennett Marko - "Barack Obama is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life"
- sagien, on 03/23/2008, -1/+3Integrity.
- wacomwacoff, on 03/23/2008, -2/+4Nice to come here and admit that you openly lie to people concerning politics. It makes all your posts here so believable and trustworthy.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2LOL, thats funny.
You reported OBAMAS words as offensive. - sdcarter, on 03/23/2008, -4/+6I see those pictures and think, "I'd hang out with that guy."
- helster83, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2As a white person, I'm starting to feel like the cavemen from the geico commericals.
- saska, on 03/23/2008, -3/+5I agree with you that it's a non-story. But I didn't read it as an attempt to put him up on a pedestal.
"Although he hates to admit it what is he has done is very American."
I'm pretty sure that not only does he NOT hate to admit it, but he points it out in every stump speech. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -1/+3Dude this was always true, it just came out ... in the early 90's. Perhaps the same about Barry ... 'um I mean Barrack.
- Anzat, on 03/23/2008, -1/+3Read the whole book.
- rossisdead, on 03/23/2008, -1/+3Definitely, I feel like I could go to a disco with him
