- Rotzooi, on 01/03/2008, -10/+135Where the ***** is Dennis Kucinich?!
Now I'm matched with Barack. Not bad, but Dennis ftw. - thredden, on 01/03/2008, -21/+90Your position in comparison with the candidates.
You have responded to 36 propositions. Based on the responses you provided, you are the closest to
Ron Paul and you are the furthest away from Fred Thompson
freakin sweet - SRSco, on 01/03/2008, -12/+66Nobody cares about any of your results.
- Platinumwolf, on 01/03/2008, -6/+47Buried because it doesn't include the entire field of candidates.
- swaddict, on 01/03/2008, -2/+39my condolences
- NielsJonker, on 01/03/2008, -3/+40I am actually closest to John Edwards. According to these guys, I am more left wing than all the candidates. I am above and left of all the democratic candidates. But then again, I'm European, we are used to having social welfare and stuff, so my opinion is pretty irrelevant here. Still a really cool application....
- XopherY, on 01/03/2008, -6/+38I could have written that comment, myself.
Here's my self-assessed progression of candidates:
1. Dennis Kucinich
2. Barack Obama/John Edwards (tied)
4. None of the Above
I'd probably vote for Ron Paul over Hillary Clinton, but that would definitely be a case of the "lesser of two weevils". (And I'd be pining for a home in New Zealand or a Scandinavian country if those were my only choices. Shudder...) - inactive, on 01/03/2008, -2/+33America was founded by people who left Europe.
- truthstream, on 01/03/2008, -19/+48Im closest to Obama, farthest from Thompson. Seems about right, but Im supporting Paul because of his stance on civil liberties. I will sacrifice health care and other things in order to restore our Constitution (I hop this isnt a duplicate post by me - the last try didnt seem to go through)
- 10lbhammer, on 01/03/2008, -1/+28exactly what I came here to say. I matched up most closely with obama, but I still like kucinich better...
- mattsw84, on 01/03/2008, -0/+24Did you notice how far Paul was away from everyone?
- ordig, on 01/03/2008, -3/+27 I am 71% more progressive than Huckabee. Does that mean I am 71% more evolved?
- swordedge, on 01/03/2008, -3/+25Closest to Ron Paul and farthest from Fred, just like you.
No candidates in my quadrant. Apparently, I should be a Libertarian as their quadrant is upper right - tehbored, on 01/03/2008, -2/+20Kucinich isn't on the little chart thing, but I'm closest to Obama.
- ben_nushmut, on 01/03/2008, -0/+18Also, where's Joe Biden? And Chris Dodd? And Mike Gravel? They may not win, but, let's face it, neither will Thompson or St. Rudy.
- DeviantDragon, on 01/03/2008, -6/+24All in all I'd say we're doing pretty damn good, really.
- theblooms, on 01/03/2008, -1/+19Pretty ***** good if you ask me!
- JMV290, on 01/03/2008, -0/+17I was wondering the same thing. I got Obama and realized that Kucinich was missing.
- DookieCantRead, on 01/03/2008, -1/+18Buried for lack of Kucinich and Gravel.
- truthstream, on 01/03/2008, -2/+19Interesting - I have a substantive agreement of 69% with ron paul compared to 68% with obama but Im a closer match to obama...
Ron Paul
You are 17% economic left
You are 29% more progressive
You have a substantive agreement of 69%
Barack Obama
You are 27% economic right
You are 4% more traditional
You have a substantive agreement of 68% - doctechnical, on 01/03/2008, -3/+19Waitaminnit... First question:
"People should have a background check and obtain a license before they can buy a gun"
In order, yes and no. Yes, there should be a background check to weed out felons, no, you should not need a license to own a firearm any more than you should need a license to engage in free speech.
Meh. Discarded out of hand. - sienar, on 01/03/2008, -2/+16it stopped working because all the socialist idiots we left behind came and screwed it up
- malakite33, on 01/03/2008, -7/+21Closet to Ron Paul Furthest from Obama. Wouldn't have thought that about Obama myself but...if the compass says so
- swordedge, on 01/03/2008, -2/+15good application, I had trouble answering some questions. Stem cells for example, take them from embryos that are going to be destroyed anyway, do not create new ones for this purpose. That option was not there.
74% Paul - holzp, on 01/03/2008, -0/+13And if you take away welfare, health care, guns and the United States they all fit into the same place!
- Jo9100, on 01/03/2008, -1/+14where are kucinich, gravel, dodd, biden and hunter? hello neutrality
- Ajajadude, on 01/03/2008, -3/+15Apparently, I'm an Obama man. And far from a Thompson guy.
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -5/+17***** YOU FRANK
- swaddict, on 01/03/2008, -5/+17Same on Obama and Thompson, but also supporting Paul. I'm not sold on Obama's record, whereas Paul's is clear and consistent. The man never voted for his own pay raise, gives money back, and never took medicare money. Who was the last politician who could say that?
- reed311, on 01/03/2008, -6/+18He introduced a bill that defines life at conception, making it a requirement for states to consider abortion as murder (as you would be ending a human life). Second, abortion is part of our implied right to privacy and therefore a constitutional right cannot be regulated at a state level. Ron Paul does not understand this very basic facet of Government, as he is blinded by his hatred of abortion. Third, he has already voted twice to ban abortion at a federal level.
Just like his deceitful act of putting in earmarks and bills and then voting against them, to make it look like he's never voted to spend tax payer money; he is the same way with abortion. - Thequestion, on 01/03/2008, -0/+11Russ Feingold.
- tattertech, on 01/03/2008, -0/+9Yeah the drug enforcement one, I didn't want government money going to either fighting drug traffic or medical expenses...
- oMeSSiaHo, on 01/03/2008, -2/+11Close to Obama far from Thompson but I already knew that.
I like how people are justifying their results. "Candidate X is most likely to do what I want but I really like candidate Y so I'm voting for him". Isnt this how we got in this mess to begin with?!
Vote on the issues, not the personality. - oMeSSiaHo, on 01/03/2008, -4/+13But there are other candidates who support civil liberties. Why do you people always seem to forget that.
You can say Ron Paul wants to give the decision to states but I think that is a subversive way to ban it. Obviously conservative states will indeed ban it therefor limiting civil rights. Its the same deal with gay marriage.
While I agree that the federal government should not be overly powerful, protecting civil rights for ALL Americans should be something they do. - LordSkywalker, on 01/03/2008, -8/+17Paul with 74%. Barack was lowest, though I'd personally say Clinton is who I disagree with most.
- ZenMojo, on 01/03/2008, -0/+9Then, yes, there's a YES or NO answer. If you believe gay marriage should be legal, then vote AGREE. If not, DISAGREE. If you can't express an opinion one way or the other or believe the government shouldn't be involved, then say you're NEUTRAL, and if you don't care, put NO OPINION. What's so complicated?
- DucoNihilum, on 01/03/2008, -3/+12Socialist.
- noahhoward, on 01/03/2008, -0/+9... but felons wouldn't pass a background check...
- unclerichard, on 01/03/2008, -0/+8I saw Giuliani on the chart. Does it mean he has political views?
- MSF2, on 01/03/2008, -2/+10Hey I just noticed: If you take out the Iraq, national security, and terrorism issues Paul and Giuliani basically switch places on the graph.
- Clark3934, on 01/03/2008, -0/+8Ah yes... the "European dollar"
- allaboutdatiki, on 01/03/2008, -5/+13No Joe Biden or Chris Dodd? And what about Kucinich's impossibly fantastic to-die-for wife?
- drachemorder, on 01/03/2008, -2/+10"it took me about 15 minutes to figure out that I was supposed to lick on my pencil."
I've done that before. It doesn't really taste all that good, and you might get lead poisoning. - vuke69, on 01/03/2008, -0/+7"Closet" "Furtherest"
That's funny ***** right there. - archimago42, on 01/03/2008, -4/+11Obama has an intense record of fighting for civil rights and liberties in the courts. He would correct all the unconstitutional blunders that have been made and actually believes that EVERYONE should have the same rights.
Ron Paul thinks homosexuals are deviant sinners and would let them be treated like second class citizens by many states. If we did that 80 years ago black people still would be without the ability to vote or legally own property in the south. He also denies all modern science by asserting the same ridiculous theological ethos as Huckabee!
You want a libertarian that is staunchly against government spending to be in charge of our scientific future when he doesn't even believe in radiation? He also doesn't believe in the constant C for the speed of light and thus doesn't believe GPS works or that special relativity exists. We make adjustments for these things in science to make our technology work.
Wait, he never said that, you lie! He doesn't believe carbon dating works, therefore he doesn't believe in half-life and the radiological breakdown of material. If you deny the parts of science that you don't like you inadvertently deny the laws that govern most of modern technology. That is Ron Paul, a fool. - TheSwashbuckler, on 01/03/2008, -0/+7How very sad for you and your family...
- swaddict, on 01/03/2008, -1/+8Agreed, some were too vague. On government money vs vouchers for schools, it did not specify local, state or federal money.
- aussieNickuss, on 01/03/2008, -2/+9Is it "cool" to be aligned with Ron Paul?
- alphasixtyone, on 01/03/2008, -0/+7dollar?
- CondoleezzaRice, on 01/03/2008, -3/+10Closest: Ron Paul
Furthest: Barack Obama
Interesting how Digg supports both. I did get to learn a lot about Barack Obama though (and discover how much I disagree with him). He's very close to Hillary Clinton in policy. -
