- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -21/+142they have the same puppetmaster
- Evilblobs, on 08/08/2008, -31/+147They both like
a) Big Government
b) War
c) Corporatism (meet the new Facism)
d) Socialism (just no taxes if you elect the moron McCain)
d) The nice big checks that big corporations give them.
I dont particularly like Bob Barr... so can i still say Paul '08? - CoolHandLuke70, on 08/08/2008, -26/+114They are both douche bags.
- V3n0M, on 08/08/2008, -10/+97Go Rolling Stone!
I'm surprised to see such a mainstream source discussing this so honestly. Impressive! - Catspaw, on 08/08/2008, -16/+95That article didn't mention the influence of the Federal Reserve, the private bank that controls politicians. Obama and McCain will both be controlled by the operators of the Fed. Evidence indicates that these are THE puppetmasters and includes people like the Rockefeller family.

- Thinbev, on 08/08/2008, -9/+53Today's politicians aren't in office to defend our rights and constitution. These Republican and Democrat clowns are greedy and lazy who just "make deals" with their corporate buddies so they can feed their families and buy their second homes.
We urgently need to get more and more small government, pro-Freedom, pro-Low Taxes, pro-Constitution people elected into all positions of government ASAP.
Big government won't solve our problems. We need less government and less regulations. When are we going to learn that politicians, with their power to tax and regulate our lives, don't have the answers to fix our problems? We need these losers out of the way and out of our pockets!!
Visit: CampaignForLiberty.com - jfej004, on 08/08/2008, -6/+50R's and D's got us into this mess, and they sure as hell aren't going to get us out of it...
- silentboom, on 08/08/2008, -6/+46If you keep putting your vote in the R or D column ...how will anything ever change?????? Vote third party now!!!!!
- LumpyRevolution, on 08/08/2008, -14/+50VOTE! Vote against them. If you don't know what your vote truly means then find out! It ONLY is an expression of your conscience... ONLY!
You want to vote to "win"? If you actually think that way you are an ignorant fool.
Find somebody, anybody, show up to vote, VOTE AGAINST THEM!
50% of the people do not vote! If only another 20% showed up to vote, we would stop this madness!!! (even if they win)
We all know these guys are lousy and media's picks, etc. Shut off your T.V. and VOTE AGAINST THEM!!!!!!! - Technohamster, on 08/08/2008, -4/+39I'm from Canada. We have four and a half parties. It doesn't change things as much as you hope.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -10/+45These two are members of the Congress with the lowest approval ever and we are supposed to believe they are popular?
I see an election where third party candidates will be getting a lot of votes. All of my friends who had been previously nonvoters have registered as voters. They are not going to vote for OBushma or McSame.
They are not united for a candidate but are united against OBushma and McSame.
I spoke to a group of high school students and they all had registered if they were old enough and those who were not old enough wanted to register. I have never seen so many teenagers agreeing on something like this ever.
This election should be one for the record books and I personally hope that a third party candidate wins.
I am not 100% in favor of Barr but the Libertarian Party has had success in getting nationwide ballot access which is essential to beat the members of the D&R gang. - LumpyRevolution, on 08/08/2008, -8/+40Unless Ron Paul endorses Barr (unlikely if not downright stupid) I will be writing in Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin. Vote Nader if you want. I don't care just VOTE AGAINST THESE JERKS AND FOCUS MORE ON CONGRESS!!!!!!!!!
- Scarecrow23, on 08/08/2008, -6/+36What we really need is a "NONE OF THE ABOVE" box on ALL Election ballots so the people can cast a vote of "NO CONFIDENCE" if we dont like ANY of the choices given...
- TruthExposed, on 08/08/2008, -6/+36"Socialism (just no taxes if you elect the moron McCain)"
I have to disagree here on the grounds that inflation is a tax.

- byates5637, on 08/08/2008, -14/+41The people are slowly waking up, now that it is too late. If only they opened there eyes back when Ron Paul had a chance...
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -1/+22the sell false hope for positive change.
- bludhound, on 08/09/2008, -5/+24This is one of the best political articles submitted to Digg all year. The Repubs and Dems have a pretty good scam going, both being sides of the same ugly coin. Obama and his platitudes of "change", McCain and his "experience". Both will ensure that the average citizen will get screwed. A third party might work, but the 2 parties have rigged the system, making it almost impossible for a new member to their pajama party.
- PeaceChicken, on 08/08/2008, -4/+23Love for the Federal Reserve.
- madcat033, on 08/08/2008, -3/+21I know... I was pretty shocked this came from Rolling Stone as well. I wish every American would read this.
- AlaskaLoneWolf, on 08/08/2008, -7/+24They both have absolutely NO idea what they'd be getting themselves into... the Hardest Job in the Universe. They can bather all they want. Spin here, spin there... it's amazing how much they talk about each other rather than what they will swear under oath to do. Kinda' like a job interview where the prospect only talks about how much of a douche the guy in the waiting room was before he came in for HIS interview. Gimme' a break. Liked the article though. Pointed. Even for RS
- pdgaston, on 08/08/2008, -9/+25What do they have in common? Neither is Ron Paul.
- alk509, on 08/09/2008, -1/+16Are you ***** kidding me? What do you call the massive bailouts that he now endorses for financial institutions? Where do you think that money is coming from, his wife's fortune? Did you even RTFA?
"Socialism when they need it and capitalism when they need that."
This is just ***** depressing. - inactive, on 08/08/2008, -8/+23Please register with Rolling Stone and comment on the story!
DO IT! ( please ; ) - langdonalger, on 08/09/2008, -0/+14nah, only Barack's father was a brother. his mother was white.
- Lawofnations, on 08/08/2008, -15/+30What do John McCain and Barack Obama have in common? Uhm, oh yeh, their mother and father are brothers.
- artofficial, on 08/09/2008, -1/+14Both have "inconsistencies," pay attention.
- MrWhite7, on 08/09/2008, -1/+13So is Obama!!!
The Senate is part of Congress!!! - muckemuck, on 08/08/2008, -1/+13In some states the third parties need to get a certain percentage of the vote or they have to go through the process of gathering tens of thousands of signatures just to be on the ballot again. Don't write anyone in if your state has this rule. The third parties have to waste loads of time and money each election just to get on the ballot.
- krnldmp, on 08/09/2008, -3/+1440% of voting USA is registered Independent. We're not as stupid as some would like you to believe.
- krnldmp, on 08/09/2008, -1/+10Neither cares about any people. The parties are about herding Power.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -5/+14Oddly, there's not a single instance of "immig*" either here or in the article, yet that's the major topic on which BHO and McCain agree.
And, for those who don't want McCain or BHO - and who want to actually do something - go ask them a real question on videotape and upload it to Youtube:
http://nomoreblather.com/question100
They only way to show that they aren't qualified is to ask them real questions, and the MSM isn't going to do that. - twyphoon, on 08/09/2008, -1/+10the la li lu le lo?
- jorichter, on 08/09/2008, -7/+16Take that politics!
Signed,
RollingStone - silentboom, on 08/08/2008, -3/+11Write in's are thrown out in nearly every state. Don't waste an important vote when a third party finally has the chance to gain support.
- muckemuck, on 08/08/2008, -2/+10I keep waiting to hear the word "amnesty" used in the mainstream media in reference to McCain. I've been waiting months. They seem to have forgotten about his past work with Ted Kennedy on amnesty. I haven't.
- inactive, on 08/09/2008, -2/+10Put Ron Paul on the cover, Jann Wenner.
- krnldmp, on 08/09/2008, -0/+8whoever's got the dough
- artofficial, on 08/09/2008, -1/+9I agree that I am not fond of either candidate. Voting third party seemed like a good idea to balance this, but alas, I found myself agreeing with very little of candidates in that category as well. I think the public, or at least myself, have lost faith in our political system. I look out the window and all I see is big business running the show, and the government being torn apart by its own people...
I wish I could make a change, but I'm not sure what that would be. Anyone claiming to know "the answer," seems indignant to me.
I just wish there was something more to it. - Smwbigboss, on 08/09/2008, -1/+9That doesn't exactly work. If you look at world politics, you'd see that countries with many political parties have the same problems because different parties tend to group together. The biggest change you could do right now is make lobbying illegal like it is in Canada. Its considered a form of bribery there. I have no clue why its not considered that here in the US.
- walkea1, on 08/09/2008, -0/+7you're one of those people who equates everything to the Dark Knight, aren't you?
- kaelyiesta, on 08/09/2008, -1/+7Read the ***** article.
Is that too vague? - TheOther1, on 08/09/2008, -0/+6If only 1/2 the people that voted for American ***** Idol cared enough to get off thier asses and go vote in an election, any election,,,
- smileydude, on 08/09/2008, -4/+10Who knows — maybe Barack Obama will surprise us if he wins the election. But if you look at the money, it doesn't look good.
Who is the most likely to surprise us? Easy call. - krnldmp, on 08/09/2008, -0/+5Rolling Stone needs digg buttons.
- kylere, on 08/09/2008, -8/+13Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
If abortion was not an issue telling a democrat from a republican would be impossible - kaelyiesta, on 08/09/2008, -0/+5You are so absurdly blind...
Did you not even bother to read the article? You seem to be just using those words rather than understanding their meaning. And if you don't care to read the article, then at least look at it's source: the published money trail that bought these politicians. - alk509, on 08/09/2008, -0/+5Young Marklar, your marklars are wise and true. Why the ***** we allow our political process to be subverted and bought out by small groups whose interests run counter to those of the American people, I'll never know.
- Greyscale88, on 08/09/2008, -0/+5Not for nothing, but I'm pretty sure Gore's been yelping about Climate Change since the 80's when he was in the Senate.
