- brad3378, on 08/27/2008, -8/+54Now THAT is a great political advertisement!
- kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -8/+45I absolutely love that billboard!
- Mudhoney, on 08/27/2008, -7/+40Now THIS is freedom in action. People coming together without corporate or government help, willing to voluntarily spread a message. Not even a message that favors a personal agenda, but a message that supports freedom for everyone, even though everyone might see things differently as you. Freedom, tolerance, and peace are all connected, and it's time that people embrace them over collectivist attitudes.
- Arcueid01, on 08/27/2008, -9/+34WOW, fantastic guys. It is nice to see that we have people spreading the truth of the ***** politics that are plaguing our great nation. I would like to thank Ron Paul and all of the supporters that made this possible. It is beautiful! God I wish the rest of the politicians would get their heads out of their asses as well as the people who elect them. WOW!
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -8/+31That's a great place to put the sign. We need to be reminded that every dollar spent in Iraq is borrowed from unborn Americans who will have to pony up for the cost of the undeclared war plus interest.
If you hate the next generation vote for Obushma or McSame. - colihondro, on 08/27/2008, -5/+25This billboard couldn't be in a better city. My girlfriend (on a trip with her family) drove across the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis about a week before it fell - otherwise I may not have thought so much about the tragedy, being slightly desensitized to this kind of news.
Bless the families who lost people in that disaster, bless those who have lost loved ones in Iraq, and bless those who are spreading the word about Ron Paul and his amazing book. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -4/+21Awesome -just awesome! I agree with colihondro above - our best to all r3VOLution freedom fighters!
- kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -4/+16I cannot believe the base inanity of the ad hominum team of trolls that swarms every Ron Paul thread.
You people are really lame. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -8/+20I have to laugh at the lamers and haters and political cowards who flock to every single thread that has any connection at all to Ron Paul.
The liars and schemers and duplicate accounts are fading fast because their tired old lies are either dugg down or ignored.
Ron Paul was the best candidate for the GOP and they made a huge error by smearing him and denouncing him because his ideas were sound and he was telling the truth.
He still holds the single day donation record and the single day new donors record.
He still has people buying his book and donating to his cause. Thankfully after they created the campaign for liberty donation limits no longer applied and I could donate even more money. I have been a Ron Paul supporter for decades and consider my donations to his campaigns as money well spent. He has the best record of adherence to the Constitution, and is the only member of Congress to return a portion of his office budget back to the treasury. He does not participate in the lucrative pension plan the crooks in Congress cooked up.While he was in private practice he routinely waived his fee if the patient was unable to pay it or if it would have caused a hardship.
He has done more for health care for the poor than all of the rest of the members of Congress put together.
The line-up for the rally looks like it will be a lot of fun with Sara Evans and Jimmy Vaughn along with distinguished scholars and speakers.
Unlike the Republican Convention there is no separate place for protesters because in all likelihood there will be none.
Freedom is popular. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+11That's where the money was supposed to do but they collect the tax on fuel and put it into the general fund and appropriate it from there. This means that the money that was supposed to pay for roads and bridges joined the trillions of dollars the government cannot account for.
Bob Barr will be on the ballot. Ron Paul won't unless the GOP wakes up and realizes McSame is unelectable and will be the next Bob Dole.
Of course we still have some lamers and haters and political cowards who go from thread to thread bashing Ron Paul. They are the same ones that told us Ron Paul would lose his seat to a guy named Peden. If you have never heard of him it is probably because he barely registered as a candidate and was soundly beaten in the primary by Ron Paul.
These same people are just angry.
They have no solutions other than to promote McSame or OBushma and we all know that neither of them are qualified to be president.
So, I would urge you to cast your ballot for Barr. He's the only chance we have to change the direction this country is going.
- kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -5/+14$10 hard back. It's the ideas not the money.
If it were about the money, why would Ron Paul reject the hugely lucrative congressional pension that every other congresscritter gladly accepts? Shouldn't you be focusing on them and their fleecing of the American taxpayer?
Even if Paul is after money, he at least seeks it via free interaction, not coercion.
SSN please criticize where criticism is due. - Gavin, on 08/27/2008, -7/+15Wow can't wait to prove you wrong.
- Striker101, on 08/27/2008, -5/+13Yep, great billboard.
Point - aren't our gas taxes supposed to fund highways and bridges? Those which McCain proposes suspending?
However, Bob Barr would be no substitute for RP. I'll be writing in Ron Paul. - hautediggity, on 08/27/2008, -4/+11yea sportsstar67 & herkimer56, you tell 'em.
& when you're done w/your baseless rambling, you will only prove that the truly stupid, lame, pathetic, and inept clowns are those who fail to see that both the gop faithful and mainstream media puppets have been making total asses out of every american that bought into the lies and slurs they spread about ron paul. - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -6/+13You prove your stupidity every day.
- V3n0M, on 08/27/2008, -4/+11Thank God this had nothing to do with the "RNC Welcoming Committee" (title scared me!)
- kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -5/+12I debated for a while whether to even respond to your twin-headed inanity. Finally, I decided, why not?
Let's first review the billboard:
- It presents a quote from Paul's book analyzing the ridiculousness of spending money for war efforts and rebuilding in Iraq (which happens to line the pockets of cozy "defense" contractors), while highlighting the declining state of affairs in the domestic economy.
(The book is selling for $10 in hard back BTW, not much profit margin there - this is an IDEA spreading tool.)
- The billboard is intended to make anyone in the area, including those attending the convention, TO THINK. It also hopes to get people to understand how overseas war efforts, paid for out of taxpayers' pockets, really do HIT HOME. Notice the economy rolling over?
Now let's review Sportsstar67, a known troll, and his comments:
"The people are going to the convention to get drunk and party..No one is going to read a billboard or watch a DVD....These are not true political events, they are an excuse to party hardy....McCain 08"
Who knows if this statement is the true state of affairs or not. If it is, well *****, no wonder our country is so *****. If we have a bunch of mindless morons drinking and BS-ing and letting corrupt power hungry stooges get away with murder while they slap each others' backs and huck it up in partisan tomfoolery, than hell, we're likely all screwed once reality slaps the hell out of everyone when the ***** hits the fan.
By making a statement of the sort the SS troll did above, it apologizes and sanctions such mindless ridiculousness. Do you support the debasement of the American Republic?
Finally, Herkimer, another infamous troll extraordinaire, with no stated motivation that I can ever recall reading out of hundreds, if not thousands, of quotes of yours I have read (very questionable off the bat), you are trying to say that sending money to Ron Paul's presidential campaign makes one as stupid as what has been wholly evidenced in SS's extensive comment history?
I'll give you a quick break down:
- I knew Paul likely would not win. Look at the media response to him. Look at the Republican war mongers and party hacks and their response. Look at the mentality of many common voters wanting to be on the "winning team". Look at people across the board laying the foundation for a self-fulfilling prophecy with the "he can't win" statements from the beginning. I figured from the beginning the odds were incredibly long.
- I supported Paul monetarily and through other actions, in spite of the reality noted above.
- The reasoning was that, for me and other like minded individuals to ever make good things ever happen politically, we have to break the gridlock imposed by folks such as yourselves who insist upon hating anything that may disrupt the corrupt apple cart. I decided that was worth it. I also knew that by contributing with others, we could potentially gain some recognition for fundraising prowess, which did occur and was still sidelined quite a bit, but whatever. Finally, I donated, even knowing the odds were long, for the reason of helping to lay the groundwork for LONG TERM change. Yes this election may not go the way I would like to see it go, but it is inarguable that there is a much more cohesive, determined and well thought group of individuals now who are ready to combine efforts for liberty and limited government. From what I got out of the process, I received much more than any donations I had made.
I realize that it is probably as likely that the sun won't come up tomorrow as it is that you died in the wool trolls will actually listen to, and consider, reason, but I decided to take you up for the hell of it. Thanks for your considered reaction to this post and may it be the most rational response you have ever had.
Peace. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7Please don't write in Ron Paul.
Make your vote count and vote for Barr.
The Republicans are not going to listen to Paul, they are not going to return to their principles, the Republican party is never going to return your liberty, so we have to find another vehicle. That other vehicle has to be the Libertarian party. Please don't be a perfectionist, just vote to keep us moving ahead.
BobBarr2008 - americangoy, on 08/28/2008, -0/+7Simply awesome.
Gee, I wonder which media outlet will cover this?
CNN... FOX...ABC...
Gee.... I guess NONE of them will... - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -2/+9@ssn697,
you make a convincing argument by inviting me to do to Ron Paul what you are apparently accustomed to doing. Although you may enjoy doing that, I would prefer not to try, thanks anyway.
By the way, I am as far from a sycophant as you are likely to encounter, but I do want to see this once great country recover itself. I follow no man, but realize that the populace needs to focus on someone and on a party to break the straglehold of the OneParty and the Mainstream Media. Ron Paul was the best alternative to get people to advocate liberty and anti-war politics.
Now Bob Barr is the best alternative.
"but if I say I don't want "God" making any decisions in government, or I am a woman who wants to control my body, or I look up to Martin Luther King, you tell me to shut up, because YOUR "liberty" is the only correct "liberty"."
Does Bob barr advocate giving decision-making authority to God? Sorry, I didn't ever hear that from, nor from Ron Paul eithr. Don't twist things.
Neither Paul nor Barr would dream of stopping a women from controlling her body, however they do believe that the states should decide the rights of the other human being that is living inside her.
Ron Paul is not a racist, the few issues of his magazine have been clearly explained. It is a nonissue. Bob Barr is also no racist.
I have not told you to shut up and wouldn't do so using this medium upon which we are conversing. I find it uniquely cowardly to tell someone to shut up, or to insult them on these comment streams. When I insult someone I do it in their face. That is because I am a gentleman, not a coward. - kemp34, on 08/28/2008, -1/+7Classy, SSN, classy.
How many straw man can you erect and beat up in one post? Your misplaced frustration is combining with moderate willful ignorance and it is really showing.
Please show some decorum.
Thanks. - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -5/+11Hard back on sale for $10, huge profit margins!
- RuffRidr, on 08/27/2008, -3/+9sportsstar67: He has no chance of what? You do realize that he is no longer running for President and that is not what the campaign for Liberty is about, don't you?
- kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -7/+12#1 NYT Bestseller nimwit. Also, the reason it is low priced at this point is to sell more books to spread the message.
Herkimer are you a Satanist? - Minarchian, on 08/27/2008, -2/+7Oh?
But Obama and McCain *are* qualified?
Dumbass....you're stupidity slays me! - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -7/+12Please admit that you have nothing better to do than troll and disrupt comment threads with smears. Admit it and I'll respect you more than if you deny it.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5Ron Paul is the man, but please vote for Bob Barr
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5_Donate money to someone who was in no way qualified to be president and was Never serious about being president ? _
I really wish for your sake your father had decided to catch you after tossing you in the air. Then again, father knows best. I'm sure he kicks himself for not tossing you higher. - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -3/+8Good one. Great argument against the sentiment of the billboard. Winning argument!
- bushfocker, on 08/27/2008, -2/+6Excellent book if you haven't read it, Ron Paul is da man. ***** Mccain 08
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4Writing in Ron Paul is an exercise in futility. You'd be far better off voting for the Constitution or Libertarian candidate. I will be voting for Baldwin since I don't trust Barr. I had initially planned to write in Paul myself but have decided against it since he hasn't named himself as a potential write-in candidate.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -7/+10Yeah, I just CAN'T STAND when people support and give their own money to any old case they please!!111!!! Who the HELL do they think they are??
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -6/+9I take it that you donated to Dr. Paul's campaign, which is why you're so pissed. Right?
- kemp34, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3I hope they start coming to their sense. One can dream, right?
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -10/+13No, that is a book advertisement...
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -6/+9@kemp34
No he's just frustrated. I can't imagine the mental workings of these fellows who are so dedicated to tearing down a humble movement towards liberty.
It would be easy to understand vassals of the powerful that would dedicate themselves to opposing a freedom movement if it looked like that movement was threatening the status quo.
But I don't think that's the case here. I think that Herkimer and ssn697 and their buddies are just really pathetic losers that realize that the rich and powerful scoff at Ron Paul and the liberty movement, so maybe if they scoff at him too, that they will be taken to be rich and powerful too. They just come off as pathetic - Striker101, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Seems like nobody "gets it" today. Barr is a psuedo-libertarian whom I asked several times to address our main issue of economic collapse, but nothing happened other than more donation requests. Ron Paul won't win either, but he's the best way to say NO. Anyone who expects their votes to count or mean anything dropped their thinking cap.
If the Fed is not leashed, the collapse is inevitable. If that happens, nothing else will matter.
http://morality101.net - go there, study just a bit, and do some real bloggin' - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -4/+7Nomorepaul, enough of the tired smear. The Dallas NAACP president was on an extensive interview debunking the "Ron Paul is racist" nonsense. I think I'll trust said individual over cranially-challenged digg trolls such as yourself.
And from what I know about Stormfront I can sincerely say, ***** those guys. - Minarchian, on 08/27/2008, -3/+5Ruff
It's hard to ignore the ignorant and trolls isn't it?
Especially one as clueless as Sportbuggy - NyaraSha, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2And this is what keeps my faith in the cities that are ridiculously congested by hosting conventions that use tons of money that could easily be put to better use. I'm not saying conventions aren't useful; I just wish they were a little more reasonable and didn't clog cities for days. The bridge collapse had everyone and their brother calling in here, so something like this at this point is rather brilliant.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -3/+5Your posts always remind me of why the No Child Left Behind Act was supposedly put into play. What's even scarier is the fact that you have reproduced and there is another one of you lurking about with the same double digit IQ.
- Heysal, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Great work. It also does seem that all of Congress gathers here just to digg down any Ron Paul Posts - it has to be them. Who the hell else hates the idea of a constitution and freedom like they do?
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -5/+7And it bothers you because you donated money to his campaign. Right? It must have been A LOT of money for you to dwell on it so.
I'm sorry for you deep disappointment. - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -8/+10LOL
Dude you post nothing of any value, whatsoever.
If Paul was in it for the coin, why would he reject the lucrative congressional pension? Riddle me this sir. - mindful, on 08/27/2008, -6/+7Still taking donations to offset the costs of the project!
http://alcpac.chipin.com/operation-st-paul-mn - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -6/+7On no, I bought a book for $10, I have just been fleeced!!
I don't know what to do with myself knowing how much I have been duped, I mean, BUYING A BOOK!! What was I thinking!?! - Minarchian, on 08/27/2008, -7/+8Poor SSN :-(
Go back to masturbating to your copy of "The Communist Manifesto".
No one really expects your ilk to understand what liberty means. - kemp34, on 08/27/2008, -5/+6So you are asserting his not taking the pension (direct money in pocket FOR LIFE) is all just some crazy plot to ensure that he has more supporters so he can sell more books to make money? This is your logic?
You sophists are quite far out on a limb.
Herkimer, do you practice Satanism? - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -8/+8Why does he need a pension when the dummies are willing to give up their McDonald's checks to fund his retirement? You children sure are thick.
- nomorepaul, on 08/27/2008, -9/+9Because he fleeces people like you into buying his book, while spending campaign contributions to do it. He'll make far more selling to PaulTards than from the pension.
