- shawnfassett, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6As Iraq began devolving into chaos following the invasion of 2003, Kristol offered his expertise on numerous news programs, typified by this comment from an April 2003 interview with Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air:
"I think there's been a certain amount of, frankly, Terry, a kind of pop sociology in America, that, you know, somehow the Shia can't get along with the Sunni, or the Shia in Iraq just want to establish some kind of fundamentalist regime. There's almost no evidence of that at all. Iraq has always been very secular." - iDragonFly, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Perhaps.
However, Bush is an enabler and this makes him a participant in the power abuse, so therefore, he cannot rightfully be absolved. - AgarwaenUmarth, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"Iraq has always been very secular." Back under Saddam, that is.
- toddcat, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3This guy is the worst kind of water carrier-someone who really does know better, who's not stupid (like Bush), but really understands the scope of the geopolitical clusterf**& the Middle East has become. (And that's not to say Bush isn't some evil some, but he's not nearly as knowledgeable as Kristol.
- nahsrocketeer75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Exactly. This point gets lost all the time in the orgy of Bush-bashing: He's just a simple idiot; many of those around him and many of the administration's cheerleaders, including Kristol, *do* know better but they don't have the courage to step outside of their assigned roles and acknowledge their contributions to this disaster.
- jtb4, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I don't know about you but I think Kristol's burgers are better than White Castle....
- iDragonFly, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Kristol is one of the chief architects for the mess we're living in.
The only people who see him as respectable are those few obscenely wealthy individuals who are benefiting from the demise of the average citizen. - AgarwaenUmarth, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Personally, I would've voted for Douglas.
