- greenvortex, on 08/30/2008, -31/+223I think this story cannot be stopped. This is the kind of stuff regular Americans can grasp; the kind of stuff that sells papers. I'd rather the election was decided on policies, but this is the real world.
- brian223, on 08/30/2008, -50/+228Haha, this is GOLD! The GOP is gonna be ***** when this story hits main stream. Not because Bristol had a child...that happens everyday. But because Sara is an untrustworthy person. She covered this up to to lie to her supporters and now the entire country to look better in the public eye. I have to ask, if Sara would lie to us about her daughters pregnancy, what wouldn't she lie to us about?
I was excited when she was first announced, but now she's starting to seem like typical trailer trash. The word on the street is her husband can't seem to keep his dick in his pants either. - kingofinternet, on 08/31/2008, -14/+172jesus christ american politics are ugly
time to microwave some popcorn - ooblez, on 08/31/2008, -32/+118Congratulations digg, you're now as bad as goddamn fox news. You think this is the kind of thing Obama endorses? Hell no. This is dirty, underhand tactics meant to undermine someone's creditability. You whinge about the smears faux news shows then you rally behind something like this. shame on you.
- TinternAbbot, on 08/31/2008, -15/+98"Would a 44-year-old woman with four kids out of diapers, embarking on her first governorship, really get pregnant?"
She would if she was sexually active and pro-life, sure. Next. - algaeturd, on 08/31/2008, -22/+100The only thing dumber than people who completely are convinced that this is true are the people who are convinced it's NOT true. There isn't enough evidence to state for sure yet but you can rest assured that the truth will come out. And then we'll know. But all of these people getting on here and suggesting that anyone who believes this is an idiot, is an idiot themselves.
You don't know. I don't know. We don't know. But we can look at the evidence. No doubt the truth will surface and then if dems are wrong, republicans can make fun of them as hard as dems made fun of republicans for being stupid enough to believe that Obama is a muslim and wasn't born in America. - worldpeacenow, on 08/31/2008, -21/+98Today I watched a McCain / Palin rally in PA on CNN.. She introduced the whole family, but apologized that her youngest, Trig, was in the bus with Bristol.. At the time it seemed a bit odd that they didn't get a helper for the event, or have another family member attend to the infant. If true, this could be a bombshell!
- gi0rgi0s, on 08/31/2008, -24/+93A bunch more evidence, including suspicious pics of pregnant daughter:
http://dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/30/121350/137 ... - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -30/+98Where was the vetting team during the past few months? Sitting on their thumbs. McCain screwed the pooch this time. NO One can save him. Not even the Christian fundies.
- jmelski, on 08/31/2008, -37/+98...bummer for Palin if this turns out to be true. That would be a real downer.
- Ianki, on 08/31/2008, -25/+84Quick fact, 23/6 is satirical. People are going a little too crazy for this rumor based on completely circumstantial evidence. Might as well accuse Obama of being a werewolf because we've never seen him under a full moon.
Let's have something more substantial before you attack a women, isn't this something that we have been fighting back on for the false rumors surrounding Obama? - cjkubx, on 08/31/2008, -12/+64"SEVEN MONTHS ALONG: Even her staff was unaware that the first family was expecting a fifth child."
"That the pregnancy is so advanced astonished all who heard the news. The governor, a runner who's always been trim, simply doesn't look pregnant."
See Anchorage Daily News "Secret's out: Palin pregnant" - kingofinternet, on 08/31/2008, -3/+52http://i25.tinypic.com/903clu.jpg
- porplem, on 08/31/2008, -8/+49Wait, Trig is a name now? I had assumed it was exclusively a math.
- Frozo, on 08/31/2008, -4/+39"Go ***** yourself, Mom! If you make me get out there in front of all those freaks, I'm telling everyone the truth! I'm staying right here in this bus and my baby is staying with me too! Have any problem with that... Grandma?"
Typical teenager... lol - dstz, on 08/31/2008, -17/+52When I look at the DailyKOS page that began the filthy rumor mill (what's better than smearing a mom of a down syndrom child, really that will go well with most Americans I can bet that, they will find that HILARIOUS,) all I manage to see is some nerd trying to show how two towers can't be destroyed by mere planes. The photographic "evidence" on the kos is from about that level. Then, there is all the second guesses from people here, including the "even if we're wrong, it's still fishy, and why did she get back in Alaska after breaking the waters, bad mom, etc..." (won't fly either, she arrived in the clinic 7 hours before the birth and it was her doctors responsability anyway to allow her to fly, which wasn't really a problem in that case anyway) ...
But, keep digging. Just know this: this hole is for you. - grtrx, on 08/31/2008, -7/+41funny things happening:
the original link to the "bristol baby belly" photo, published March 9th:

the same photo in the gallery, now saying it was taken in 2006:

- cao4, on 08/31/2008, -3/+32Dark and Subtle ;)
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -7/+36If this story keeps growing, and it turns out to not be true, it will be a much larger back-lash than the Dan Rather getting fired for presenting forged documents scandal. I can see Karl Rove setting up the anti-McCains with this to create such a back-lash. Has it ever come out how the CBS team was duped and by whom? I don't think so. KR
- duckley, on 08/31/2008, -1/+29Sarah Palin's "water broke" while she was in Texas, so... Did she go to a Hospital in Texas?
NO.
She got on an airplane and FLEW BACK TO ALASKA to have her baby.
Right. - rodrigo74, on 08/31/2008, -0/+28Yeah, because French, Italian, Brazilian, Russian, Australian and Chinese politics, on the other hand, are _really_ healthy and clean.
- aratika, on 08/31/2008, -7/+35You guys don't get it. This could complete backfire completely on Kos/Huffington/Salon.
First - consider the possibility that these rumors have been swirling in Alaska and that they're not true. What would a complete evil genius like Karl Rove do?
He'd drip-feed the rumors like red meat to the blogs on the left. The RNC will not answer the question; they'll let it float out there to gain attention. Why? Because then it'll eventually get picked up by the big media outlets. The RNC will continue to let it float. Cause even more sharks will circle.
Eventually 2-3 weeks before the election, the RNC will release all legal docs that pertain to this clearing the Palin family of any cover up. Bristol will go on Oprah with her mom to talk about the hateful nature of politics. In doing so, create an enormous amount of sympathy. Every slightly chubby co-ed, every mum, every angry father will sympathize with the Palin family and despise the DNC who will be charged with guilt by association.
And the right will never let the blog left live it down.
If you're going to sling mud - take care not to hit yourself. - USArugula, on 08/31/2008, -23/+50What's the matter? Don't like the fake birth certificate treatment? They're your party's tactics.
- obliviousfool, on 08/31/2008, -16/+41Wtf? Is McCain's campaign actually trying to be inept? Someone tell me what's going on. Due to the last 8 years or so, I don't believe in accidents anymore.
- ch33sehead, on 08/31/2008, -0/+25I would crown you the king of the internet, but I see you've already crowned yourself.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -1/+25In all fairness, this smear isn't from the Obama camp, this is from DailyKos which isn't exactly known for ethics or honesty.
- DFutureIsNow, on 08/31/2008, -18/+39It makes perfect sense think about it, Palin learns her daughter is pregnant and to avoid the scandal of having to reveal her daughter is preggers the family decides the mother, Palin, would fake a pregnancy and actually take it "to term", but the evidence is undeniable, if I had seen that girl walking down the street I would say she is pregnant, thats not belly fat if anything thats "baby fat" for sure.
- joeanon, on 08/31/2008, -2/+23Good observation !
- lanemik, on 08/31/2008, -11/+31McCain should maybe have met her for more than 15 minutes before he chose her to be his running mate.
Whoopse. - junkalam, on 08/31/2008, -13/+32Here is a video of Sarah Palin being interviewed while she's supposedly more than 8 months pregnant. You be the judge....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS2Gpk5KL8I - tigerglebe, on 08/31/2008, -2/+22Yes, but then look at that wonderful picture from around that time showing a lovely baby bump on her daughter and the lack of one on her.
- UrinalPooper, on 08/31/2008, -13/+32So... just taking some math here, which is more likely? A 16 year old having a mongoloid baby or a 44 year old? (The odds are about 1 in 1400 vs 1 in 100). I'm inclined to believe that her dusty old eggs lead to a trisomy.
Sure, attack her for her political opinions all you want, but this conspiracy theory crap just lowers the level of debate. Her judgement is MORE questionable when you consider how irresponsible it is to have a baby at that age. - innocentsinner, on 08/31/2008, -2/+20I think a maternity test would help more.
- Wakuko, on 08/31/2008, -2/+18For the ***** ***** ***** ***** god!
Who names his kids Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trigg??? - rodrigo74, on 08/31/2008, -1/+17Well, at least she is consistent, the other ones were named Bristol, Piper, Track and Willow.
- textrant, on 08/31/2008, -0/+16You are right. Obama MUST be a werewolf. How did noone spot this? It was so obvious...
- Vesper73, on 08/31/2008, -2/+17If only I had access to that Michael Jackson popcorn clip! Anyone?
- DoctorFaust, on 08/31/2008, -0/+15She was breastfeeding. Duh.
- riceklown, on 08/31/2008, -4/+19rald84: It's disturbing to know that you would really do that to anyone, even a lying republican, without evidence. That's a serious charge to slap across the news. You are as bad as Karl Rove!
- sodoh, on 08/31/2008, -0/+15I don't see where Obamas party released this information? Can you show us?
- WillObamaCutMyT, on 09/29/2008, -4/+18This smells like such a Rovian set up. It just seems too easy and too quick.
- valleyvideo, on 08/31/2008, -2/+15Wow -- Apologies, Cate508. I was just re-reading my post RE the Wiki entry which notes:
"Although the probability increases with maternal age, 80% of children with Down syndrome are born to women under the age of 35"
Looks like my main reason to disbelieve the conspiracy just flew out the window. - cate508, on 08/31/2008, -5/+18Or very young mothers!
- bjornski, on 08/31/2008, -0/+13Let the fundies take over your country.
You'll get them. - saikyan, on 08/31/2008, -0/+13I see what you did there
- devinmurphy, on 08/31/2008, -7/+19I'd ***** Bristol. Wouldn't you?
- Spudster, on 08/31/2008, -3/+15After seeing this photo: http://alaskareport.com/images31/palin_pregnant.jp ...
I'm gonna have to go with the DailyKOS selectively picking photos of her in the front that hide her belly.
Sometimes I'm glad to live in Canada where politics still has trace elements of civility. - sittered, on 08/31/2008, -1/+13Damn your logic! Damn it to hell!
- anamericangod, on 08/31/2008, -9/+20Holy *****, the Republican National Convention is just going to be one big Lifetime movie marathon.
