- mpeg2tom, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Maybe the news stands shouldn't be "cluttered" with the Washington Post.
- jesubub, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17The last few days of Ron Paul media blackout and bashing of his poll results provide great evidence for what the role of the mainstream media really is -- a propaganda outlet for the state. What else can you conclude?!
- had3l, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18They are right. Too many candidates mean each candidate has less time to talk, however, we are still a LONG time from the actual elections, right now people are just getting to know everyone. As the months go by, less popular candidates should start to be filtered out, but only after the media has given them a chance to introduce themselves.
Now, what is their quarrel with Mike Gravel and Ron Paul? If anything, they represent the system at it's best, the public got to know them, liked them, and now we all want them to continue appearing on debates and in the media, not because we wanna try to screw with the democratic system, but because we actually think that they are the best candidates. Now that is what is truly Democratic.
The Washington Post clearly has an agenda. They are trying to quell our efforts of bringing the ideas of Paul and Gravel to the mainstream because THEY disagree with them, not because the people disagree. It's time we start picking our own candidates, thinking for ourselves and not letting the media cherry pick their candidates.
Our voice will be heard, you can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all the people all the time. I wonder how many other great candidates were discarded from debates before the process even began and we never even had a chance to know what they stand for.
Stop saying that they are a long-shot, that's just one of many strategies to filter out Gravel and Paul from future media attention. Gravel and Paul weren't ranked high in the polls because we didn't know them, because the media didn't cover their campaigns, not because we thought he was a long shot, or didn't like him. The actual campaign JUST started, no one is a long-shot right now, polls are useless until everyone actually knows all the candidates. What you see in the polls right now is just a reflection of who is in the media, not of who people think would do the best job as President of the USA.
Now it's up to us to present an alternative to the mainstream media, get Gravel and Paul as much exposure as we can. Once people actually get to know Gravel and Paul and their stances on the issues, they will start to appear on polls. Stand up for your rights people, the power of change is in your hands, don't let the media tell you otherwise. - shortcircuit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14They clutter the debates just like the book "1984" clutters my bookshelf.
- Elwar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
- David Rockefeller to Trilateral Commission in 1991 - gmason08, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17The "Old Media" are nothing more than a well financed cattle herding apparatus. Note to OM: the cattle are catching on to you, we do not appreciate being herded, cease and desist or we cannot be responsible when you reap the whirlwind.
- bartscott57, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10More proof of media bias. We need to organize a national boycott of the worthless main$tream media. Personally, I think that the Wa$hington Po$t reporter should be inundated with emails.
When are the media going to stop being such statists? - bioslave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Cluttered with too many of the same type of candidates maybe. They're making it into a personality contest between 3 or 4 candidates with exactly the same policy agenda. How about eliminate some of the candidates with identical view points on the same issues?
- dogster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9The same money that runs the neo-cons run the Washington Post. With Paul out, there would only be neo-cons left.
I'm sure that Israel doesn't like Ron's anti-war, non-interventionist stance. But Ron wants the American people to rule. - willers32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6How about we eliminate all the political hacks that are bought and paid for by the special interests? THAT would leave Ron Paul all alone on the podium.
Ron Paul is not just the best Republican, he's the ONLY candidate in the race worth voting for. He's the only one that actually understands and intends to enforce the "supreme law of the land" known as the US Constitution. - reeder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I think we should definitely take advice from the editorial board that supported going to war with Iraq over WMDs and their imminent threat to the US.
- h3smith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I am a Paul supporter. BUT I must say, I'd rather them have axed Romney, Guilliani, and McCain and let the lesser known ones speak. Sure, I'd like to hear more of Paul, but I'd like to also hear more from the others as well, not just the blow hards we already know their positions of.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I think a large percent of people who watch the mainstream media do so just to be able to point out their bias, lies and obfuscation. It's almost as if their stupidity has become a self fulfilling revenue source.
- bryanedds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Q: How do you know the government is lying?
A: The mainstream media's lips are moving. - Misesean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3People would still be confused with three or four. Reduce it to one; that won't confuse anyone!
- metrodextrous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So we the sheeple will get too confused by a whopping ten candidates on stage? Give me a break! I'm sure they'd love to have only their chosen three or four up there. The people can't be troubled with choices. Choices! This is America last time I checked.
- bratpack8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"His positions on issues are sporadic and all over the map."
I'm curious, how can a platform of liberty, free-markets and freedom be all over the map. Please explain, because to me, he is the only one who is consistent. - bratpack8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've been boycotting the MSM for at least a few years now. Why would I read that crap?
- 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Aren't the other Repub candidates fake ones? they seem just like neocons. I thought neoconservativism has nothing to do with the original intent of the Republican party.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well the Washington Post won't cluttering my drive way anytime soon........
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It now the voters who count but who picks the canidates Stalin-gtonpost
- zer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ugh. I wonder how these people sleep at night.
Maybe Satan's just that hot. - MSF2, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2"With Paul out, there would only be neo-cons left."
You forgot "... on the GOP candidate list."
He might be the best Republican, but he's not the best candidate overall. - jbus, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Ron Paul - The best (fake) Republican candidate.
He really should quit trying to pander to the GOP electorate who will not give him the time of day and run as an independent. That would help his credibility somewhat. Though, he may be the best (fake) Republican candidate, he is far from being a GOOD candidate... His positions on issues are sporadic and all over the map. No one outside the "Digg Users for Ron Paul committee" that we have to thank for the constant barrage of Ron Paul stories her on digg is going to take him seriously once they know his positions. Dream on people. - Ulisses, on 10/12/2007, -16/+5They sure as hell clutter Digg.
But hey, no problem. You keep spamming, I'll go on burying.
