I BELIEVE IN YOU SARAH! LOL. - acroyear2, on 09/24/2008, -3/+144I can see market collapse from my house!
- rickjames47, on 09/24/2008, -7/+123This is what we're going to be talking about all day today.
Best quote about this from Kos
"If borne out by other surveys, this will represent a tectonic shift in the electorate. According to this new poll, Obama has done something Gore and Kerry could not... reach 50% in an ABC/WaPo pre-election poll."

- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -4/+67Bush is going to have to blow something up inside the united states to fix this.
- gospe1337, on 09/24/2008, -6/+67The racists haven't voted yet =/
- hamlet3145, on 09/24/2008, -7/+62This is why McCain freaked out and called off the debates.

- charm803, on 09/24/2008, -5/+45Fox News Poll (OMFG)
FOX NEWS POLL: OBAMA RECLAIMS LEAD OVER MCCAIN, 45% TO 39%
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/24/fox-news-p ...
"Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from September 22 to September 23. The poll has a 3-point error margin."
woo hoo!
SURROUND yourself with McCain supporters and turn them into Obama supporters! - cptmichael101st, on 09/24/2008, -5/+46Polls are pointless. If you really want to know for sure that Obama will win, go out and vote for him, then tell everyone you know to do the same.
- littlequeenie, on 09/24/2008, -6/+41It shouldn't even be this close but if we CAN believe polls, at least the trend seems to be going in the right direction.
I find it so hard to believe that so many people still think favorably of Palin! - kingUssop, on 09/24/2008, -3/+33Looking good. Can you imagine digg the day Obama wins? It's going to be a happy time.
- jhuckabee, on 09/24/2008, -8/+37Polls have been very unreliable this year and I generally don't like them, but still....
WOOT!
gOBAMA/BIDEN 2008!!! - Cadicus, on 09/24/2008, -4/+28I'm pretty sure TensionHead just owned you Poprocksandsoda..
- lopla, on 09/24/2008, -3/+29My friends I am going to cancel the debate because I am dealing with a bout of mental fog and am too old and tired right now, unprepared and.. (what? did I say the wrong thing? i did? *****) My friends I am canceling this debate because I believe in putting country first, something the opposition can not understand because they are too busy gaming the system and destroying the economy. God Bless America. -John McBush
- hbrws111, on 09/24/2008, -8/+31Yes! Waiting for the NBC poll-I trust Chuck Todd and need to hear him say that he agrees.
Here's to HOPE! - ashwinmudigonda, on 09/24/2008, -3/+27Speaking for the nerds amongst us:
9! = 9 x 8 x 7...x 1 = 362880.
Just...saying. For a second, the title didn't make sense. It's all ok now. - netneutrality, on 09/24/2008, -1/+23Beautiful.... brings a tear to the eye.
- trizzlelv, on 09/24/2008, -16/+39Here comes the McCain bury brigade in 3... 2... 1...
- ProfessorSYM, on 09/24/2008, -4/+25Or, McCain is going to try a desperate move like suspending his campaign to take the headlines. The headline on CNN the last thirty minutes?
"McCain puts campaign on hold" - Scottamus, on 09/24/2008, -11/+34And Obama hasn't even whupped McCain in the debates yet.
- atdigg, on 09/24/2008, -7/+28most of the racists are republican anyway....
- inactive, on 12/08/2008, -1/+22I'm not convinced that racism is going to show as big a difference in voting patterns as people think. This is not to say that racism isn't a factor, but I suspect it's already reflected in the poll numbers.
I mean, if a pollster calls and asks who you're going to vote for, of course (almost) no one is going to say "McCain, because I won't vote for a black guy", but its easy to say that they're going to vote McCain for some other reason.
Also, a study I read about through fivethirtyeight.com says that the "Bradley Effect" (read: racism) hasn't been a big factor since the 90s.
So, I'm thinking that the poll may be right (or at least as right as any poll can be) and the we have real chance. - HumanNouveau, on 09/24/2008, -2/+21Aw, *****. That's it. Now the liberal commie bastards have infiltrated Fox News. LOL
- rearlgrant, on 09/24/2008, -3/+24Don't forget, the media has an interest in keeping the horserace alive. Their revenue in election years is based almost entirely on political advertising.
We'll see stories that end putting McCain neck & neck in later polls. - skteoievtehr, on 09/24/2008, -12/+33YES WE CAN!!! Please go out and volunteer for Obama, folks! We gotta win this thing!
- kaynee, on 09/24/2008, -2/+18Unfortunately, I've run into a few life-long Democrats (all 70+ yrs old) who will not vote for Obama. Of course they give some other excuse, but the real reason is obvious.
- thepoliticalcat, on 09/24/2008, -4/+21Best news I've heard in a while. I know, we shouldn't pay attention to polls, especially national polls, but as the nation crumbles before our horrified eyes, it's hard not to get depressed when the polls show that there are people who actually think Paiin is an OK choice for VP because "she has a nice smile," or "she's a hockey mom."
- inactive, on 12/08/2008, -3/+19I just hope this is accurate and that it lasts. I'm going head over fivethirtyeight.com and see what Nate has to say....
- WasabiBomb, on 09/24/2008, -1/+15I'm sure poprocksandsoda will now try to claim that Fox is just another liberal rag.
- sulthernao, on 09/24/2008, -3/+17Probably the best move for his campaign at this point...
- Krosm, on 09/24/2008, -2/+16Exactly. They're going to try to steal every vote possible for McCain and 'lose' every Obama one. Don't even start to think you can slow down or relent. Democrats need to be booking buses for every single community in battleground states so that every single Obama vote gets counted. Blue buses on every corner!
- purduecory, on 09/24/2008, -6/+20Just looking at digg, I would say duh too, but most people here are liberal and young (a blind assumption, although I would wager an apt one) so most people here support Obama. But there are people elsewhere and in other groups that are REALLY against Obama, be it because he's a democrat, or black, or whatever.
Reading stories on digg, it seems like Obama would win by a landslide, but like cptmichael101st said, unless you get out there and vote, all the admiration in the world will not get anything done.
/soapbox - RodBorn, on 09/24/2008, -3/+16OH MY GOD! FOX NEWS IS SO LIBERA...oh wait...nevermind
- rz8472, on 09/24/2008, -1/+15I'm an economist. Wheeee!!
- cadmiumpaint, on 09/24/2008, -3/+16the entire world will be celebrating
- cadmiumpaint, on 09/24/2008, -3/+17fox news (GOP PROPAGANDA MINISTRY) has Obama up by 6 so......
- CedarPark, on 09/24/2008, -2/+15Well, polls obviously don't mean anything, if they don't coincide with my position.
- RodBorn, on 09/24/2008, -3/+16So funny how when things don't the righties way they scream "LIBERAL"! How can the Washington Post be liberal when John McCain himself quotes the paper in multiple ads? Oh yeah, when it doesn't go your way just whine a bit louder.
- trafficlight, on 09/24/2008, -1/+13Hey it worked the first time.
- wendelgee2, on 09/24/2008, -4/+18If the campaign doesn't look at tracking polls, there's probably a pretty good reason for it.
- JMaj, on 09/24/2008, -1/+12I wanna see poprocksandsoda response
;p
Edit
FTA "Unfair Attacks
The presidential candidates say they want to run respectful campaigns focused on the issues — so are they? Almost half of voters (47 percent) think McCain has made unfair attacks against Obama — somewhat higher than the 36 percent who think Obama is hitting below the belt." - nickiank, on 09/24/2008, -5/+16Well boy howdy, another GOP shill abusing the living ***** out of the word "socialist". The Red Scare called, it wants its mantra back.
Go back to Little Green Nutsacks, mouthpiece. - JohnnyMarr, on 09/24/2008, -4/+17I'm having a party November 5 if Obama wins the election. Everyone's invited.
- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -3/+14Wasn't Kerry leading Bush in the polls all the way up to the election?
And you saw how that turned out. - cadmiumpaint, on 09/24/2008, -6/+16McCain won't even show up to the debates....the coward.
- jerrolds, on 09/24/2008, -3/+13Let's hope the debates doubles Baracka's lead.
