And really, no matter who new immigrants are voting for now or will vote for in the future, they should be embraced. Not only will the party get more votes, but the country will be better off as well, which is what really matters. - diamondbigdog, on 05/13/2008, -0/+6Legal immigrants are always embraced. We don't embrace the ILLEGALS. Come here legally and you are welcome...
- elleigh2, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3Amen, diamondbigdog!
- davidmesaaz, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2I agree with you on the illegal immigration thing. I think that there be more legal immigration but by heavily regulating immigration and making people wait 5-10 years to come here legally. It shows how inefficient the government can be.
- brallsplp, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2granting people legal status who violated immigration laws and telling those that have been waiting in line to come here legally that they have to start the process all over again (meaning that they will have to wait even longer to get here) as the so called "comprehensive immigration reform" would have done is completely stupid! It rewards bad behavior and punishes good behavior! I agree that we should increase the #s that we allow to come here legally dramatically and streamline that process so that it is much quicker, allow those who are currently waiting in line to come in immediately granting them "temporary legal status" while we perform background checks and put them on the path to citizenship. Those who broke the law and came here illegally need to get in line like the others!
If the "comprehensive immigration reform" package makes sense then lets all stop paying taxes for a few years and then ask for amnesty from the taxes that we owe and see what they say about that, we would all end up in jail!
