"WBC to Preach at Funerals of Virginia Tech Dead" WTF!?

- rAid135, on 10/12/2007, -8/+58Yea, why is it that all the great people are killed and assholes still live. This world is so unfair

Regardless of their hatred and stupidity, to place them in front of that gunman would make you no better than him.
- ClassicJBC, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38I know it's hard to do considering how really vile these people are, but don't play into their hands by digging, much less submitting digg stories about them. They're just out to get attention. They know by now how sensationalist this crap is, and so they're going to exploit human emotion at every turn. Until they all die out, just ignore them.
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Let's keep this site down. Everyone digg this story.
- ClassicJBC, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Wow, I spoke too soon. Perhaps there is a benefit to submitting and digging stories about these asshats.
- frostieDude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19@retroruflo
I see your point, but still if therre was a way that I could magically press a button and this massacre would have happened to Fred Phelps and company instead of the students and faculty at VaTech, I would not hesitate to push it. - jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24"And, as Christ warned doomed Jerusalem, even so WBC -- warns doomed America" - pleasant, humble folk, that WBC.

If they weren't lawyers, I may have used wording similar to "Death threats go here". - bemenaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Anyone besides me up for bringing a paintball marker to this sermon?
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40I'll make God a deal right here and now. If God were to smite Fred Phelps and his entire family and his "church" when they come to this funeral, I'll convert to Christianity permanently.
- jerichobp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13They give Christians and Catholics everywhere a bad name.
- seanieb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5FROM THE SITE:
"WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. "They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads" (Eze. 7:18).
Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. Your military chose to shoot at the servants of God today, and all they got for their effort was terror. Then, the LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants." - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@jerichobp
That's like saying something "makes Floridians and Americans look bad"... Catholics ARE Christians... and these guys are supposedly Baptists, anyways.
Never-the-less, these guys make crazed gunmen look sane. - kutza, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Why in the hell do we as a society let assholes like this do what they want?
If they ever showed up at my friend's funeral... - gldfshnpcklejar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11This may very well be the breaking point of the WBC, the other protests they have done were much smaller scale, but protesting at something this big... They're bound to get retaliation.
- kutza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@dazparkour If only there was some free way of making yourself completely anonymous on the internet so you could write what you want with no fear of legal reprecussions...
*cough* JAP, http-tunnel, Tor, Your-freedom *cough* - halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15@gldfshnpcklejar
Their PLAN is to cause a backlash.
Most the adult Church members are lawyers, and most their income comes from lawsuits. Whenever they're assaulted, they sue. Whenever they think their First Amendment rights have been violated, they sue.
They WANT to be physically attacked, because they can reap financial rewards from the resulting lawsuits.
To make matters worse, they're so twisted with hate and evil, that I don't think they'd even mourn one or more deaths in their little cult. They'd just cash in and sue. - bruenig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4while true; do wget -r http://www.godhatesamerica.com/ -O /dev/null; done
- unusualbob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@halleyscomet
We just need to convince them to wear American flags provided by us
....and then we burn them because its allowed by our 1st amendment rights.
Amazingly if a judge were to go completely by the books on this it would be legal. If we retain that we owned the flags then we are allowed to destroy our own property.
- jparkinson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+88oh what the *****.
i can't believe how absolutely horrible these ***** people are.- jmholloway, on 10/12/2007, -2/+56i hate these people. My family has owned a funeral home for the past 200 years (really, family business) and all I can say is that these people are giant ass hats. When people are at a funeral they do not want ass hats like these guys preaching their message of death and doom all over the place.
- Easty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+86This is just disgusting.
These people give Christians - hell, they give humanity a bad name. - JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29@Easty
From my point of view, these people aren't Christians. Jesus' teachings are of peace, not of hate. - BlueAthena, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8That is the most immature website I have seen in a while. These people are ***** *terrible.*
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8If these people love God so much, why don't they all drink the Kool-Aid and join him?
- kettlehead, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11@JimXugle
By that logic though, MOST Christians aren't. The religion was irreparably damaged when taken up by the roman empire and used as a political and military tool; but even before then, it had the seeds of madness contained within itself. This is it at its worst, and a prime example of why religion as a whole is detrimental to mankind; it can cause harmful, unquestioning adherence to laughably outdated and hateful rhetoric.
I think part of the problem is that Christianity largely contradicts itself. The Old Testament is harsh, unforgiving, and intolerant while the New Testament is the biography of a two-thousand year dead peacenik and his followers with a couple of loons thrown in. This leads to a collective multiple ideology disorder, including both hippies and warmongers under its umbrella, as well as wafflers who claim divine backing for whatever direction they feel like taking that day. Even the modern, more relaxed face of Christianity can still launch some wacko cult with beliefs like this, because the recipe is all in the books.
"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." - Matt. 7:20 - fredxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@elranzer
The reason why they don't kill themselves or whatever is because they pretty much think that they're the prophets of God. They constantly compare themselves to Jesus (I don't recall the part of the Bible that says, "And Jesus said to the followers of the multicolored flag, God hates fags").
I hate people like them. Whenever someone like them tells me that I'm going to Hell, I tell them, "Good, I wouldn't want to hang out with your God. I'll party with Satan". Their God being a malicious gay/atheist/Muslim/etcetera-hating god, etcetera.
- jeromeerome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40This is absolutely ridiculous. Free speech or not there is no excuse for anyone to try and cause these families more pain than they have already suffered. Exploiting a tragedy like the one that occured yesterday at VT has no place in any religion. These people try to pass themselves off as Christians? Maybe I have been reading the wrong Bible.
- zarand, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54Something tells me that you aren't the one reading the wrong Bible. Things like this just make me sick to my stomach. This country really has forgotten how to mourn, hasn't it? It saddens me and infuriates me to see the media, and people like this and Jack Thompson jump to use tragedies like this to further their own political and personal agendas. This is NOT what following Christ is about. They should be rallying around the families and friends of the victims and offering them love and support. Wake up Church, you've lost your focus. I truly hope someone out there with the means is able to make an effort to counteract the staining these people have placed on this horrible tragedy.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 - CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25This is were people get mixed up,
Freedom of speech does not = immunity from scrutiny! It means you cannot be prosecuted for what you say.
There is nothing in the constitution that prevents citizens from reacting any non violent way they please to loud mouth jackasses. The ability to protest what a person does or says is entire reason that freedom of speech was put in the constitution! - mikealao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8No, you all read the same text, but with wildly different interpretations.
- jfjj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I agree they give Christians a bad name. As a Christian I would not want to call myself one if I had to do or look anything like what the WBC represent in their message. Although the bible has it shares of tragic events and war ultimately the message of Christ is not of hate and destruction but of hope and freedom. In times like theses we need to be the first to grieve and help those in need in those circumstances not point the finger!
- h00paj00, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3These people are classic Satanists.
- mattyx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8First of all: Saying these people should die, or recieve death threats because you don't agree with them makes you EXACTLY the same as them. Giving them a microphone is all you need to do to let them shoot themselves in the foot.
Secondly: Saying you believe in free speech means ALL speech, especially that which you don't agree with, or you find offensive. There's an idea that's actually worth going to war for.
/m/ - Sanooj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Hey, when you quote the bible you gotta remember context.
1 Corinthians 13:14 "Except for the homosexuals, Swedes, Canadians, Catholics, Muslims, and Mormons."
jeez, next time do a little background research - prammy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9@mattyx:
Freedoms also come with responsibilities.
For example, if they want to preach their hateful speech on their site, their 'church' land, or on public land, they are allowed to. The freedom of speech gives them that right.
However when they come to say hateful things at the funerals of these people, it becomes known as harassment and you do not get that privilege by quoting freedom of speech. And as far as I know most cemetaries are private property.
- zarand, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54Something tells me that you aren't the one reading the wrong Bible. Things like this just make me sick to my stomach. - Herkimer56, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9How far do we have to let these people go before we can do something about them? It's far past the time that they should have been prosecuted for disrupting funeral services around the country.
- mattyx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@prammy
Its not illegal to be irresponsible. I wasn't talking about right or wrong, I was talking about their right to free speech, as well as the knee jerk "they should be killed" comments.
As for where they protest, yes, it will have to be on public land. However despicable it may be, they have a RIGHT (not as is wrong) to do it.
/m/ - Dewhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think congress has passed or will pass a bill that says protests at funerals have to be so many feet away.? These people are so full of hate. They came to my town for the funeral of a young soldier to "protest" but the people in our town made a huge ring and kept them away. I think the family only knew that they were there afterwards.

- WebCester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44I'm not one who's quick to anger, but every time I hear or read anything by the Westboro Baptist Church I'm instantly filled with rage and hate. I'm an atheist, but I wish there was a hell just so the Phelps family could get a nasty surprise when they die. If anybody deserves God's wrath it's them.
- madjeff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Hell, I'm a Christian and I feel the same way. Their absolutely skewed views and behavior are reprehensible and pathetic.
- cliner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Yes, yes it makes complete sense now! Seung Hui Cho was sent down to earth from the heavens by an angry god and killed all those students!

Oh they are very, very real. I remember driving through topeka trying to find the civic center a couple years ago and having the unfortunate happenstance of driving by that den of evil with their godhatesamerica banner. - JAVandiver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@FeartheKnight
I guess that you have not watched the evening news for the past half decade? - hikinthru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5They are real enough for Congress and the President to have passed legislation, JUST FOR THIS GROUP, to ban demonstrations within 150 feet of a military funeral. Bush signed it into law four months ago. They came to Vermont in 2000 and protested outside the Legislature building when the Civil Union law was passed. I was a part of the counter-protest. They are heartless to the point of appearing sociopathic, and they are very, very real.
- unusualbob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Couldn't the local governments just not give them a permit? Or just a 1 minute permit... I mean it would be pretty awesome to see these guys arrested for protesting without a permit.
- smpdigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you got an extra hour to spare, see for yourself how real they are http://video.google.com/url?docid=-4413388146858417528&esrc=sr1&ev=v&q=most+hated+family+duration:long&vidurl=http://video.google.com/videoplay%3Fdocid%3D-4413388146858417528%26q%3Dmost%2Bhated%2Bfamily%2Bduration%253Along&usg=AL29H22W3BPTT-bsafuZoHd4sKq11WC2Uw

- jpowlus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35wow, FeartheKnight, we all do really wish that was a "fake" website...
that crew is very real and very sick.
they are the same people you've heard about protesting at soldiers' funerals... and they WANTED to protest
at the funerals for the amish girls that were killed at their school last year.
it is no joke. they really believe what they are saying.- r0ck3tm4nn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8http://colum.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2567280327

- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+62Fred Phelps is so obviously a closeted homosexual.
- xutopia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Just look at his wife and you'll agree that she looks nothing like a lady. She's the manliest woman I've seen in my life.
- MusicMagi, on 10/12/2007, -10/+10Most people that are against homosexual tend to be latent homosexuals themselves and are self-loathing of who they deny themselves of being.
- ShBm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19That's just a gay old wives' tale.
- EzraNailo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@xutopia
That's what inbreeding gets you! :) - mikealao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I don't think that comment is fair to homosexuals. The man is an imbecile, pure and simple.
- DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That's actually kind of offensive to imbeciles...
- samdu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"That's just a gay old wives' tale."
Actually, there has been at least one study that I'm aware of that lends some credence to that "old wives' tale." A group was subjected to homosexual pornography. The people that tended to be most critical of homosexuals also tended to get the most excited sexually by the imagery on screen. When confronted with this information, they were also adamant that it was untrue, despite having physical evidence to the contrary.
- TheLoneWolf071, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I love how people are getting quicker to use events like the shootings yesterday to further their agenda. It makes me sick to think that people like thompson and this group will, so soon after the shootings, try to capture a fanbase for their false causes.
- MusicMagi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I agree. People are scum. None of this is about the kid's personal issues or his family upbringing, how he was treated, etc. Everything is a platform for some other jackass' agenda
- TheLoneWolf071, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@FearTheKnight
No, This group is real and so is this site. This group has existed for several decades and this is only a step further in their measure of being a cult. they take any and all opportunities to attempt to bring their propaganda to anyone who will give them a mic.- smpdigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder what that further step is, mass suicide? (I would be nice though), but I think the ARE already a cult.
- namelessuno, on 10/12/2007, -29/+5Jews, Christians, Muslims all suffer from the same disease....non-thought.
- spacebetween, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Um...all of HUMANITY is subject to that "disease."
- ChestyLaRue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18don't lump people of faith in with these nutjobs, you may disagree with their religion or religion in general, but the WBC folks are something completely different
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18You appear to suffer from it as well. Nothing like sweeping generalizations to neuter the brain!
- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10WBC, Nazis, and Terrorists are anything but religious.
- Niten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@JimXugle: Of course the Westboro gang, Nazis, and terrorists are far out of the mainstream, but that doesn't mean you can simply excuse them as non-religious. For better or for worse, they really do believe the things that they preach: it is religion.
- TreeHuggerChick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I really wish these people would just disappear off the face of the earth. The last thing that a woman who is burying her child needs is to hear all of this preaching and demonstrating. Especially preaching and demonstrating about how your child somehow deserved it, or you deserve it, or the country deserves it, or any of that other nonsense that they spew. Their church needs to catch fire with all the church members inside it.
- demigod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I don't even think they are religious. They are just using a religious slant to generate hate so they will be denied a permit or get attacked and then they can sue. Check them out, they are all lawyers.
- tylerfulltilt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I'm glad I'm not that only that has figured out that WBC is a giant lawsuit scam. We shouldn't even really be debating the merits of what they say, because truthfully, they probably don't even believe what they say. They're just saying it so they can cause a ruckus and have lawsuits against state and city governments for violating their first amendment rights.
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I seem to recall that it was once said that when the revolution comes, the first against the wall would be the lawyers. Any chance we could speed that process up a little? Or maybe just make a case for certain ones ahead of time?

- cryptomystic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I'm kinda surprised that nobody during these "preachings" has gone ***** and killed Fred Phelps.
- boyasunder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11While no one has caused them the grevious bodily harm they so richly deserve, I have heard that they actively hope to get into altercations with counter-protesters. Many members of the WBC have law degrees for the express purpose of suing people who get too sick of their ***** and smack them up.
- Haapi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Hundreds of people standing around, Phelps on the ground in a heap, and *nobody* saw what happened? He must have tripped.
- halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@cryptomystic
That's because a lot of people know the whole "Church" is a scam to get people to attack them, so they can sue.
1. Be as inflammatory as possible.
2. Get attacked or censored.
3. Sue for "Breech of First Amendment Rights" and file civil suits for Assault and Battery.
4. Proffit!
From what I understand, the policy is working well for them.
- jimmyjimmy05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Karma is a bitch and these people are going to get it someday and when they do, it's not going to be pretty. It's sad, but no one will care they are gone. You reap what you sow you ass holes!
- jstohler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Nice, we broke their site. Digg is costing them a bundle in traffic fees right now.
- adventflux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I saw an article on Digg a few weeks ago about the Phelps, the "most hated family in America." I can really see why, these people need to die in the worst ways. Using religion as a justification for such hatred is worse than what they accuse most of us for doing.
- combustion8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22It's only a matter of time before a mourner with nothing to lose kills these fools.
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I hate murder, but every once in a while I feel there are people that deserve it.
Every member of WBC deserves it (except for the children that have been brainwashed). - halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@combustion8
That's what they want.
They'd declare the dead a "martyr" and proceed to file every conceivable lawsuit against the attacker, his family, his school and anything else they can think of.
They've burned away their souls with hate and greed. Death, even among their own, means nothing to them.
Someone reaching out and killing one of their members would be a dream come true. It would be serving the WBC's interests and desires. The publicity, and the profits from the lawsuits would be their focus.
Any mourner who physically attacks a WBC member is serving the WBC as loyally as Phelps' own Daughter. - chriso1281, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They would love to die for what they believe in. They want to be martyrs, just like Muslim extremists.
Then, they can rot in hell when they realize they were dead wrong all along.
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I hate murder, but every once in a while I feel there are people that deserve it.
- Firehunter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+54If I wasn't filled with rage before, I sure as hell am now.
I lost a friend yesterday at Virginia Tech, he was a good man who would never harm anyone. He didn't deserve this.
If these nutcases come to his funeral (or any other one while I'm in Blacksburg), I may be going to jail for a while.- NeoPaladin394, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I am deeply sorry for your loss.
I can't begin to imagine what you are going through. The thoughts and prayers of my family are with you and the families hurt this day. - goatrandy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4 Do it and then plead insanity. The judge will probably buy the insanity plea just to see these ***** dead, or pronounce you guilty then sentence you to 10 hours of community service.
- Bossman1086, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Damn. That really sucks. They're such horrible people. I don't blame you for feeling that way, though. If they showed up at a funeral of a family member or friend of mine, I'd probably be in trouble, too.
- halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@Firehunter
Please, don't compound this by playing into the hands of Phelps and his clan.
They WANT you to attack them. They WANT you to reach out hurt them.
They're a family of lawyers, making their living off the lawsuits stemming from their protests. If you attack one of them, you will be in their hands. They will sue you until you are bankrupt and your wages garnished for the next 40 years. They're so twisted by greed and hate, I doubt they'd even mourn if you killed one of them. They'd just proclaim the dead a martyr, rejoice for their ascension to Heaven and proceed with suing you, your family, you school and everything you hold dear.
The only "good" thing about them is they don't use physical violence, as that would cost them the grounds for their own lawsuits.
Their actions have nothing to do with you, the victims or even religion.
It's all about goading people into attacking so they can sue, sue, sue. - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here is a link from further up to a facebook group which is organizing to prevent the WBC from protesting:
http://colum.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2567280327
please though, do this legally and do not give them even the slightest satisfaction or hint of martyrdom. I hope that you will help to prevent this without creating a riot ( which I am truly scared could be the outcome of the actions of these sick deranged people ). They are ( disbarred ) Lawyers and they will put you in Jail. It is not worth it. This can be dealt with responsibly and non violently. I do not have a facebook account ( although I may get one if only for this ) so I cannot view the facebook group or see how they are planning to stop the WBC but as much as you don't want the memory of your friend scarred by bigoted preaching, do you want it scarred by violence? Would your friend want to to go to jail for these people? I hope that you do prevent this atrocity, but not at the expense of creating another.
One way that I can think of to prevent these people from getting anywhere near this funeral ( though I am not a lawyer by any means ) is to file a class action restraining order on behalf of all the friends and family members of those who died, I believe that what they have written on this site is enough to constitute harassment and be reason enough for a restraining order.
If you create a site with the help of that facebook group and submit it to digg I am certain that someone will come up with a way to peacefully and legally stop these people. I am sorry for your loss and I urge you not to let it cloud your judgment.
- NeoPaladin394, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I am deeply sorry for your loss.
- kurttrail, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I don't believe in any religion, but you cannot call WBC Christian. Almost every Christian I have known would condemned these assholes.
I sincerely apologize to assholes everywhere, that I characterized WBC as "assholes." - grow, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Do some research please.
- JasonCox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8May every member of that "church" burn in hell.
- Sengara, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Dugg because this is scary... and I didn't know they existed. Some one please tell me that Wiki page is photoshopped and this is a sick joke.
- adventflux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Sorry to break it to you. It's real.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=gubiP3mP3Ds
As disgusting as this all is, it's real. - tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not photoshopped and not a joke.
- boyasunder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Sadly its not. We gays have been aware of them for years and years. They had a long history of picketing gay funerals, including Matthew Shepard's, before they managed to get even more evil and start picketing the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq.
My dad was telling me about going to a funeral to help guard it against this assholes and I had to inform him that they are an anti-gay group. He thought they were war protesters or something. - bronstad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1put an obit in the paper for the funeral of a gay marine killed in iraq, and then ambush the *****
- adventflux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Sorry to break it to you. It's real.
- DaveV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6No surprise those evil bastards would try to capitalize on this.
- malekish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14While I agree that I wish they would craw under a stone and leave the rest of us alone, unfortunately I also need to step forward and defend their right to freedom of speech. All speech, even offensive, is protected and cannot be limited except under extreme circumstances. While their message is extremely offensive, it does not meet the requirements of extreme circumstances.
Gods, what a horrible taste that leaves in my mouth, having to defend those bastards.- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5dugg you up for being right...damnit
- goatrandy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4 That's fine, they have the right. It's just that I have the right to do whatever I want as long as I accept the consequences. If it was my brother, or loved ones that had been shot my consequences would be the death penalty.
- mjleitch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree that our right to speech speak be protected, but we do have laws that prohibit defamation and incitement to riot. Also, as intelligent as the framers of the constitution were, I think they may have forgotten one inalienable human right, the right to mourn our dead in peace. Personally, this should be placed before the right to free speech.
- orlyfactor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15If someone from their church was at my child's funeral, they'd be planning another funeral shortly.
- Bossman1086, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yup. Same here. I'd go over there and beat them to hell.
- BlackAle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The WBC are the lowest of the low. It's good to see their web servers are now feeling the 'digg effect'
- snotrokit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The digg effect is working well. smoked the bastards. Hope they pay their bandwidth per Gb. ***** em.
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No, they pay monthly.
I think it is funny that they use GoDaddy to host their sites. - gordigor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wait. If they use godaddy to host there sites, then why are we not protesting and complaining to go daddy. They have a right to freedom of speech, and we have a right to refuse the services of companies that host there site!
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No, they pay monthly.
- quez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow. The Westboro Baptist Church doing something hateful and disgusting. I'm just *shocked*.
- nakile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Strange, I was thinking this yesterday after the whole deal happened.
"I bet Westboro is going to picket this; with the reason being the 'God send the killer to the campus' or something."- nighttrain2007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Same here. I was wondering when this asshat would show up. Batman Thompson, check. Scientologists, little strange to see them so early but check. WBC, nutters extraordinaire, check. There was a BBC special awhile back on these guys. I'll say this about them. They have brainwashed their own children to an unbelievable extent. If they are stupid enough to show up, this goes beyond the pale. They may have the whole country out after their asses.
- jhonizzle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I've come up with a solution to this problem. When the WBC comes to blacksburg or anywhere near the funerals a bunch of us students come infrom holding BIG sheets of board probably 8'x5' painted black with big VirginiaTech logos on them so nobody can see the phelps family...even though they'll probably be stationed more than 300 feet away. nobody wants to see that *****.
i mean they are going to blacksburg or fairfax(where i live) and people don't take to kindly to that sorta thing if you know what i mean (aka lots of pick up trucks, walmarts(cheap ammo) and chruch goers). just don't come around my street corner thats all i can say!
I'm wishing everyone at Virginia Tech the best and we love you guys!- jhonizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ps i messed up inform = infront* sorry....
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1God hates WBC!
Not Dugg, these people do it for the attention, don't give it to them.- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Digg it, we need to keep their site down.
- StingerMS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17God hates their server too, apparently.
- dn11, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Sick bastards. If there was a hell these people would have already reserved their spot their years ago. Fortunately, I predict they will be heavily abused if they show up. Friends and family of the victims and anyone from Virginia Tech should get the word out to form counter measures.
- AWBoy666, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7***** bastards.
- mckirkus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3IGNORE THE TROLLS! DAMMIT! If the media didn't cover these nut jobs they would probably disband. As an American I defend their right to be assholes but I sure as hell wouldn't help fix their tire.
- dn11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2when someone insults me and everything I stand for - when someone uses a personal tragedy as a platform for their sick twisted world view I don't ignore them - i spit in their face and shout back twice as loud with twice as much anger until it makes their ears bleed - and that is exactly what the entire country should be doing to these *****. if they hate the US and it's citizens so deeply they need to get the ***** out.
- triscuitbiscuit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1People definitely need to sue these people... Make it so that they cannot go out and do these things... There has to be something that they can sue them about... Emotional Distress for example?
I cannot believe that they (the WBC people) are already preparing another 60+ years of these people.- way2jaded, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Let's sue everyone! At least then, we would ALL have something in common!
What a great solution! - triscuitbiscuit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1You are not funny way2jaded
You know what? I personally do not like the amount of litigation that occurs on a day to day basis, but these people need to be stopped. They are hurting way too many grieving people. What better way to stop them than to sue them? It will rid them of all their money so that they will not be able to go to these places. Maybe it will also knock some sense into these people.
- way2jaded, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Let's sue everyone! At least then, we would ALL have something in common!
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Teaching religion to children should be considered CHILD ABUSE!
Now let's see... We've killed close to what... 350,000 Iraqies.... we've lost around 3500 soldiers, and some nut job killed 32?
So basically, god's hate for us is expressed in a 1000 to 1 kill ratio in our favor?
I wish god hated my lotto numbers that way.- JimV, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Edit - Deleted
- thePoopSmith, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6k, I give up, what is the WBC?

- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anti-American, homosexual hating, lying, cheating, possibly murderous, evil fascists who use the name of the Lord to further their goals. They're the people who travel the country to protest at soldiers funerals saying "God hates fags" and "God hates America" and "Thank god for dead Americans".
- robustyoungsoul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Douchebags.
- CornrowWallace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I don't condone Internet mischief.
I just think that it is interesting to note that in linux one could theoretically say `sudo ping -f -q www.godhatesamerica.com`
And put it in the background. On a million computers.
Not that I'd ever encourage such behavior. It's just my First Amendment right to discuss computer networking, just as it is theirs to say their hatemongering filthy evil sputum. - Razster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7WBC need to be assassinated.
I don't care how, they just do.
If only this was still the 1800's.- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is feasible for anyone with the basic skills to, say... Plant a time delayed explosives around their church for a Sunday morning. Bloody Sabbath.
Not that I would destroy a church or anything, never a holy building of any faith.

- theblueprint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Where's Marcus Vick when VA Tech needs him?
He may be a lousy QB, but I'm guessing he could take 3/4 of the Westboro protest. - homersaysdoh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Giving these people attention only fuels their fire.
- FutureisDubious, on 04/04/2008, -1/+5These people are just asking for something terrible to happen to them. its really only a matter of time before someone decides they have had enough and just snaps on these haters.
- FunkyLlama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was going to say something more intelligent at this point, but then I realised there was a better way to sum up WBC:
Wankers. - KillerFuzzball, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I swear the whole Westboro Baptist Church is made up of a bunch of 12 year olds. Just read some of the stuff about them on Wiki. They just go around calling anyone/thing they don't like "fags".
- GhostBear1876, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17They came to the funerals of 4 girls killed in a school bus crash here in AL back in November 2006. Our police chief made them set up 500 feet away from the church and across the street. Just as the funeral was starting 2 city busses "ran out of gas" in front of the group, blocking them from the mourners. Their permit only allowed them 1 hour of "protest" so they were required to leave before the service let out and the procession to the cemetery began. I hope the various cities where the funerals will be held will take similar steps to protect the families.
- funderbolt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The City of Huntsville did a great job in working together to protect the funeral goers. That day, I was very proud to be an Alabamian.
- unusualbob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not so many places realize how horrible these people are and don't prevent them from harassing the families. I'm surprised that people haven't used biblical punishment techniques against them, i really think that we should just stone them.
