- Olon97, on 10/06/2008, -4/+156Let's make it 20, and flip Georgia while we're at it. The residents of Atlanta are seeing first-hand the consequences of supporting a party that doesn't care about America's infrastructure.
- jrndigg, on 10/06/2008, -11/+134If this trend continues, it's OBAMA in a landslide!!

Vote Obama!!! - SheilaNoya, on 10/06/2008, -4/+115Comments from the Survey USA Poll:
As McCain's Lead Among White Virginians Shrinks, So Too His Chances of Holding The State's 13 Electoral Votes: 29 days until votes are counted in Virginia, Democrat Barack Obama is ahead 53% to 43%, according to this SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, WJLA-TV in Washington DC, WTVR-TV in Richmond, and WJHL-TV in the Tri-Cities. In 4 tracking polls conducted since the Republican Convention, McCain has gone from up by 2 to down by 10.
There is movement among men, where immediately after the GOP convention, McCain led by 10, and where today Obama leads by 11.
There is movement among whites, where McCain's once 22-point lead is today reduced to single digits.
There is movement among the well-to-do, where today for the first time Obama leads.
There is movement among pro-choice voters, where Obama's lead has doubled since August.
McCain no longer leads in any region of the state. In Northeastern VA, which includes the DC suburbs, Obama leads by 24 points. In Central Virginia, home of the Confederate White House, the Museum of the Confederacy and Appomattox, Obama today leads by 8. In Southeastern Virginia, Obama leads by 11. In the Shenandoah, where John McCain led by 24 points one month ago, Obama and McCain today tie. - inactive, on 10/06/2008, -8/+107Obama's got my vote
- Langford, on 10/07/2008, -3/+73Listen up folks! Do not give in to complacency. Just because YOU think Obama is a lock, it doesn't mean YOU can sit at home when it's time to vote. Don't let the positive looking polls fool YOU into thinking that YOU don't have to do your part. Polls can't be trusted, and sitting on YOUR backside is exactly the kind of attitude that will ruin the results. Remember, if YOU are thinking about staying home, it means that EVERYONE ELSE is thinking of staying home also.
- Wintergreen0803, on 10/07/2008, -4/+64Cautious optimism here.
- avataros, on 10/06/2008, -6/+60Obama '08, making history.
- marabout40, on 10/06/2008, -2/+55The Suffolk poll for VA has it 51 O - 39 M, and the latest GA poll shows Obama just 7 points behind McCain: 50 M - 43 O! Unbelievable. McCain better send the pitbull to GA! Haha!
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/po ... - nernie, on 10/07/2008, -3/+49I don't think anybody can question Obama's political strength at this point. He's handling this election brilliantly.
But when Obama says, "this election is too important to be sitting on the sidelines," he's talking directly to us.
Get off the sidelines. Make sure you and everybody you know votes. http://make.ourpledgetovote.com/ - lynchjos, on 10/07/2008, -4/+46
Shh! You're gonna jinx it man! - xjohnx, on 10/07/2008, -3/+39If Obama wins VA, he's in. no question about it. He could even get in without florida and ohio the way things currently stand.
- buddhika86, on 10/07/2008, -3/+35Don't put your mouth first. Celebrate after the victory :)
- darkciti2, on 10/07/2008, -1/+32Obama pulled out of GA, but I think that was premature.
I live in Cherokee County and we're seeing an uprising against the Republicans around here (Cherokee County voted 79% for Bush back in 2004)
We also don't have any gasoline here (thanks to good ole Gov. Sonny Perdue and his special treatment additive to our state's gas). That additive is created in the Gulf and Hurricane Ike knocked out the refinery.
Thanks Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue! You suck and you don't know what you're doing, but you sure do have a lot of church supporters! - kstar6, on 10/07/2008, -1/+30I live in VA and have seen a similar shift over the past few months. Many people that have seemed "on the fence" seem to be certain the McCain is NOT for them... I will be surprised if McCain pulls out a win...
- paintgrl, on 10/06/2008, -4/+32Now doing the Happy in your face McCain dance. Weeeeee, prance, jump, wiggle.
- neognostic, on 10/06/2008, -0/+28Yeah, send that snide nasal twanged Yankee down to Georgia, I'm sure she would be about as welcome as Sherman.
- DeskFlyer, on 10/06/2008, -4/+31http://electoral-vote.com/
- Pinkertinkle, on 10/07/2008, -5/+30Unless the economy miraculously recovers in the next 29 days, which it WONT, it's over for McCain.
- inactive, on 10/07/2008, -21/+4643% of people in virginia, those who participated in this poll, are stupid.
A vote for McCainBush is a vote wasted
A vote of Palin Bush is a vote utterrrrrrrrrrrrrly wasted
Prove me right by digging me down. - jshooter1377, on 10/07/2008, -2/+26"If this trend continues, it's OBAMA in a landslide!!"
*knocks on wood*
Obama/Biden '08!!! - prsurfer, on 10/07/2008, -12/+36Younger voters prefer OBAMA, only OLD uneducated people are going to vote for McCain...
Our country needs NEW IDEAS , not OLD WRONG ideas...
Only wise , inteligent, pacific people with a new vision will do good to our country...
The world is laughing at our mediocre leaders RIGHT NOW!!!... Its a shame! WE NEED CHANGE!!! OBAMA 2008!!! - DeskFlyer, on 10/07/2008, -4/+28From the table: "Margin of Sampling Error: ± 3.9%"
And look up the word 'extrapolate' while you're at it. - defwheezer, on 10/07/2008, -3/+26How can >40% of Americans still say in polls that they support the so obviously, utterly and painfully failed policies of McBushReaganism?!
- thegrantman, on 10/07/2008, -2/+25I don't like much of what he says but if someone kept me in a box for 5 years ...I'd feel the same way.
- charm803, on 10/07/2008, -0/+21WARNING-
Obama supporters:
Do NOT get complacent and remember to actually go out and VOTE November 4th!
(I'm worried people will think Obama will win and won't go vote because they think the polls are accurate. We need a landslide!) - xjohnx, on 10/07/2008, -3/+23Are you stupid, or just blind? A margin of error is clearly stated.
- nernie, on 10/07/2008, -2/+21It's true. The truth of the matter is that it's up to each of us now.
Let's show the country that the young generation is ready to have an impact on this election. We get it. We can make this country better. We need to get everybody we know to vote.
http://make.ourpledgetovote.com/ - Shaman760, on 10/07/2008, -2/+21John McCain has become what professional wrestling calls a "heel". *****-talking, mudslinging, just plain nasty. And now he has his little ring girl (Lady Pitbull) accomplice to stir up the masses. Don't worry- there's still plenty of stupid people in this world and these two are like magnets for them.
If NSA wants something to do perhaps they should start photographing and documenting those who attend McClan rallies. err I meant to say McKlain.......DOH!! - zepher5150, on 10/07/2008, -0/+18Not for 95% of us.
- TigerStar337, on 10/07/2008, -4/+22Obama/Biden '08/'12
- veled, on 10/07/2008, -0/+18I'd love to see a Blue Georgia. It'll drive my parents nuts...
- 5celery, on 10/06/2008, -3/+21maybe they haven't McCain's chair story yet- that'll turn the tides for sure. Who doesn't love a Maverick?
- WasabiBomb, on 10/07/2008, -2/+19As webwatch replied, go look it up for yourself. We've been posting the info for months now- it's not our fault if you haven't been paying attention.
- icewater, on 10/07/2008, -7/+24McCain - He said, “I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live.”
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -0/+17Georgia is almost in slappin distance of Alabama.
Come On Down!!!
We be waitin on ye! - dagamer34, on 10/07/2008, -2/+18I registered to vote today! Did you?
- deadbaby, on 10/07/2008, -1/+15A word of caution on SurveyUSA. They use dial-polls meaning they have no real way to confirm who is taking the poll. Basically it's an automated caller and you vote by pressing numbers on your keypad. I do believe Obama is ahead in VA but 10% seems a little too high. I would say more like 3-5% based on the more accurate polls I've seen.
- webwatch, on 10/07/2008, -2/+16Go read for yourselves - http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/
- macmichael01, on 10/07/2008, -6/+20End the drama, vote Obama!!
- WasabiBomb, on 10/07/2008, -0/+14Nope, he's not going to raise taxes on businesses, either. That's another McCain Lie (tm).
- Shiftgood, on 10/07/2008, -2/+15democratic atheists are the most kind, hardworking and intelligent people on earth from my expierence
- bobtheunholy, on 10/07/2008, -2/+15Of course that won't make him much of a diplomat will it..
- thegrantman, on 10/07/2008, -2/+15No,but it does make him human.
- 11oops, on 10/07/2008, -1/+14Sounds like it's time for him to pull out of Virginia too. Maybe he should just focus on the states he can win like NM, NV, AL and the rest. That way the GOPs feelings don't keep getting hurt.
- TigerStar337, on 10/07/2008, -4/+17Electoral math at http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/. Very Good Stuff! Nate Silver, the website author, is famous for his baseball statistics. McCain has a 13% chance of winning. Barack Obama has a 87% chance. His chance of a landslide victory is 30%.
Go Obama! - Wryly, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13America is waking up. It's a beautiful sight.
- 80hd, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13At this point, if Obama takes VA and McCain gets ALL the other toss up states, Obama will win by 16 electoral votes!
Indiana is getting close too! It's almost impossible since Indiana has voted gop for 40 years but holy crap it's down to a 2% gap and college kids aren't being polled but they're voting in huge numbers. - rz8472, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13Sorry, the pitbull is busy locking down the highly competitive state of... Nebraska.
No kidding, Obama is making inroads in the 1st District (Nebraska divides up its EC votes just like Maine) - inactive, on 10/07/2008, -1/+14Yes please.
