- DoscoJones, on 10/12/2007, -4/+66This guy is such a tool. He'd be more useful as an organ donor.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40This is a tactic from Delay's strategy guide "Straussian Neo-Conservatism 101 for Idiots"- The bigger the lie, the more likely the public will believe it.
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36"Treason is the betrayal of trust"
. . . you fail: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort." - Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31Why is DeLay even considered relevant? The man thinks his ouster for corruption is on par with the holocaust. He's either desperate or in need of therapy.
- vatosplace, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27Not only did he not write his book, he didn't read it before he went out on his junket.
- fatdog789, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Tom Delay committed treason, and accepted bribes, by selling the lives of 3000+ Americans and 100k+ Iraqis to the energy barons of his hometown for fractions of pennies on the dollar.
Tom Delay committed perjury on the House floor when he claimed to know that the "evidence" of Iraq's munitions was valid, despite his role in pushing for that finding (and his role in hiring the CIA flunkies).
Tom Delay committed slander and libel against Kerry, McCain, Reid, and Pelosi over the past few years.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Delay was actually an old-style Commie. - jackelsmack, on 10/12/2007, -12/+33There will always be plenty of nutbags in this country with microphones. I'd settle for having the media simply note the ridiculous venom with which the right attacks any/all opponents. But they're too obsessed with painting everything as a meaningless horse race. Case in point - when the NYTimes published stories about Bush's secret, illegal wiretapping program, republican congressmen and other rightists tried to claim the editor of the NYT was guilty of treason. They wanted a man hanged for exposing an illegal surveillance program! And now we have Tom "Bugman" Delay suggesting the Senate Majority Leader should be hanged for proclaiming a view that 60% of Americans have already come to, and which Gen. Petraeus recently confirmed: Iraq cannot be solved by military means. In contrast, this administration has sent 3000+ Americans to their death for no apparent reason... are Democrats calling for Bush and Cheney's heads? No. Well how about their resignations? Impeachment? How about just a toothless non-binding repudiation? NONE OF THE ABOVE.
Why can't some of these media idiots acknowledge that one side has been timid as sheep this whole time, while the other side has been screaming phony outrage from their red, bloated faces at every chance they get? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23How close are they? I think if you actually commit treason you get a laminated card that proves you're a neocon.
- woojoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Pretty much any republican thinks democrats are committing treason.
- FlaG8r, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Did you know that several Republican Congressmen visited Syria the same week as Pelosi? Do you know what appeasement means? Did you RTFA to see what Delay said during the intervention in the Balkans? Do you understand that the majority of the American people agree with and support the Dems position on the war? Do you ever think for yourself instead of parroting Fox talking points?
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Well, SOMEBODY obviously didn't read the Patriot Act...
- skytimelapse, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14explain to me how... never mind, it's pointless debating with you.
- lagrange, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Frankly I'd rather die than have the greasy black heart of this traitor pumping my blood around.
Caveat Emptor. - Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12WTF is wrong with this guy?! Congress hasn't declared war on anything! We aren't in a declared war people!
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Funny how often someone throws around the term "Politically Correct" to mean "concepts I don't agree with but would like to tar as negative while giving the veneer of sounding reasonable."
And if your demand is that we bring up every stupid or hyperbolic thing every politician has said within, say, the last decade when examining the comments of a more recent verbal lobotomy, the list from our current president would be several screens in length.
But if you want to take a crack at it, go nuts. - neoform, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Hey, DeLay... ***** you.
- bweltondav, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14DeLay is accusing them of treason even though they are doing the jobs they were elected to do and reflect the voice of the American people. If DeLay is right, and Pelosi is committing treason, then apparently so is the rest of the United States...
Last I checked, expressing a logical, well supported opinion isn't treason. - kurttrail, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Well he seems to be a ***** neo-con nazi, so of course he has feathers.
- TexasCanuck, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Why the ***** isn't this ***** in prison yet ? More sadly though, why does the media continue to give this disgrace a voice ?
- vann, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I think the funniest part of the video is when he talks about looking up the definition of "treason" on his way over. Aside from the fact that it sounds like he got it out of his Pocket Webster's Dictionary rather than the US Consitution (which actually defines it, and in much more specific terms than "betrayal of trust"), it's obvious he thought they were guilty of treason before looking up his stupid-ass definition. Confirmation biaaaaas.
- satanatnmtedu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Right. Hopefully it will be peace.
- enki25, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Did Delay make this statement from jail? Or has his sentencing hearing not happened yet?
- FrankieB078, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Tom DeWho?
- loki440, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Wow! One wouldn't expect such a nuanced position from someone going by the name of "whaleyboy69". It sounds like one of those screen names from "To Catch a Predator".
- jeffgtr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10He's both. He's desperately in need of therapy
- mittortz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10sniff...sniff
*inhales, looks around suspiciously*
'what in the world...what is that smell?'
“oh my...HEY! Someone just took a ***** on the constitution!!”

Since when did expressing an opinion become treason?! - RickyBarnes1960, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5When you oppose opposition for being the opposition you instantly become a hypocrite. If freedom of speech and of opposition is in the best interest of individuals, of their communities, cities and states and, if one opposes freedom of speech and of opposition, then it's reasonable to suggest you are an enemy of these United States and a traitor to their established values. Tom Delay seems to have committed treason by opposing the freedom to hold views contrary to one's government. Depending on how large a portion of the populace one influences with such treasonous opinion, one might be guilty of wielding a weapon of mass destruction against individuals and individual freedom. In any event, such opinions are meant to spread fear which is at least some form of terrorism.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Has Delay been outed as a gay pedophile yet? I can't keep track of these Republican hypocrites.
- fredrated, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"Then again, this is digg."
And yet here you are. Lame is as lame does. - omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13How can one be treasonous against an illegitimate gov't?
- brockpetrie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"I'd agree with treason."
I'd agree with someone if they told you to go read a book to give your brain a few usable wrinkles.
Or just start with the Constitution, and let us all understand how this constitutes treason. Really, I need some old fashioned Digg entertainment. - dr0evil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5There has got to be a "You think your nuts are big? Well, check THIS ***** out!" contest going on in Washington. This assbite is like Butch Cassidy just saying "***** it" and attacking the Bolivian army!
- marmanukem, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Treason as a betrayal of trust??
The current ***** administration is more guilty of that than ANYONE else.
They have consistently misled for their own agenda, including this arising scandal with Tillman and Lynch. - daleok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Tom Delay, who was indicted by a Texas grand jury, is accusing others of unethical behavior? Laughable.
- ButterBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8this is how I see the headline.... "Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Nancy Pelosi accuse Former Rep. Tom Delay of treason for supporting the war in Iraq"
- chaos7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4DeLay sucks
- acudoc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Politicians are lying sacks of *****. Tom Delay...get a real job and do something productive.
- Burner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How in the hell could going against the War in Iraq be considered treason? If anything it is patriotism! Defending our country from the nut jobs who are running it is the only patriotic thing to do at this point.
- Judge373, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8How can it be treason when we aren't even in a legally declared state of war, declared by congress?
- edm1950, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Ha, Bush mortgaged the country to the Chinese, totally mishandled the war, gave Texas inc. free reign with the national treasury yet you say the democrats are siding with the enemy. Would seem the current president is most likely the Manchurian candidate.
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Unfortunately, Tom Delay is close to treason for being a douchebag.
- surfviper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5As opposed to DeLay and the rest of the neocons, who crossed the line somewhere in the 1960s, and left that line WAYYYY behind on 9/11/2001...
- m3t00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Looks like we are up to # 9 today.

That was fast. Hope he's just blowing smoke. @.o - nkwell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3who cares what DeLay thinks.. no one will touch him with a ten foot pole.
- superpixel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Tommy made his money and left D.C. with enough cronies to ensure his kids and grandkiddies can play polo forever without ever having to attend college. We're all boils on his a$$ in his mind, so what does he care? My bet: he'll spend no more than 2 months in "jail" if that. Who says crime doesn't pay?
Since when did speaking your mind = treason? Oh yeah, thanks McCarthy. - yakski, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7@megaman2005
Did you know that several Republican Congressmen visited Syria the same week as Pelosi? Do you know what appeasement means? Did you RTFA to see what Delay said during the intervention in the Balkans? Do you understand that the majority of the American people agree with and support the Dems position on the war? "
Every single point made here is true and accurate. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge or address the incredible hypocrisy of Tom Delay demonstrates your lack of integrity when it comes to dealing with facts and data. You need to look at exactly what Tom Delay has said in the past. You need to examine the fact that republicans have traveled to Syria. You need to understand the fact that Tom Delay has been classified by most independent investigators as a corrupt politician who really should be in jail for all the anti-American, anti-democratic corruption he has directly been involved with. - bshock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I guess DeLay knows all about treason. If screwing over his country and constituents doesn't constitute treason, the word needs a new definition.
- Soldan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Former" Rep. Tom Delay that means we dont have to listen to this moron..
- hcl40u, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Using DeLay's own definition of treason, he is also guilty of treason and then some.
