- AshScholl, on 02/08/2008, -11/+94How could you not boo McCain?
- hawkeye17, on 02/08/2008, -9/+54Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the latest failed Presidential candidate....John McCain! Trust me, he WILL shoot himself in the foot in the coming months with his big mouth, bad temper and dumb ideas. Half of his own party hates the man and that's never good when running for President lol.
- Minarchian, on 02/08/2008, -21/+56McCain was booed last year too...and he deserves more than that. He deserves to be removed from the Party: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IMAGES/CARTOONS/toon0 ...

Much, much better... - DesignerDave, on 02/08/2008, -14/+43Probably will get dugg down since I'm going to mention Ron Paul, but he didn't get ANY boos during his speech:
http://people.ronpaul2008.com/campaign-updates/200 ...
Go ahead, digg me down for supporting the guy who represents my beliefs. Is it really so bad we're supporting the guy who we find most inline with our own opinions... even if he has only the slightest chance of winning? - inactive, on 02/08/2008, -6/+23Mccain: Neoconservative at best.
Crowd: Conservative - mickyji, on 02/08/2008, -9/+25If this is the best the GOP has to offer, to hell with GOP. He is the biggest anti-american I have seen.
- inactive, on 02/08/2008, -1/+17Unless there's some miracle and all of the candidates are knocked off with just Paul remaining, dems have it in the bag.
- pontiac, on 02/08/2008, -0/+15Which is funny because there's been a lot of good Ron Paul news to go around as of late along with some good videos.
- DesignerDave, on 02/08/2008, -0/+15If you stick to the front page of Digg for all your news, you'll tend to just get the flavor of the week.
- spammvp, on 02/08/2008, -2/+17Voted against bush tax cuts too.
My only problem with him is his war mongering.
And that's a pretty big problem - Insightful, on 02/08/2008, -11/+24Don't insult us. McCain is not a liberal.
- Dundasbro, on 02/08/2008, -1/+14Bob Dole.
- deltron, on 02/08/2008, -2/+14McCain talks so slow when he speaks. I feel like he's treating us all like 5th graders.
- bxblox, on 02/08/2008, -2/+14Citizen, papers please! *taze taze*
- Look4Truth, on 02/08/2008, -3/+14The electoral system in America is a scam and it boggles my mind to see how people in both parties are led around by the ear to vote for whoever the boob tube tells them to. Can you NOT see all the propaganda going on?
Wake up already, it's all a scam. Stop being lemmings and think for yourselves. Turn off the boob tube and research on your own. - NewGTGuy, on 02/08/2008, -1/+11I have a friend who is a lobbyist in D.C. for the shipping industry. He has met McCain several times and confirms he has a VERY bad temper.
- boombye, on 02/08/2008, -1/+10http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/
- ReadItAndWeep, on 02/08/2008, -1/+101. He hasn't won any landslides. He has never gotten over 50% of the vote in any state during the primaries
2. The main thing Republicans disagree with him on is illigal immigration. Over 80% of the American public are against amnesty for illegals, so I would hardly call that fringe.
Personally, I hate the guy because on Iraq, Iran, and civil liberties, he is even more hardcore than Bush. - Sogui, on 02/08/2008, -0/+9No it shows that conservatives are as conservative as ever... and McCain is not.
- dogslayeggs, on 02/08/2008, -9/+17He is the devil.. and im an atheist... so.. thats saying something
- ChiKoo, on 02/08/2008, -8/+16It's just a shame the media never really gave Ron Paul the light of day (and if he wasn't considered too radical either). McCain's a terrible choice for the GOP. I think he's only going to have a chance at actually winning the presidency if Hillary gets the Democratic nomination. I think Obama will take out any opponent.
- metamorfoza, on 02/08/2008, -0/+8I'm not from US so pardon my ignorance (and dont digg me down just because i am asking a question out if interest)
Can anyone clarify for me what is McCains' position on illegal immigration? i.e why is he booed by fellow conservative comrades?is he to soft? to hard? i'm kinda guesing here, since video is not compelte and since [neo]cons mind is always twisted - monkeyvoodoo, on 02/08/2008, -1/+9"insufficiently"
- Terr01, on 02/08/2008, -3/+11Replace "liberal" with "unsufficiently conservative".
From your tone, I trust you did NOT vote for Bush in 2004 given that he has presided over a crapload of governmental behavior which does not fit at all with classical conservatism? - zspeed78, on 02/08/2008, -2/+10Thats about the friendliest Boo-ing Ive ever seen.. give me a break. He was boo-ed like you got laid last night.. it wasnt the real thing.
- inactive, on 02/08/2008, -0/+7You gotta tell that to your friends and neighbors.
- BayAreaKing, on 02/08/2008, -0/+7McCain has the most fake smile I've ever seen!
- tightscrummy, on 02/08/2008, -3/+10A Real American wouldn't have been shot down. If it wasn't the Real American's fault he was shot down then he would have escaped from the POW camp like Rambo. Jeez, you have to explain everything to digg people.
- tightscrummy, on 02/08/2008, -1/+8If you didn't have a boo organ.
- GARussell, on 02/08/2008, -4/+11How boring a speaker can a politician be?
- tightscrummy, on 02/08/2008, -3/+9That's because he's speaking to people who are likely Republican voters.
- Sogui, on 02/08/2008, -6/+12He worked with Ted Kennedy to create a bill that would help give illegal immigrants a Z-visa (with a bunch of requirements, like learning English, etc...) which would allow them to stay in America and eventually gain citizenship.
Conservatives were in an uproar about this because
a) Ted Kennedy is universally hated by conservatives
b) Conservatives considered it an "amnesty" bill which would "reward" illegal immegration
The conservatives alternative plan? We're going to go around and find a way to deport 12 million people.
Basically McCain has a sensible position here and gets booed/cheered for it. - richIsBored, on 02/08/2008, -0/+6Paul thinks the laws on the books are sufficient and that if we weren't sending border patrolmen over to Iraq, for who knows what, that we would be better equipped to enforce them.
- cnot3, on 02/08/2008, -0/+6I think in an article about conservative politics its not out of place to mention him. We don't need to ignore the fact that he exists like the media does, digg isn't that ***** yet.
- SeekerDarksteel, on 02/08/2008, -5/+11What it shows is that Americans would rather let someone else take care of everything than show an ounce of personal responsibility. Decrying neocon tactics as Orwellian, all the while singing the praises of equally unconstitutional and heinous programs. Unfortunately it looks like Americans are rapidly accepting the notion that freedom is great so long as you choose to do what everyone else wants you to do.
- daytona81, on 02/08/2008, -2/+8well when you accuse your own party of being racists and idiots and he still gets the primary vote. i guess the people who voted for him are the retards
- monkeyvoodoo, on 02/08/2008, -1/+7I agree with you in principle, but I do wonder: Were this the case, what would general populace think of Paul? The "debates" we have on TV, and the questions the media asks candidates just don't work well for someone of strong principle like Paul. As a country we're so far from where we should be that all Paul's answers end up coming off as sounding constantly like, "that's not the governments job" or him trying to explain something and getting cut off. Sadly, what Americans want are cheap and quick "fix it for me so I don't have to think" policies and answers, and neither "that's the people's job" nor a cut-short explanation fills that expectation. And I'm not bashing the man - I wholeheartedly support him - I just wonder if, were he even to get the Republican nomination, he would be able to make a difference with the ignorant masses.
- j.carcinogen, on 02/08/2008, -2/+7But but according to the Republican primaries (in which conservatives vote) he is the favorite.
- bxblox, on 02/08/2008, -1/+6It would to me too, if he didn't abandon the position that he had because it would damage his campaign. That just tells me he'll go against what he believes to get what he wants.
- bgfinkel, on 02/08/2008, -2/+7he's actually taking it pretty well...the laugh may have been to much though
- jerbaker, on 02/08/2008, -0/+5He has to appeal to the Bush demographic. They're used to it.
- apc3161, on 02/08/2008, -1/+6I don't know why other people dislike McCain but I know why I do. Becuase he is the biggest war hawk in the Republican party. He has no problem with permanent bases in Iraq, we could be there for 100 for all he cares (obviously the man has no concept of where money comes from), and he wants to take the fight to Iran.
When others were criticizing Bush for going into Iraq, he was criticizing him for bad execution. I mean even to this day, despite the fact that we now know Iraq was not a safe haven for terrorits, and they had no WMD's, he still believes it was the right thing to do. I mean the guy is insane. Thats why I wont vote for him. Foreign policy. - cnot3, on 02/08/2008, -0/+5Yeah, it must seem great for you because you have liberal beliefs, but the fact that this country has no conservative candidate (except Ron Paul) running for president is a reminder of George Washington's warnings about the two-party political system. Americans would benefit most from choice, not just two liberal candidates, who are more or less the same on every issue. Competition always benefits the consumer, even in politics.
- hobbitsareneat, on 02/08/2008, -0/+5...all with a silly *****' grin on his face.
- dogslayeggs, on 02/08/2008, -3/+8what the ***** is that supposed to mean? Im retarded for having a logical point of view? That I refuse to be brainwashed and controlled by some book that is full of contradictions? yeah, ok... I must be retarded... Remember, you are an Atheist too... you just believe in one less god than I do.
- AlienMushroom, on 02/21/2008, -1/+5hillary just simply ignored the boos. :-)
McWar has some sense of humor. - funk49, on 02/08/2008, -3/+7He's very moderate and goes against of the core values of what *USED* to be considered Republican. He's getting ***** because he's in the wrong party. He should be an independent. There are no good Republican candidates running...ZERO.
- HHP2K, on 02/08/2008, -1/+5What the hell was that? Boooooooooooo!! boooooooooooooo-woooooooooooooooo!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
.. the hell? Good game crowd -
