- PhattyMcGee27, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20I don't understand how ANYONE could disagree that our past foreign policy in the Middle East is effecting what's going on now. I'm "just a citizen", with internet access, and there's enough information out there that you can't deny that, if you're willing to read/watch it and not have some sort of political bias to it.
It seems like some people think everyone in the world has the "short attention span" that many of us Americans do. Some societies don't forget that they've been used and then ***** over, and they hold a grudge. Is it right? I don't know... I can't imagine growing up in any Middle Eastern country. It's beyond my logic. It's arrogant for anyone who grew up here (or were politically brainwashed here) to presume any differently, unless they've "walked in those shoes."
And that Ben Ferguson douche is a perfect example of blatant uneducated indoctrined ignorance and arrogance. - aximax, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Ben Ferguson towards the end of the video:
"They love to hate, they teach to hate."
Ironic. And what are you doing Sunshine? - pintomp3, on 11/10/2007, -2/+19i don't know who this ben fergeson is but he clearly is a neocon blowhard. it's really sad the mainstream media continues to use this strategy of having hardcore rightwingers debate with centrists to give the illusion of balance. ben isn't what wrong with america, it's giving people like him equal airtime and legitimacy that is bringing our country down.
- tblasko, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15Ben's argument was so poorly delivered that I think he actually strengthened the argument of the other two members of the panel. What nonsense. What's really sad is that this kid has a syndicated talk show, and gets a ton of press. He's like a dumber Rush Limbaugh. He broadcasts out of TN, and the Christian conservative population in the south probably spoon feed their children with this stuff.
As for giving him equal airtime, journalism is supposed to be an unbiased source of information, so presenting both sides is always important, I just wish they had chosen someone a little more eloquent, or at least someone without what looks like a bowl cut. I would have appreciated a point being made by the other side that actually made me think - drxavier, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12The trouble with Americans is we like to forgive and forget. We forgive ourselves and forget all the meddling we've done around the world since WWII. For more than fifty years, our leaders have overthrown democratic, secular, nationalist governments in places like Iran, Iraq, Guatemala et al, and installed "friendly" dictators like the Shah, and paved the way for Saddam Hussein to seize power. And then when someone retaliates we whine, like Ben Ferguson, "we didn't do jack-squat".
- crazydiode, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Ben is an *****.. they love to blow themselves up. Does he even know what the ***** he is talking about?
If "easy to attack US" is his argument... God bless him! - judgesuds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Is America waking up?
- crazydiode, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8exactly. as the other guy said "we think what happened last week is the reason for what's happening this week, it's not that simple". If you forget where you have meddled in the past, that's what is going to hurt you.
- blujaded, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12A little heavy on the self-promotion, bigdave. The whole point of Digg is to post a story and to have a discussion about it. You are always complaining that Ron Paul supporters are spamming Digg, and almost everywhere I see you, you post comments not related to the story. Who is the real spammer? I see your name on almost every major Ron Paul story Dugg. Judging by the articles you have dugg, you appear to be a Democrat supporter, so why should you even care about Ron Paul? What are you afraid of?
- ChuckIT, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6that ben dude just pissed me off to no end. i mean everything he was saying was like as if all he ever does it sit and read what our government wants us to believe "they hate our freedom, they hate our puppy dogs and kittens! that's why they attacked us!"
- Objurgator, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11From the volume of BigDave's posts I would guess that this is nearly a full-time job. You're not a shill are you Dave?
Aside from that, BigDave has put forward a couple of very disingenuous posts so far(like the one on donating to Rosa Parks). Logically: either Dave is about as sharp as a marble or he is intentionally engaging in a deceitful smear campaign. - jacastillo, on 11/10/2007, -3/+7I guess the characters got deleted. Here is the link to the article on CNN posted by Martin: http://tinyurl.com/2h9zyj
- R34C7, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6My guess though is that those who need convincing blew it off as liberal media bias attacking conservatism...
- EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4@toprocker, can you find anyone with Ben's view of the world that has any more ability to articulate it or defend that position? It's simply a losing position. It doesn't matter who they put in that spot, unless if they put someone who resorts to character assassination and dissemblance to make their case. There's no way to win the argument that Muslims are simply made different than us, such that they want to blow themselves up and us with them.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5@PATSCRU
"People are sick of him and sick of spam..."
The things you see are the shadows of the things you want. If you don't want to see articles about Ron Paul, you shouldn't look for them, you shouldn't search for them, you shouldn't open your mind to them.
Spend your time digging other topics, ones that you would like to see. If that doesn't please you, you should go jump off a bridge for being a moron who couldn't find or recognize the millions of other websites or the billions of other web pages. - Burnse, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Great Job Ron!
- bustaballs, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7Wow. CNN actually had accurate commentors. I'm impressed.
- kahotep, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ben Ferguson hates the Arab world. He is a typical bought-off, neo-CON, xenophobic demagogue-loving jackass...
- Objurgator, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4You are an ***** Dave, anyone who would steal from taxpayers to give out medals they wouldn't donate a personal penny for is.
- jacobisrael, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0heh. Great point. This Elmer Fudd trying to act like Ben HATES Muslims about 1.2 BILLION times more than they "hate" us.
He went to the wrong Sunday School. - smartbandwidth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I'd rather be on board the Titanic than be a neocon today!
- oneshot56, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0 When we apply for a job there is an application process, most people take it seriously.
If we are hired we are expected to do our job to earn our pay. If we don't we are not paid,
and soon lose the job. Why has this simple American concept gotten lost or worse in
American politics. We had better soon start thinking while we still have the opportunity. - LeonT1980, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This is an EXCELLENT explanation of Ron Paul's statements. I'm so glad that people are actually rationally discussing the issues Ron Paul brings up rather than just dismissing him as blaming the U.S. for the attacks.
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -0/+0Latest Ron Paul interview here >> http://adultcelebz.com/interview/?p=Ron-Paul
- smartbandwidth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0There are only three (3) positions to occupy in this life:
1) PIMP
2) PROSTITUTE
3) HUMAN BEING
A human being is naturally called to acknowledge and love God - a "creator", Divine Providence, etc. - and is naturally called to serve and love others. Period. And the proof is in the pudding: WORDS WHICH LEAD TO ACTIONS.
This guy "Ben" is not a human being. He's either pimping for or prostituting himself to some "rule of man" that's designed to take-define-control and limit the energy of service and truth that's natural to our humanity as opposed to a rule of our creator who loves us enough to grant us free will. - crossers, on 07/21/2008, -0/+0I think Ben Ferguson hates the Arab world.

http://www.chasr.org/ - jobenly, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Both sides of this debate are framing their arguments poorly, and not just these guys on CNN.
Isolationists should say, "Look, terrorists are evil and crazy. They kill innocents, including women and children, to make political points. That's all the more reason why we should tread softly with our foreign policy, especially in the Middle East. People are complex, which makes politics complex. We cannot predict the outcomes of our policies in these volatile countries, so we should our default to an isolationist one. We cannot give terrorists more excuses to kill. "
Notice the condemning of terrorism in no uncertain terms. Recognizing American policy not as a cause of terrorism, but as an excuse for terrorism is also key. - Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5RONPAUL used ■Truth^3!
Critical Hit!
RUDY9-11 fainted! - dshPls, on 10/11/2007, -6/+4So AJ is like the Mainstream media? Ahh gotcha, better denounce him to as you're stickin it to the man. The only difference is MM doesn't have a religion based on lunacy, but you get the point.
- r3gis, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3CNN is a joke...how could this be called journalism?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2@ bigdavediode
Thanks for the links... Some of them I haven't seen. - fober, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2At this point, given the opportunity, I would register Republican and vote for a dead cactus plant over Ron Paul just out of spite.
- BrandonMills, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2So it's now Digg's fault that the mainstream media doesn't give Ron Paul enough attention. So spamming is ok, and two wrongs make a right.
- Objurgator, on 10/11/2007, -7/+4My mistake, it was Mother Teresa not Rosa Parks.. Same disingenuous argument though. He offered $100 of his own money, no-one else matched it, proving it is easy to be charitable with other people's money.
"He even voted AGAINST a medal for Mother Theresa (but didn't offer any bills to ban military medals) -- what an *****."

It's about halfway down. - Eliot99, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3OH GOODY!!! Another post about Ron Paul. Please don't stop posting. There are NEVER enough posts about this man.
- Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2"all the while Alex Jones rakes in cash from his religion."
And this is different from the mainstream media how exactly? - BrandonMills, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3Here we go again. Can't go a day without a Ron Paul non-story.
I thought Slashvertisements were bad. Apparently, you can do far worst. - dshPls, on 10/11/2007, -7/+4Doesn't 'waking up' generally mean when someone becomes a truther? With that said, Ron Paul is still asleep and should be shunned by all truthers, and charged for treason for not bitching about WTC 7.
OOhhhhh, so you'll just cast a bind eye towards Paul, truthers have no agenda besides complaining and whining, all the while Alex Jones rakes in cash from his religion. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -15/+11blujaded:

You guys. This topic has been posted to death, yes, we get it, he stated that previous actions may have contributed to the current state of affairs. There is no need to post this every single day for weeks. We got it the first three times. Yes, this is a different interview. Stop posting the exact same discussion whether or not there are three or four different interviews. Enough already.

STOP IT.
Ad Nauseum. Stop it. And stop attacking people like me who call you on your *****, hatred and spam. Stop it. You are reflecting badly on Ron Paul (not that it really matters) but most importantly you guys are consistently damaging not only this news site, but many others. Stop with your vandalism. - troprocker, on 10/11/2007, -5/+0What's funny is that when Fox News does something like this they get accused of inviting "ugly" or "ineffective" liberals to handle that side of the argument. I guess CNN gets a free ride for bringing in this guy to be the conservative voice.
- Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2Well maybe if the mainstream media did its job you'd see it as "journalism" instead of calling it "spamming"
You know why Giuliani's supporters don't use Digg? Cause they're too dumb to use computers. 9-11 FTW !!!!!! - PATSCRU, on 10/11/2007, -10/+4well put bigdave:
you ronpaulites need to realize that your ethics are hurting your candidate.
