- mst3kcrow, on 02/05/2009, -4/+217It's our phone lines sir. They appear to be.....jammed.
- Hetman, on 02/05/2009, -22/+157Where were all these people when Bush bailed out the banks. I remember sending multiple letters and emails. Yet not to many people seemed to care about that. Nor did people seem to mind when Bush illegally jailed and tortured people. Oh well.
- dirtpoorchris, on 02/05/2009, -20/+122Must act now before the sale ends! Bailout 2009! Pass it or else! What a damn evil car salesman.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -46/+139Call Call Call remember these fools on Capital hill work for us! By the way ask these two to resign since they are an embarrassment.
202 224 3542 Harry Reid
202 225 0100 Nancy Pelosi - BorsKaegel, on 02/05/2009, -0/+77Raspberry... only one man would DARE give me the raspberry.
- frcc, on 02/05/2009, -11/+88It will pass.
If it doesn't pass every TV, radio and newspaper will tell you the end of the world is coming. That message won't end until the vote is taken up again and passed. It's just a matter of striking enough fear into the America people to get the desired result. - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -13/+78I've never understood how a nation in debt, running a deficit, decides that spending tons of money is the way to economic revival. That makes no sense.
- sheeplescareme, on 02/05/2009, -20/+75i can honestly say that i have contributed to the jamming of the phones.
- Ysabetwordsmith, on 02/05/2009, -10/+63This is good news. Ordinary people should be involved in this kind of decision-making. Make your voice heard!
- DiggasWAttitude, on 02/05/2009, -12/+63Where were these people when Congress authorized the Iraq war? Or wiretapped American citizens? Seriously, what the *****. All of a sudden the conservatives are back - at least back bitching.
- markgl, on 02/05/2009, -1/+49Lonestar.
- bdubatdi, on 02/05/2009, -2/+46the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps
- dig1x, on 02/06/2009, -21/+64Where were you ***** ***** when Bush and the GOP were burning through Billions on Iraq? What about Bush's $700B Gift to WallStreet? Where the ***** were you?
Now that the Dems want to spend money to improve MIDDLE CLASS conditions, you people are up in arms?
What the ***** is wrong with you morons? - KibblesnBitts, on 02/06/2009, -2/+44As a Senate intern who does nothing but pick up phones for seven hours straight. All I can say is, Holy *****! I have received calls from 16 states...obviously I work for a senator who represents only one state - but we cannot disclose as fear of being quoted...it's a fire-able offense.
But god damn, I'm still getting calls not to confirm Geithner: "I'm sorry ma'am, but he has been confirmed..."
I understand everyone's frustrations, I'm frustrated too, but wow I have never fathomed so many calls in my life. In seven hours, I answered 586 calls - RedGirlRising, on 02/05/2009, -62/+103Call 202-224-3121 - Just say NO! to the Pork-u-lous!
- chkdg8, on 02/06/2009, -9/+49You're absolutely, 100% right. Nancy Pelosi is one of the biggest corporate shills in office.
- jayselle, on 02/06/2009, -7/+45I like how the republicans start being republicans once they're in the minority. Why couldn't they act this way when in the majority and Bush was president? Because it doesn't matter. Most of the politicians are just looking out for their jobs and power.
- ryan83189, on 02/05/2009, -4/+42It should be like this all of the time.
- RonPauls, on 02/06/2009, -19/+54Economies fix themselves if you let it
Get government out of the way - dekuscrub, on 02/06/2009, -19/+49This stimulus bill is an absolute joke. It's the government giving a bunch of money to itself.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -7/+37Allow me to explain it to you - our elected officials are looking for a short term bump around 2010 and 2012 when they're up for re-election.
These clowns could really care less the hell we have to pay when your children's children are old enough to vote . . . they'll be long gone by then. - Boner11, on 02/05/2009, -6/+36The stock market indexes are going to come down to fair market value, it doesn't matter how much money the government throws at it. We were just on a bubble for the last 10 years. Let the market correct itself, give it some time. Face it, the government has the Midas touch in reverse.
- Seanathan, on 02/06/2009, -1/+27The what, the what, and the what?
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -35/+61looks like the MSM is having a hard time keeping this porker of a scam under wraps
- Loriesmith, on 02/05/2009, -4/+30Will have the jamming calls
- gtluke, on 02/06/2009, -20/+45CHANGE™
- nelbuts, on 02/06/2009, -22/+47Honestly what did you all expect? Did you really think Obama was going to be different? Did you expect that the liberals in congress really was looking out for you? Do we conservatives really believe there is a true conservative in congress? All these people are concerned about is their image, Obama included.
We must now pay for health care for individuals who are 30 years old and younger and make over $70K a year for a family of four. That is the first step. We now have a president who threatens the very people that voted for him (I am not one of them). He constantly reminds everyone that he won. So did Carter and he sucked too.
I feel sorry for our children. - geoffg, on 02/06/2009, -24/+48Obama is in over his head.
- latinjones, on 02/06/2009, -3/+24Seriously!!! I'm pretty sure fiscal conservatives were jamming phone lines then too. It was all over the news. It was largely opposed by republicans in the senate and house.
Even democrats are criticizing Obama's stimulus plan. - Hetman, on 02/05/2009, -3/+24Where are you from?
- LenBaird, on 02/06/2009, -4/+25The phone lines were jammed then too. They just totally ignored the will of the people. I predict they will do the same for this one. Don't forget, Obama voted for it, and worse yet, he took a leadership role in convincing others to do the same. Now he's pushing for MORE spending when spending with abandon played a large part in getting us where we are today.
Pay closer attention. People flipped about about lots of stuff Bush did. He just ignored it all.
It isn't about democrats or republicans. They ALL do bad stuff for the people all the time. - hamdoken, on 02/05/2009, -25/+44Where were you guys when Bush's corporate welfare bailout was being talked about? Just because it was a Republican doing it that time doesn't make it okay.
- bobbknight, on 02/06/2009, -13/+31LOL where is Ron Paul when you really need him.
- MitchNJ, on 02/06/2009, -6/+23AUDIT every elected government official.
AUDIT every ex- government official.
AUDIT every lobbyist. - supercandy, on 02/05/2009, -57/+73The Obama Administration, along with Nancy and Harry running Congress, is making many very nervous with inept, corrupt, misguided, vapid leadership.
- Trekhawk, on 02/06/2009, -0/+16A call answered every ~42 seconds. Impressive.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -19/+35Buried for using a word from Limbaugh.
- Cheesepuffly, on 02/06/2009, -18/+33You guys wanted him, now just deal.
- paigeinphilly, on 02/06/2009, -23/+37EXACTLY...where were all these concerned citizens...with "mission accomplished".."katrina"....."bank bail out"...."torture".....the daily "terrorist color change...green..orange..blue..ect"....."Sept 11th"..."illegal wiretapping by an administration who thought and apparently were ABOVE THE LAW"....where?....where?....besides VOTING the bush machine in not once but twice!./..but want Obama to be the fall guy (acting like HE is responsible for this crap we are in) for all of the troubles before him..instead of trying to work with him...
makes me f-ing sick.
Guess what folks..it didnt take 2 weeks for us to get into this MESS...and it aint gonna take 2 weeks to get us out!
Obama/Biden - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -4/+18You can't blame him, he is looking out for his children's future.
- dig1x, on 02/06/2009, -9/+23You are 100% exactly correct.
The GOP propaganda machine, and its useful idiots are alive and well. - OriginalLucid1, on 02/06/2009, -2/+15Hope and Change baby! Hope you don't notice, there isn't going to be any change!
- McMaster88, on 02/06/2009, -0/+13You know the Bleeps. Bleep-bloo, Bleep-bloo, Bleep-bloo.
- RonPauls, on 02/06/2009, -18/+31TARP was legislation pushed by democratic congress.
conservatives even blocked it the first time in the house
get educated - clarky2007, on 02/06/2009, -8/+20if you didn't notice the conservatives screaming at Washington about the bailouts you weren't paying attention.
- tikiman453, on 02/06/2009, -0/+11The sweeps. Shlurguhr, Shlurguhr, Shlurguhr, Shluguhr.
- superkendall, on 02/06/2009, -4/+15Reduce government spending.
The smaller government will require lower tax revenue, so businesses (and people) can keep more.
The more they keep, the more they spend.
It's not rocket science and we have decades of proof to show the plan works. Well, all apart from the reduction in spending... - crisrodrigo, on 02/06/2009, -1/+12In my American Legal History class today, we learned about the crash of 1870's or around that time period signaling the end of Reconstruction Era. Ironically, the crash was due to an explosion in finance and giving credit to people who really couldn't afford the credit. One of the first companies to fail at the time was Lehman Brothers Just thought it was interesting. History repeating itself.
- tekgnos, on 02/06/2009, -10/+21How does anyone support this?
So in the 30s we had a massive stock market crash due to a boom in the 20's, a massive spending program and a terrible economy for 8+ years.
So now, we have a stock market crash due to an inflated housing market, and now we are embarking on massive government spending.
Why would we have anything other than another great depression? I don't see how doing the same thing again is going to produce a different result. -
