- zephc, on 06/22/2009, -1/+22*Real* and positive change comes from within the country, from its people, not from the end of a US tank's barrel (I'm looking at you, war hawk neocons). I just hope the Iranian people who want the positive change can stick to seeing it through.
- mparker21311, on 06/22/2009, -3/+17Support Iran Freedom!
- mdp8889, on 06/22/2009, -0/+12Its good to see people standing up for what they believe in like this
- randumbusername, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5i hope it's beyond mousavi.
- ohcyrus, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2My cousins, aunts, and uncles live in Mashhad, and my cousins have been to several protests in Mashhad (my Mom calls them regularly since the election).
Sure this may not be a full scale revolution (yet), but whats happening is real and felt nation-wide (especially in the larger cities). - veritasXE, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2I don't understand why I'm being dugg down...it's the truth
The whole Iran protest thing is a frame drawn up by media outlets - kd1s, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Actually a good chunk of it comes from without. Iran has been slowly westernizing of the past three decades. And with the trappings of western life comes the desire for freedom.
- FervinsUlterius, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1well when they start protesting to remove religion from their government, and stop executing homosexuals and making women wear head coverings, etc, respond to my comment again and then I will starting giving a flying ***** about the people of iran
- FOR3MAN, on 06/22/2009, -1/+2Most people won't even bother to take the time to pretend to understand.
- alexomid, on 06/23/2009, -1/+2@ Prolitarien the idiot...
According to Gallup International (http://www.gallup-international.com/ContentFiles/m ... 88% of the world believes in God, Allah means God in Arabic. Most of Iran I would assume does believe in God, which is a personal choice in my opinion and has nothing to do with the article. Anyway, run along and make more of a clown out of your self and comment on some other articles. - FervinsUlterius, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1I'm with you, Iran is a nation of theocratic cowards.
- FervinsUlterius, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Like the people of Afghanistan, they don't want freedom. And like the people of Iraq, they can't handle freedom.
- Bowserflash567, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1I hope Iran can get some freedom for their people.Keep up the good fight for it.
- FervinsUlterius, on 06/23/2009, -1/+1yes it will.
- FervinsUlterius, on 06/23/2009, -1/+1These protesters do not support 'Iran Freedom', why should we? There is no freedom under theocracy - when I see some footage of these people burning korans, I will start to care.
- faizal5k, on 06/22/2009, -4/+3FREE PALESTINE!!!
...o wait wrong story - accruels, on 06/23/2009, -1/+0 "He may yet turn out to be the avatar of Iranian democracy, but three decades ago Mir-Hossein Mousavi was waging a terrorist war on the United States that included bloody attacks on the U.S. embassy and Marine Corps barracks in Beirut.
Mousavi, prime minister for most of the 1980s, personally selected his point man for the Beirut terror campaign, Ali Akbar Mohtashemi-pur, and dispatched him to Damascus as Iran's ambassador, according to former CIA and military officials."
people this guy used to be a terrorist ***** both men in the election - goooglee, on 06/22/2009, -11/+9SUPPORT IRAN! NEDA'S DEATH WILL NOT BE IN VAIN!
- FervinsUlterius, on 06/23/2009, -3/+2***** the people of Iran, seriously. Do you think these protesters, if they had their way, would stop Iran from being a theocracy? Do you think they would stop Iran from executing homosexuals? Nope, they would continue living under the rule of religion rather than law, they would choose fascism and hatred over freedom and brotherhood. These people are NOT fighting for freedom, they are just fighting to put a different face on the oppression that they love and deserve. I will not stand behind these people that wish to continue to intertwine religion and government.
- veritasXE, on 06/22/2009, -6/+4It actually isn't as big a story outside of Tehran as the Western media is making it out to be...My gf's mom is from Mashhad and is there right now, and calls her every day telling her there is pretty much nothing going on there. Most Westerners seem to think this is an anti-Islamic Revolution protest in Tehran. It's not, Mousavi was a primary leader in the Iranian revolution who ordered the deaths of many of the Shah's supporters. Mousavi is as bad as Ahmedinejad in terms of foreign policy for the West.
All the California Persians that are making it seem like this is the Pahlavi dynasty's time for return, you guys really need to chill out because its not ever going to happen. - raptorlightning, on 06/22/2009, -6/+4-Copy paste comments already posted 1000 times on other Iranian Protest posts.-
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -3/+0It was a joke dude, calm down.I'm sorry you took my comment so seriously.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -10/+0Don't they believe in Allah?.
