- DeadElephantORG, on 01/16/2008, -14/+109protesters...? I don't see any protesters.
global warming...? I don't see any global warming.
torture...? What torture? - MrThirsty, on 01/16/2008, -10/+72The next president is going to have a tough time fixing all that Bush has ruined in this country...
- BlacklabelSAR, on 01/16/2008, -3/+46Well when you don't represent your constituents, why even see them?
- midoritsuru, on 01/16/2008, -5/+36These days no one wants to admit they voted for this man, and yet he reportedly had half of Americans on his side. Now people want to protest against him, and he's not trying to hear it. We are just getting what we bargained for. Please fellow Americans, take this next election seriously.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 01/16/2008, -5/+34Look at a calender. It's not the 50's. The Commies are not infiltrating us. There are no hippies anymore. You are a caracature. Your Archie Bunker impression is dead on.
- banq59, on 01/16/2008, -6/+34Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
You can make as much noise as you want as long as you aren't throwing rocks, you mindless cur. - icexe, on 01/16/2008, -6/+32i guess it bears repeating.. Worst...President...EVER!
- bill1328, on 01/16/2008, -7/+26Well, you know, when yer a dictator.....you can't be crimpin his style!
- bowens44, on 01/16/2008, -1/+20Let's hope that we at least get one that tries.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -4/+18I'm a dedicated protester and work about a 60 hour week. You haven't been outside of your mommy's basement since the 1960's it would appear.
- Rocketman1882, on 01/16/2008, -2/+14Or rather unfortunately it seems, prolong Bush's "goals"
- A2TrueBlue, on 01/16/2008, -4/+16Get 6% of the vote and then fade into obscurity?
At least I voted for him already. (MI-D) - aliengoods, on 01/16/2008, -3/+12You forgot one
The American people.....? They can't question their king - 1013, on 01/16/2008, -2/+11Nice job indoctrinating this one governments schools!
- blackbeardtron, on 01/16/2008, -1/+10While I agree with you that a lot of people try to destroy what they don't understand, it's a bit unfair to say that all of these people come from the South. Sure, there are a lot of people like that down there (I used to live there), but there's plenty of them elsewhere. Also, your "get out of my country" stance is a lot similar to theirs on this same subject.
I think it's time to stop pointing fingers and hating each other, that only makes the problem worse. Lets be reasonable. - zizzybaloobah, on 01/16/2008, -0/+8Sad thing is, I think few of the candidates will do much if anything to reverse what has been done (at least in terms of the abuse of presidential powers). These are driven individuals who thrive on power - and once you get a taste of it, I'm sure it's hard to kick the habit.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -4/+10Yet again, Pedro goes out of his way to prove that, not only does he hate America, but he is stupid too!!
- janeuner, on 01/16/2008, -0/+6I see what you did there... stalking instead of protesting. Nice. Think that one up on your own?
- WorkingDead, on 01/16/2008, -1/+7I am almost to the point where I truly believe that the president is cut off completely from the real world. I'm willing to bet that if you got with him one on one, without all his support staff, he wouldn't be much better than Tom Cruise in that Scientology video that is floating around. The protesters are kept out of his sight, no challenging questions from the reporters that have access to him, the MSM is pre-filtered for him and I doubt he even knows what the daily show is, I would also be willing to bet that he doesn't even have an internet connection that he can use for his own purposes if he would enev know how to use it. If you think about it, the mans world is most likely a small little bubble of information that gets spoon fed to him. But thats no excuse.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5It's not. But political speech is.
You fail. As usual.... - thefirstenemy, on 01/16/2008, -5/+10It says right in the article "peaceful protesters". I agree if they were being a nuisance, then they should have been peacefully removed from the premises, but from this article it doesn't sound like they weren't causing any commotion.
- bbqsalad, on 01/16/2008, -4/+9Hope he lives the rest of his life in pain.
- Polymathic, on 01/16/2008, -4/+9Actually Bill, you may not know just how right you are!
“Burkes Peerage”, one of the most recognized names in genealogy research worldwide and THE preeminent guide to the titled families of Royal England has (along with MANY other genealogy examiners worldwide) demonstrated quite conclusively that in each of the 43 previous American elections, the presidential candidate with the most royal genetic lineage in their bloodline of those candidates running in the election has ALWAYS been the victor, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, since (and including) the first “election” that put George Washington into power!
Funny how the mainstream mass media are loath to tell you about this FACT, isn’t it? Even when they touch on it (like in the NYTimes link below) they merely graze the surface of the truth. And why won’t they tell you the full, horrifying truth? Because they don’t want you to realize that the cute little myth you have all been fed since birth that “anyone can be President of the US” is nothing but a lie.
Think about that statistic long and hard, then go get a quarter and flip it 43 times. You would have to come up “heads” 43 times IN A ROW to match the statistical probability here! Clearly, without a doubt, kinship-ranking IS and ALWAYS HAS BEEN the integral deciding factor in the upper echelons of the American electoral process!
More people need to wake up and appreciate the FACTS that are slapping us all in the face, but of course, the problem is that if what I am saying is true (go look for yourself), then EVERYTHING you think you know about EVERYTHING suddenly becomes suspect, and you will be forced to realize and finally appreciate the truth - sorry folks, but America’s cute little “democratic process” to elect the President has been nothing more than a sham since the birth of the nation. Sucks, doesn’t it?

http://www.newswithviews.com/Veon/joan21.htm - johnabq, on 01/16/2008, -1/+6Today's Albuquerque Journal (1-16-08) quotes the ACLU lawsuit "there was no legitimate basis for treating plaintiffs differently from the presidents supporters..." but the city attorney and the Bernalillo County Sheriff (Darren White) don't see any problem with their activities...the lawsuit is filed in US District Court in Albuquerque and we can only hope that a judge and jury stand up for the Bill of Rights...the protesters WERE deprived of their right to "peacefully express their disagreement with the president and the president's views..." what is so hard to understand about that, are the cops on their horses with their helmets and their guns and all their fancy police equipment afraid of some women and children holding up signs that are protected by the FIRST AMENDMENT ? poor dumb fascist *****...
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Wow, the White House settled for $80,000 over this? I seriously need to be prevented from protesting next time Monkeyface comes to town...
- BlacklabelSAR, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Exactly. "Lincoln freed the slaves" what propaganda. He usurped the rights of the States and The People. He went back on the word given to the states when they joined the Union. And we should have trust in the Federal Government?
- scheibs14, on 01/16/2008, -2/+6I'll admit I voted for Bush. I happened to be 18 at the time. I was not a very political person, so I asked my parents to tell me about the candidates for the election. The only thing they said was "Vote Republican, the Democrats just want to take your money." WTF mom and dad?
This just goes to further my belief [now] that Republicans are blind, ignorant, and only care about themselves. I've since converted myself to a Democrat after educating myself about politics. Obama 08! - dexter411, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4Well... the deterrent effect is real. The guy who killed that hiker a few weeks back led police to her body under the condition that the DA promised not to seek death penalty sentencing.
Also... what has Bush done that makes him a war criminal again? Was FDR a war criminal for having thousands of his troops killed in combat? - Ndiggnation, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5Hillary, if anything, is just as bad as GW in my opinion. His campaign rhetoric prior to the 2000 election seems to be pretty much a 180 from his policies as President. Hillary, like GW, I think will say anything she has to, to get elected and continue the support the aims and interests of the small groups of people that actually run the country.
- Scira, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4kay spock
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5So we can expect you to refrain from using "freedom" , "justice" and "truth"?
- Ndiggnation, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5Well, it's obviously caught then attention of a great many people, even you who seems to hate the very idea of protesting. When the next administration comes, if it's a Democratic President, I'll support the GOPers and Fundie's right to protest them too..
- 1013, on 01/16/2008, -3/+7The government schools did a great job teaching this one how to write properly and live in reality.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4I voted for Bush because I had no acceptable alternative. But becoming a leftist Democrat is unacceptable also. I'll write in Donald Duck before I vote for a leftist neo-con or Democrat again. We have to stop voting for the lesser of two evils. I want to vote for someone who will honor the Constitution and work to bring the federal government back in line with It. Then let the states deal with the day to day stuff.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -5/+9What about all the Pro-Bush supporters with their chants and signs? The weren't forced to leave. Sounds like you're a bit of a hypocrite Moin...not that it surprises me.
- tman84, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5~ a group of Bush supporters was allowed to stand right along the motorcade route, where their "God Bless George Bush! We pray for you!" sign was in plain view of both Bush and the journalists accompanying him. ~
this is the problem, as long as the republican party is held hostage by religious fanatics who believe America is "God's Country" we're always gonna be screwed, because there are more religious idiots out there than there are well informed people. - Indecision, on 01/17/2008, -0/+4Actually, you'll be dug down because "other people did worse" doesn't make what Bush is doing appropriate. But you can delude yourself into believing whatever you want.
- ncc74656m, on 01/16/2008, -4/+8Yes, but when you're the government, you have no right to overrule the will of the populace.
- steppen79, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5I like ron paul, but how come every single story on digg has to refer to him?
- ncc74656m, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4You and the Middle East, my friend.
(Yes, I know that was sarcasm!) - inactive, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4Actually, Lincoln was the worst. Talk about denying people their rights. You all should do a little serious study on Lincoln.
- justo, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3um, taxation without representation? didn't someone wage war over that once?
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4I think eggs would catch his attention. He needs to be pelted with garbage, eggs, dirt... whatever refuse can be had. I can't wait until he's not in the White House....
- alfsborg, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4The Patriot Act guts the Constitution and Bill of Rights. TSA and Homeland Security is the new Gestapo.
- woolovereyes, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4we could laugh, but keep in mind that we are the generation that will have to pay for all of this administrations *****
- Ndiggnation, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4Way to pick your canidate Moin1097. I could be considered at liberal, at least socially and it's crazy I know, I research those whom I vote for. I don't pick my canidate so that I can vote against the fundie's or "hippies.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -3/+6@moin1097, you should really learn how to read. - From the article - "Meanwhile, a group of Bush supporters was allowed to stand right along the motorcade route, where their "God Bless George Bush! We pray for you!" sign was in plain view of both Bush and the journalists accompanying him."
- an0nym0uz, on 01/16/2008, -3/+6I wish I could punch bush and his father in the face
- dexter411, on 01/16/2008, -2/+5And for someone who's probably six years shy of being of age to vote, that makes your experience with other Presidents pretty limited.
Jimmy Carter was the worst President ever. - midoritsuru, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3I hear where you're coming from BigW, but if we just take what we're given then we're behaving like slaves, and don't deserve to call ourselves a free nation. It's only when we exercise our free will that we can call ourselves a free people.
