Thats a great point indeed. - inactive, on 01/06/2008, -20/+114Non point.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but Huckabee was correct when he says that the American people are responsible for Iraq. That's the basis of a democratic republic. You can't pretend to be responsible for your government when it does great things and deny all responsibility when it commits crimes of war and crimes against humanity.
Second, Huckabee is a ***** moron. There is no honor. There will never be any ***** kind of honor in RAPING a country. NEVER. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, what you did is the equivalent of what Nazi Germany did to Poland. At best, at the very best, getting your fat ignorant ass out of Iraq and apologizing for destroying the lives of millions of people could MAYBE restore a tiny little bit of whatever you have left of integrity.
And I already know your responses. They're all wrong.
"Is it my fault if they bla bla bla?"
Yes because you pay them and they work for you, they kill in YOUR name. They kill to protect YOUR freedoms (of course not, but that's what they say).
"Saddam was worse"
Guess what? That's not a ***** argument. And even if it were, it's false. Read a ***** book.
It ROYALLY pisses me off when you degenerates try to justify what you did to these people. The Iraqi people did NOTHING to warrant any action on your part and you should be ***** disgusted with yourselves for OBEYING, OBEYING, LIKE THE STUPID SHEEP THAT YOU ARE, figures of authority that represent this crime you call a government.
Yeah, dead people make me angry. It's called humanity, try it some time. - Koookie, on 01/06/2008, -3/+94"Mission accomplished", right? So send the troops home.
- flavioribeiro, on 01/06/2008, -1/+55What about the people who protested on the streets and got hoarse voices from yelling at their politicians against the war? Are they responsible?
What about Ron Paul, who voted against it? Is he responsible?
The people who protested aren't responsible. There's a silent majority who stood silent, and many who cheered. These are to blame. I stood silent. I'm to blame.
There's a quiet minority who voted against it, again and again. They're not responsible. - GettinReal, on 01/06/2008, -1/+49A great orator? No.
A real American? You goddamn right. - jask0, on 01/06/2008, -3/+47I like how he flat out owned McCain.
- inactive, on 01/06/2008, -1/+38Not exactly the most eloquent of speakers, but I'll respect his opinion more than a service dodger like Bush.
- cklol, on 01/06/2008, -2/+37"70% of people in the US oppose the war. How about representing them?"
- jbrown101st, on 01/06/2008, -2/+35I was hoping for an actual physical body slam.
- thedude42, on 01/06/2008, -0/+29As a veteran who served through 9/11 and the first year of the Iraq war, I've been waiting to see something like this in the hopes people could see how we really feel about politics and politicians.
A lot of people who never served are going to get the wrong impression. They are going to look at this guy and think "oh, he's probably just a _____ (insert the non-combat military job you believe to me most insignificant here). If he were infantry or front line combat he wouldn't think like that". The stereotype that military fighters don't think about politics or why they are in combat is just plain wrong. The truth is that they have enough respect for the uniform, their duty, and first and foremost, their fellow soldiers, to not mind f$%# themselves getting too wrapped up with those issues while they are in the middle of combat. But rest assured, unless the military member is extremely sadistic or has plans to make E-9 or become an officer at some point, they think about these issues A LOT. They think about them and talk about them with other people when they are away from the war.... or they bury the thoughts in alcohol, drugs and violence. What you saw this soldier express was going to come out another way if he didn't say what he had to say to the world, and I am personally grateful to him for not taking it out another way.
Does he speak for every soldier? Of course not. No one has that power. He was a bit Ron Paul heavy, and I'm sure there are some Obama supporters in the military too. I know there are also some Huckabee supporters, as well as people who believe that Bush has done everything right except when he got caught. that doesn't matter.
I think there is one thing that all troops can agree with him on, and that he probably speaks for in 99.99% of cases: Don't invoke my name as a soldier for your own political gain, because you are essentially polishing your shoes with the American flag when you do that, and your shoes aren't worth the freedom we swore defend, nor the loyalty we have to trust you when we faithfully go in to harms way at your request (congress sometimes, president as of late). - mnmleon, on 01/06/2008, -4/+32well spoken, full props
- iamabe, on 01/06/2008, -1/+29"Ron paul is the only republican candidate who opposes the war, and he has more donations from soldiers than all of the other republicans combined. What does that say about what the military wants?"
genius - nzezelj89, on 01/06/2008, -2/+30Honest truth from a true soldier, ***** Huck'
- inactive, on 01/06/2008, -13/+39He represents ALL soldiers!
- Nosnevets02, on 01/06/2008, -2/+28Holy hell! This story finally made it to the front page? I must have dugg this clip from YouTube nearly 5 times separately. Thank god it is finally out there!
- Hickeroar, on 01/06/2008, -1/+23I liked the soldier's quote: "We're over there fighting for honor? What happened to fighting for freedom and democracy?"
Hmmm. - SenatorChubby, on 01/06/2008, -3/+24***** Huck.
- iwilldigg, on 01/06/2008, -2/+23Hats off to this solider!!!
"... with honour.. are you kidding me!!! what about fighting for freedom and democracy"
dugg it :) - RSS14, on 01/06/2008, -4/+24Very nice video. We hope America becomes United and vote for Ron Paul.
From, Canada. - Greg535, on 01/06/2008, -5/+23No, I'm pretty sure he does not.
- CondoleezzaRice, on 01/06/2008, -0/+16Fighting "for freedom and democracy" isn't valid either, unless you are using it within the context of fighting off an invasion in the U.S. Some countries do not WANT a democratic government, who are we to say what's best for them?
- vat0r, on 01/06/2008, -0/+15Pull out now. How many troops need to die before you save face sir? This soldier is a true patriot and men and women like him deserve much more respect and voice in our society. These are the people dying and you want to talk while they're dying right? You want to draw up a ten point plan while they sweat away the days in fear and lonliness. You want to "come up with a plan" while they are sitting ducks in a land that has been in virtual chaos for centuries.
Swallow your ***** pride America. Take one for the team and bring the Soldiers home now. Have they not suffered enough already? - mjl5629, on 01/06/2008, -0/+14WMD's? nope.
Democracy? nope.
Honor?...... - ShogunWarPig, on 01/06/2008, -1/+14I am usually of the opinion that youtube is a collection of mindless junk that utterly pointless to waste time watching it. However, these types of videos that convey a legitimate point and are genuinely relative to the social issues present right now never fail to change my mind. Great video.
- Terrk, on 01/06/2008, -2/+15He is spot on, it's sad to see how many people will say he is wrong, while they sit in there comfy chairs and have never known or seen what it is REALLY like there.
- inactive, on 01/06/2008, -1/+144: Profit
- pong32, on 01/06/2008, -0/+12It's all about the Iraq - Bush wanted to go in from day one (humble foreign policy my ass):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inyCkCvqRO0 - airiox, on 01/06/2008, -0/+12I was a fence sitter on the Iraq war, but after that video I am not longer. The greatest video ever created in behalf of the argument for leaving Iraq. Every politician should forced to see it in an upcoming debate and answer to it.
- byrdgang, on 01/06/2008, -0/+11A quiet minority? There were masses of people against the war, and I recall hearing that the biggest marchest ever were voices of opposition to the Iraq war. Also, a good number of members of Congress voted against the war.
- klazik, on 01/06/2008, -2/+13This soldier knows what he is talking about, nuff said*
- rtoo, on 01/06/2008, -3/+14BRING THE SOLDIERS HOME YOU FAT ***** POLITICIANS!
- pong32, on 01/06/2008, -1/+11What happened to Osama Bin Laden? What happened to WMDs?
This was about oil all along. Bush was talking about invading Iraq from day one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inyCkCvqRO0 - sixthsoon, on 01/06/2008, -2/+12That's the most self-righteous thing I've read in a while. Exactly who are you attacking when you say "And I already know your responses?" It's hypocritical, really. You're frothing hostility at "ignorant, sheep-like Americans," is not much different from American hostility toward "terrorists." In both cases, it seems, there's no direct target, just a group of people ignorantly pigeon-holed and reviled. The only difference is your zealotry doesn't come with war. Then again, with your obvious hatred of a group whose members I'm sure you couldn't name for us, I'm wondering if that would be different if you had your way.
Don't presume to know my opinions or my actions. Most of all, please, do not question the humanity of someone you've never met. Hell, you had my full agreement before you started attacking Americans in general. I will always take offense to that.
Open your eyes, because you're attacking phantoms. - Tias, on 01/06/2008, -2/+12I am from Norway and I would estimate that about 20% of the people in my circle of friends sees the USA as EXACTLY Nazi Germany, myself included. And I am by no means part of some radical group or something, this is just regular people studying for higher degrees or working in the secondary or tertiary sector. I won't guarantee that the rest of Norway sees the US in the same light, but there is probably a pretty good chance.
- funkyflipper, on 01/06/2008, -3/+13I am a Canadian who is depressed watching our neighbor to the south disintegrate in so many different ways. I believe that this gentleman makes a great point that Ron Paul has a majority of military donations. This does make a statement regarding who the military supports. I wish the very best to all in the USA.
- flavioribeiro, on 01/06/2008, -0/+10I'm not even American. I'm Brazilian.
I feel responsible because I didn't go protest in front of the American embassy, but that's the measure of my responsibility. - byrdgang, on 01/06/2008, -1/+10Yes, genius, we all know that. This particular soldier apparently isn't up on all of that, but he still knew of Huckabee's position on the war. He wasn't exactly going for a quiz or something.
- inactive, on 01/06/2008, -0/+9For the American people there is nothing to fight for in Iraq, for private companies there is and American's are being used as pawns, plain and simple. Bring them home NOW!
- banmaster, on 01/06/2008, -1/+10Judging by the applause I'd have thought so to, but then I read about the numbers of supporters he PAID to get into the debates compared to Dr. Paul and it became VERY obvious who won that little confrontation and it wasn't *****.
- rentmitchum, on 01/06/2008, -0/+8I don't think I've ever seen anyone as full of ***** as that Huckabee guy. What a rehearsed line of rhetoric. I wish the younger generation could simply rise up and take this country back. We all want it to happen, we all got chills watching V for Vendetta, what is stopping us anyway?
- vat0r, on 01/06/2008, -1/+9I'm an American and I'm disgusted by what I believed in just a few short years ago. I was totally blitzed by the media and bought it all hook line and sinker. I mean if the media says it and the President says it then it must be right...right? Regardless of the reasons we believed we are still 100% responsible. Every death on both sides of the spectrum rest squarely on the shoulders of the American people. A-lot of us are waking up and it is our duty to wake up the sleepy heads, face the truth and take REAL steps towards peace.
- Churbs, on 01/06/2008, -1/+9NICE!
- Terrk, on 01/06/2008, -2/+9Who gives a ***** what the rest of the world thinks, no one ever seems to stop and ask what the Iraqi's think and want
- eqisow, on 01/06/2008, -2/+9I could see how he could make that mistake, watching the debate.
Huckabee said, "That's what *we* do on the floor of the Senate." (emphasis mine) - Dominea, on 01/06/2008, -2/+9I tend to disagree. Any armed service gives you many skills. You grow as a person. But I don't know if you call whats going on right now "serving your country".
- inactive, on 01/06/2008, -1/+8Every American needs to see this truth about the Iraq war and they need to hear the truth from this fine soldier. The lies we've been fed by the mainstream media and the Neocons must be debunked. Huckabee is fat ass who has no honor himself. The troops are on the ground and know the deal. The troops also support Ron Paul as proven by their donation totals. If you support the troops you should support Ron Paul and end these illegal wars. Thank you soldier!
- waynetheman, on 01/06/2008, -0/+6What makes "pull out now" a non-solution? It makes us safer, honors the Constitution, and solves a whole lot more as far as I'm concerned.
- MadOgre, on 01/06/2008, -0/+6Uh, wait a second. I said I do - DO - understand his point. That's valid. Very valid. I've got pics sent to me from there of private contractors rolling in Cadillac Cage armored cars, custom armor Hotspur Hussars, Land Rover based armored cars and such... while we use glorified, mad maxed out, overgrown Jeeps designed to be High Mobile Multi-Use Vehicles, not APCs. That's what HUMVEE gets its name from. APC means Armored Personel Carrier... Armor in the name. These up armored HUMVEES are no longer multi use or highly mobile... The soldiers get ***** for pay and benifits.... while the contractors are paid seriously fat bucks. I turned it down because I'm a family man now. My priorities in life are protecting my children rather than rich oil barons. I know a lot of contractors, and by a lot I mean well over a dozen individuals... they are good men, but not family men. They get a bad rap, but they are doing good work protecting their legal clients. But the war situation and why our military is still over there, ill equipped and losing validity of purpose... we are like old chewing gum over there now. Flavor is gone and we've outlasted the original purpose.
I was offered a contracting job over there... it would have been 4 times what I make now. 10 times what I made while I was in the Army. Yes, I was in the Army... dumbass. Infantry. Light Infantry. I know every nut, bolt, screw, and pin in those weapon systems and some of the vehicles. They are not up to the task. That's my point that you failed to get.
Do a little more research on what you are saying and who you say it to.
Posting with out thinking is like shooting without aiming.
- warrenterr, on 01/06/2008, -0/+6that actually made him sound more honest. Someone who probably doesn't care much about politics on a regular basis, but went out of his way to address such an important issue.
- koicho, on 01/06/2008, -1/+7(with note of sarcasm)
But saving face IS VERY IMPORTANT LONG TERM GOAL! How would we be able to go to war down the road for centuries to come otherwise? -
