- xOKxWhy, on 01/04/2008, -33/+106I endorse Barack Obama
- ktetch, on 01/04/2008, -18/+64Actually, aceup, BOTH parties signed the DMCA. This whole this party did this' thing is a crock. US politics only goes on if both parties sign off n it, so there is no 'this party' or 'that party'.
Ron Paul, he's probably the worst choice of all, when it comes to copyright, patents, and privacy. AFAIK, Ron Paul believes the current state of copyright, for instance, is valid within the constitution, and so acceptable. Then again, he also is a MD that doesn't believe in evolution.... He reminds me so much of 'the family crazy drunk uncle that no-one minds' - inactive, on 01/04/2008, -4/+44you call RP the crazy family drunk and have a positive digg rating? Your new title is "conquerer of the impossible".
- bluenullity, on 01/04/2008, -6/+43Who the ***** are you?
- borninda818, on 01/04/2008, -10/+47Who the ***** are you?
- pintomp3, on 01/04/2008, -6/+39he's very pro-business and corporation, so my guess is he's for copyright law. he's very pro-private property, this probably include intellectual property. does any have any specific comments from him?
- leaknoil, on 01/04/2008, -5/+35Hes already come out against net neutrality on the side of the corporations.I don't see him taking a stand against them on copyright issues.
- cyvaquero, on 01/04/2008, -21/+51Weeps for his pirate brethren. Thar's nothing pirate about backing a front runner.
- SiNN4R, on 01/04/2008, -19/+47The US pirate party is a populist sham. Long live the ninja party. The ninja party is voting for Ron Paul so we can smoke ninja joints.
- angrycat, on 01/04/2008, -1/+28If I was a pirate I would have a kitten on my shoulder.
- amadeusdemarzi, on 01/04/2008, -1/+24Ugh, why the ***** does a discussion about Obama get reamed by Ron Paul spam? I don't give a ***** if he is a good candidate, (and I do think he is a great candidate) but spare me (and the rest of the Digg community) the BS, Please!
- MSF2, on 01/04/2008, -13/+35Sure there is. Pirates do what's in their best interest; and Obama is in there best interest.
- xxTazxx, on 01/04/2008, -3/+23Who the...
oh ***** it. - chaosium, on 01/04/2008, -3/+21You don't know what you're talking about here.
- Pake, on 01/04/2008, -0/+16TheAcclaimed: http://www.ontheissues.org/TX/Ron_Paul.htm?
He voted no. - thebellmaster1x, on 01/04/2008, -7/+23The safe side of what? The article isn't about an issue.
Paul supporters would love to think that there are no spammers, but you just prove them wrong.
And Ron Paul would be against the net neutrality that would let you use torrents/file-sharing, anyway. - blitzer, on 01/04/2008, -7/+22Was anyone else thinking peg leg and eye patch?
- borninda818, on 01/04/2008, -19/+33It's a legitimate questions but this submission is about Obama, Not Paul. He's off topic, bury.
- JoeVet, on 01/04/2008, -7/+20Doesn't really matter, Ron Paul has no chance of getting his party's nomination let alone the presidency. Obama however is a very viable candidate.
- inactive, on 01/04/2008, -11/+23dude, look at the Pirate Party press release, at the bottom. "The Pirate Party of the US does not support nor condone any unlawful distribution of copyrighted works." So you guys are pirates how? You wear eyepatches? Have wooden legs? Parrots? See all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies every day? Twice a day? (That is, of course, watching it from your netflix account.)
- allan17, on 01/04/2008, -0/+12I'm ***** Lou. Who the ***** are you?
- Farmer77, on 01/04/2008, -4/+15No more Ron Paul stories? Guess that fad is over.
- inactive, on 01/04/2008, -5/+16Wait... what? Why?! This is BS.
- ivanfilippov, on 01/04/2008, -1/+12lol, of course this type of support could be much more negative to Obama than positive.
People who don't like pirates (ninjas, conservatives, etc) would never support someone who is supported by Pirates. - pintomp3, on 01/04/2008, -2/+12net neutrality isn't about regulating the internet, it's about not letting the telecoms do it. it's about keeping it the way it is and not letting the telecoms ruin it.
- d3faultnet, on 01/04/2008, -0/+10net neutrality is in fact regulating it... but it's what people would call "good" regulation. it makes it so nobody can "own" the internet, which is what corporations want to do...
- PATSCRU, on 01/04/2008, -0/+10Yeah, if the libertarian in question acted like a libertarian instead of a christian fundamentalist right-wing statist, then he'd be more in favor with true libertarian ideals.
- shark72, on 01/04/2008, -0/+9All the torrent tracker sites say the same thing. The important thing is that we're all against those dirty ***** liars, the record companies.
- z00k, on 01/04/2008, -3/+12Heathen!
The Flying Spaghetti Monster shall take care of ye. - kevinwiz, on 01/04/2008, -3/+12Wrong.
- badjokes, on 01/04/2008, -6/+15OBAMA FTW!
- mhaus, on 01/04/2008, -0/+8igtg32a that's just like a conservative, starting a war with someone for no apparent reason.
- leaknoil, on 01/04/2008, -0/+8"If so then the Zionist run Media needs to be lynched. It's the final straw."
It may end up lucky for Ron Paul that he doesn't progress too far in this election. If he were to enter the top tier and rivals started attack ads and digging into his contributers I don't think people would like what they would find under that rock. - ktetch, on 01/04/2008, -0/+7no, in a theoretical from scratch free market, that's true. Alas, in the real world, there are lots of barriers to entry. Its the bit Paul supporters have a problem with, called "the real world"
- pintomp3, on 01/04/2008, -2/+9an unregulated free market is like an un-policed street. you just hand over control to the drug dealers. the solution to a corrupt police force is not to get rid of it, but to fix the corruption. we don't need less regulation, we need to end corporate influence in our government.
- ktetch, on 01/04/2008, -1/+8There are positive and negative regulations. No regulation is basically the enactment of the old saying "he who has the gold, makes the rules".
Requiring network Neutrality, that is a very positive regulation. If RP gets their way, Sandvine will be installed on every network, because the ISPs will find it profitable to do so. - pintomp3, on 01/04/2008, -0/+7ALICE!
- TheNik, on 01/04/2008, -2/+9They have to say that so they don't get sued. Plus, it could mean they don't condone selling copyrighted software, just sharing it.
- digitalpencil, on 01/04/2008, -1/+8Dont' get me wrong, i'm a BT junkie like most other diggers & totally support TPB in their fight against the RIAA/MPAA and for copyright legislation reform but please.. don't let something as simple as this sway your vote! There are, believe it or not, more important policies to endorse before we begin focusing our prime attention on copyright law! Read the neutral press, make a decision on your own terms and for God's sake, actually go down to the polling stations! The internet will forever be a highly vocal community but we are hardly renown for peeling our buttocks from the nacho-stained, leatherette finish of our computer chairs and actually make a difference in the real world!
- peestandingup, on 01/04/2008, -7/+14RP isn't for regulating the internet in any way. Its even on one of his campaign videos.
- JoeVet, on 01/04/2008, -0/+7They are saving the planet from global warming. Its a fact that global warming directly correlates with decreasing pirate numbers. The pirate party is trying to recruit new pirates to save the planet.
- chaosium, on 01/04/2008, -1/+7REGULATING THE FREE MARKET TO PREVENT MONOPOLY BEHAVIOR AND ABUSES MAKES IT NOT A FREE MARKET.
Ron Paul is against regulating against monopolies BECAUSE he is against meddling in the Free Market. - pennyfan87, on 01/04/2008, -60/+66Has Ron Paul ever commented on copyright law?
- goldenratiophi, on 01/04/2008, -1/+7no, it's BO
- darnit, on 01/04/2008, -1/+7Bottom of the article:
" Note: all Ron Paul comments will be censored ;) " - chaosium, on 01/04/2008, -6/+12"ANTI-MONOPOLY"
It's impossible to be pro-Free Market and anti-Monopoly. - chaosium, on 01/04/2008, -1/+6WOW even better!
- mOdQuArK, on 01/04/2008, -3/+8I haven't heard anything specific about "intellectual property", although I've heard he's against network neutrality since it requires government regulation. I wonder if he might actually be against intellectual property, since that also requires government regulation. No true libertariarian is for an anti-free market sort of device such as intellectual property anyway. It would certainly be a good question to ask him.
- shovelihave, on 01/04/2008, -2/+7"The Pirate Party of the US was established June 2006. The basic idea of the Pirate Party is simple - the government should encourage, rather than smother, creativity and freedom. The Pirate Party of US does not support nor condone any unlawful distribution of copywrited works."
Come to think of it...
When I use torrents, I DO feel pretty creative. But mostly free. - JoeVet, on 01/04/2008, -1/+6Obama and Kucinich are polar opposites of Ron Paul. Paul is much closer to Huckabee....you know, a fundamentalist with a social agenda.
