- zanothrope, on 07/18/2008, -23/+152It's as ridiculous to say that 2 men control the price of oil as it is to say that Pelosi knows what the hell she's talking about. I'm no Bush fan, but did anyone else notice that the price of a barrel of oil dropped $9 the moment he mentioned lifting the offshore drilling ban?
What's wrong with offshore drilling? China is going to do it right off our coast anyway. Who do we trust more to drill responsibly? China or America?
Will somebody in the government PLEASE say that we are going to to go full steam on ALL forms of energy, both established and emerging, and get is off of all foreign energy? - inactive, on 07/19/2008, -14/+93Uh huh. And which Belgian oil men are responsible for their $9.40 gasoline? Which French oilmen are responsible for their $8.95 gas? Which German oilmen are responsible for their $9.27 gas? Which Italian oilmen are responsible for their $9.23 gas??? This is one of the world's truly stupid people, and she obviously believe the rest of America is stupid too, if they believe her. Pelosi promised when she was campaigning for Congress, that if Democrats were elected, they would end the pain at the pump. And, since the Dems took over, gas prices have nearly doubled.
- barktwiggs, on 07/19/2008, -12/+86Funny, before the Democrats took control of both houses of congress, Pelosi blamed the Republicans for rising gas prices. Now that we've had almost two years of Democrat control in both houses, gas prices are even worse. I guess it's only incompetence when the other party is in charge.
- Shogi, on 07/18/2008, -23/+96And yet she constantly defends them by squashing impeachment talk and supporting their abuse of power.
- iizh, on 07/19/2008, -10/+75Arrogant bitch. The Democratic Congress has completely failed so now she's trying to place ALL the blame on Bush. In this country we whine and groan about the president an awful lot (rightfully) because he's the "face" of the government, but those ***** in Congress are just as much at fault. She can't face her own incompetence. She also needs to go take ECON 101.
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -25/+692 oil men and every person in Congress who voted to allow then fund the illegal invasions are to blame.
- keltin, on 07/19/2008, -13/+54zano- you're the only sane one here at the moment. I'd digg you up 20 times if I could.
These other insane a$$e$ are nothing but hate mongers and leftists who want the US to become another fawning, weak dick European socialist state. It ain't gonna happen. - diggdiggdug, on 07/19/2008, -31/+70Pelosi is such a stupid bitch. Yeah Bush sucks. But that does not change the fact that Pelosi is a complete Liberal Looser.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -5/+41Whoa, wait - You're telling me not even Donkey Kong can cite a smoking gun as to their crimes!? Well, if that's true, then forget about it.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -5/+41Nancy Pelosi couldn't impeach her way out of a wet, paper bag...
- prax, on 07/19/2008, -1/+31Pelosi is full of it. I can't stand Bush-- but she's just as bad in her own way. She KNOWS the crap she says isn't true but she tries to toss around all the ***** anyway to feed the flames. We digg down annoying people here... the same needs to be done to her.
- Badandy127, on 07/19/2008, -3/+31It was perjury you *****.
- Charlesbian, on 07/19/2008, -2/+30why doesn't she tell congress to do something, rather than using scape goats.
- kreatre2007, on 07/19/2008, -2/+29I noticed the drop in price when Bush announced that he was lifting the executive ban. I also noticed that the media ignored the connection. Instead, they reported analysts saying something else was causing the drop. Pelosi is simply trying to pass the blame to someone else. She won't allow a House vote on lifting the ban so she is now the problem. If she really thinks that she's right, why not allow Congress to vote on the ban? If she's right, the vote will fail to lift the ban. I think she knows that this is what most people want and she's afraid to lose. Pelosi is a failure. What has she done as Speaker that is of any merit? What has the Democrat party actually accomplished since they took over the majority?
- lpse2000, on 07/18/2008, -6/+31You want to bang her? Dude, that's sick
- Farnn, on 07/19/2008, -4/+28And yet, Clinton's lie was under oath, which makes it a FEDERAL CRIME!!!!!! How do people still not understand this...
- ifruit, on 07/19/2008, -3/+26You misspelled loser.
- hamobu, on 07/19/2008, -7/+30I thought high gas prices are because of instability, tight supply, rising demmand and droping value of the $. Turns out I was wrong! It's all Bush's fault. What a relief!
- Bagos1, on 07/19/2008, -9/+29Now that they are out of office she decides to do something about getting them out of office. What a brilliant and principled leader.......not. What a waste of your vote.
- zippy757, on 07/19/2008, -6/+25What a ridiculous and uneducated statement.
I guess should we therefore need to credit these two men for the $19 slide in oil in the last week.... - apothekari, on 07/19/2008, -6/+25@Barbarino.
The goddamn Republicans moved heaven and earth for 4 or 5 years impeaching Clinton for a GODDAMN BLOWJOB.
END OF STORY.
The Spineless Dems can't be moved to do ANYTHING.
Until ***** changes in this country I and all my friends and family WILL be voting AGAINST the incumbent in every office whether the been there 2 years or 40 if these ***** have to fear for their jobs like I fear for mine maybe they'll ***** respond. - tommyhanks, on 07/19/2008, -5/+23I had to digg that, "weak dick European socialist state" is just awesome.
- palewook, on 07/19/2008, -0/+18blame the retarded congress for not stopping the constant spending which has doubled the debt for the past 8 years. like these gimps couldn't see the devaluation of the dollar comes from printing all that funny money. the national debt will break 10 trillion soon. and thats without counting a war in Iran, 5 trillion in bad mortage loans imploding, or the social security time bomb.
frankly everyone in congress should be put in jail until the debt equals zero. - espowari, on 07/19/2008, -11/+29Nancy P clearly has no idea who or what controls the price of anything other than the Midol that she clearly needs.
- MtheoryX, on 07/19/2008, -4/+22I typically lean slightly left, politically; however, you have hit the nail right on the head with this one.
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -5/+22That's funny. It's people like her who have stopped the US from expanding its capacity to drill for more oil, prevented companies from building and expanding refineries at home, and who have refused to act on George W. Bush the oil man's call for Congress to work on moving our nation towards a more balanced energy diet that includes nuclear, geothermal, solar, and wind energy.
Pelosi should be ashamed of herself. - tommyhanks, on 07/19/2008, -6/+23Impeach them for high gas prices?
- tillerman00, on 07/19/2008, -14/+31And one skull-faced whore to blame for not doing a goddam thing about it.
- PabloMac, on 07/19/2008, -1/+17McCain has dibs on that one.
- Mootabolife, on 07/19/2008, -6/+22It's hard to find a smoking gun when that smoking gun happens to be a bunch of smoking computers destroyed to hide all of the emails with incriminating data.
- bphicke, on 07/19/2008, -1/+17Its so much easier to use Bush's actions as political talking points to get Democrats elected than to actually do something.
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -4/+19The Democrats and Republicans don't work for the American people, they work for the international bankers.
- BeefBaron, on 07/19/2008, -15/+30A smoking penis was all that was needed to impeach last time.
- perrym, on 07/19/2008, -8/+23this silly bitch is just more of the same.
it doesnt matter if they are on the left or the right, its just more of the same. - inactive, on 07/19/2008, -14/+28Pelosi may well be one of the stupidest people in Congress. Who wants to drill for oil offshore? Who wants to drill in ANWAR (1/9 of the total area of ANWAR, BTW)? Who's the only one who wants to bring real solutions to the table? When Bush lifted the presidential ban, oil dropped $9. Dems claim that offshore drilling won't produce oil for 5-10 years. This is a much slower timeframe, than say cars which run on rainbows and happiness which is RIGHT around the corner. I guarantee you--if Congress lifted the ban, oil would probably fall $15-20 in the first day. So much of the price of oil is speculation right now. The rest of it is demand from China and India.
Good reading: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucac/20080716/cm_ucac/this ... - delrin500, on 07/19/2008, -8/+21THEN DO SOMETHING WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- hayehudi, on 07/19/2008, -7/+20Gas prices are more the fault of congress than Bush. She knows this. Yet she lets partisan distrust get in the way of real progress and can only play the name game rather than allowing drilling here at home, which is what will inevitably happen years down the road anyway when supplies are threatened or dwindle elsewhere. The current congress makes me sick.
- slayerab, on 07/19/2008, -1/+14Cheney was an oilman back when oil was 89 cents a gallon, does that mean he was responsible for those prices too? I'm a democrat, but I respect Bush for at least trying to ease the pain that Americans are suffering at the pump by proposing looking offshore while Pelosi and co want to research 'alternative fuels' and leave Americans in pain with oil prices for the next 20 years until a viable solution is found (And no, a 2person go cart that can go 200 miles on a hydrogen charge or a hydrogen bmw that is only affordable to the hollywood elite is not a viable solution) to our dependency on oil. If the government cared so much about the dependency of oil, they would have taxed gas back in the 90's and used the money to research viable alternatives back then, its not like they didn't know that crude was gonna be hard to find back then.
- tommyhanks, on 07/19/2008, -0/+12So you picked up that she looks like Skeletor as well?
- lowjeep, on 07/19/2008, -1/+13Like any other time the libs are in power they have accomplished a bunch. Like doubling the price of oil and gas by their anti-drilling and no new refineries (failure to supply demand) talk as well as hiking food inflation with their ethanol mandates and tax credits(the high price of corn is the leading cause of our high food prices). Those 2 things, the high price of fuel and food inflation, are the major reasons our economy has gone to ***** since the Dems took over the majority in Congress. They've come along way in the 2 years they have controlled congress.
- JuanBSU, on 07/19/2008, -2/+14Should there have been a comma placed before or after the word 'you'?
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -2/+14In other news, Alberta alone has six times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia.
"The vast tar sands of Alberta in Canada hold oil reserves six times the size of Saudi Arabia's."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/jul/11/ ... - bc289, on 07/19/2008, -6/+16My god, I am sick of every single congressman who tries to put the blame on someone for high gas prices. Gas prices are high because of high global demand, not because of any single person. An exploding middle class in China is what's responsible - demand for imported oil from China has tripled in the last year by itself. Throw in other smaller economies that are growing and our stupid ways of consuming oil (we have way too many damn SUVs) and it's pretty easy to justify high oil prices on just supply and demand alone.
- Yookji, on 07/19/2008, -1/+11I wish the entire country had to take ECON 101.
- Rewdog, on 07/19/2008, -2/+12Nancy Pelosi has a lower approval rating than Bush.
- TacticalSniper, on 07/19/2008, -5/+15Weird. I don't see much actual factual proof in what she says. Besides, I don't remember democrats launching hard into such projects as Alaska drilling, alternative fuels, et cetera. Not more than the republicans.
- Farnn, on 07/19/2008, -2/+12I love it, to many Bush is barely smart enough to put his pants on in the morning, and yet he is able successfully to hide all traces of his "crimes" from millions who hate him and are looking for any shred of evidence? I guess only insult him when it helps make your point.
