- badmedia, on 10/10/2007, -14/+98to be fair, he has changed a good bit for the good since jon stewart ripped him so hard. IMO, that is what we need, people who realize the wrong and change. So yes, I'm happy that he supports Ron Paul. I'm happy with everyone who supports him.
- obliviousfool, on 10/10/2007, -8/+48Dugg for 'strippers for Ron Paul!'
- Cerpin_Taxt, on 10/10/2007, -5/+44Why is this not in the video section? Link to the source, not your blog.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ubdaPVKOfc - cygnus2112, on 10/10/2007, -6/+40Ron Paul's honesty and adherence to the true intentions of the Constitution can't be understood by the simpletons. If a candidate isn't buried in lobbyist money and backed by their party's full momentum for bending to their pork barrel pet projects, then they will never be elected. Barack Obama isn't popular because of how Barack Obama feels or his convictions. He's popular because he repeats what the Democratic Party and their zealots want to hear. Obama is a bobble head.
- falseleftright, on 10/10/2007, -8/+39Someone, I can't remember who, referred to Ron Paul as a Palidan of the Constitution. Can you think of a better compliment for someone who's oath of office (hope hope) reads: The Presidential Oath of Office The oath to be taken by the president on first entering office is specified in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Amen.
- pandira, on 10/10/2007, -5/+34Ron Paul rightly, Constitutionally, believes that the question is one for the States and that the Federal; government has no authority over the subject.
- tropican8, on 10/10/2007, -5/+34Actually, he's always been a Ron Paul supporter. He voted for him when he was the libertarian candidate in 1988.
- Influsion, on 10/10/2007, -12/+38Because the rest of the media is misinformed or actively slandering and ignoring Ron Paul. Furthermore, it's not just Tucker, it's also Chris Matthews and Pat Buchanan. You might be alluding to Tucker's confrontation with Jon Stewart, where he came across as a jerk (actually both Stewart and Tucker did), but even Jon Stewart appears to respect Ron Paul's honesty along with Tucker and other celebrities.
- cbartlett, on 10/10/2007, -8/+29Dugg because she is cute.
- DonWigler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23To compare Ron Paul to Bush because the are both Texas Republicans is beyond ignorant.
- dm01587, on 10/10/2007, -5/+25In my opinion, there's more important things than that at stake over the next few years.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22"Hillary would too, but she would need a strap-on."
No, she wouldn't.
>_> - wholly2b, on 10/10/2007, -8/+27You're joking, I know, but my fear if he got elected would be assassination. I don't think they -- who? I dunno. TPTB --would let him get away with restoring our government to a constitutional (as opposed to corporate) country. That was poorly worded, but you get what I mean.
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19You can spin whatever small ***** however the hell you want. But overall he is for small government and would rather a charitable organization spend their money trying to save Darfur. I can tell you he sure as hell doesn't want taxpayer money funding anything. Read up on his overall political ideology and spare yourself looking like an idiot next time.
- johndoenumber2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22I can see from reading this forum thread that the Ron Paul Revolution has a long way to go in educating the people as they have been dumbed down pretty severely for generations and do not know enough history about our own founding revolution which made this nation great.
Most of those against Ron Paul are pure socialistic public school trained nanny state loving dumb dumbs. The rest are big government wannabe elitist neocons shilling for their masters. The whole bunch do not have enough development in their gray matter to even be reached without some kind of Constitution boot camp. - gwss76, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20You know what's so funny....all the thumbs up for all the people who support Ron Paul and all the 0 or negative ratings for people who dislike Ron Paul. you know what that tells me. There might actually be a real contingent of people who support Ron Paul. You don't have to believe me. Come to my meetup group of over 200 people. Let's see...? how many people are in meetup groups for the other candidates? Hmmm.....an other telling statistic.
- Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -6/+23"I mean, come on. The Gold Standard?"
You want a private company to be able to print your currency without being pegged at some hard asset? Good for you
"Outright racism?"
Seen many Ron Paul speeches, never heared him say anything remotely racist
"Inform yourselves before you go shouting RON PAUL"
You inform yourself, obviously you don't know what you're talking about.
"Digg me down"
Done. - smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19Wow, all I can say is what the *****? Running as a third party candidate would just ensure the party least similar to his political views (in this case Democrats) the win. Why? It will split the vote between Republicans and Libertarians and give Democrats the plurality. Ron Paul knows this.
Cool ideas. They aren't cool ideas, they are the original ideas that this country was founded on. Please for the sake of the country and these boards don't respond to another Paul article until you educate yourself. And when you come back to flame me, why don't you tell me who you are voting for and why. (Note: Because they have a shot at winning doesn't count.) - Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18The Money Masters - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-515319560256183936

Fed = Fraud - Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18its not about going back to "gold standard"
its about a private company called "Federal Reserve" who are printing your money, and charging YOU interest on it.
to compare Fed to Electric light or automibiles is just funny - minoss, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19It's amazing how user controlled content reflects the beliefs of the majority of users.
- gottadiggit, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22You've got a bad case of American Dementia. It would be Rudy Giuliani who would do what you're talking about. Hillary would too, but she would need a strap-on.
- ColonelJessup, on 10/10/2007, -8/+23Man, I was hoping she would take off her shirt...............
- seks03, on 10/10/2007, -11/+26Dude... you are a ***** retard... what is wrong with you?
- flukexp, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Tucker Carlson saying "we love Ron Paul, and we're not ashamed to say it", and then interviewing a stripper, does not help Ron Paul's image.
The current coverage he is getting is not appealing for mainstream people who are not aware of his record. The last interview he had on Fox News associated him with conspiracy theorists and nut jobs and then cut to commercial.
Even if its a positive interview overall this sort of coverage is damaging to name association. - Smuikas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15I can see his reasoning for voting against this bill. This bill would intervene in the free market, prohibiting private companies from doing business in Sudan. He believes that the free market should decide: if you don't like what's going on in Sudan, don't buy stuff or invest in companies that do business in Sudan. It's not the government's place to place this kind of trade restriction on private corporations. I could see him voting /for/ bills that would cut off FEDERAL funding to anything that benefits the genocidal entities within Sudan.
He doesn't support genocide, he supports free trade.
I might be less understanding if it was a bill that would require business that invest in / sell / trade with Sudan to publicly announce this fact in some public venue - so that private investors and consumers could decide whether they want to back said business. - Navicerts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14RP is for a less powerful government. People use this against him by saying things like "he doesn't support a womens right to choose". In reality, he thinks the government should have nothing to do with someone right to choose, and i agree. The government has grown larger and larger and it's out of control. Things like public education and the no child left behind act are a nightmare and good examples of how the government ***** things up. Granted we can't just change all that if he got into office, but with him in office we would move in that direction, and i think it's for the best.
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14When you ***** start pulling racism and genocide, I know Paul's message is scaring you. So I have to ask, what's so scary about liberty? Try investigating all the other candidates with as much fervor and you'll end up supporting Ron Paul with the rest of us.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14really, people die everyday, liberty is born once in a blue moon.
- BabaRamDass, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14It's important to know that he would not prevent a woman from going to a neighboring state to seek abortion. His stance is that the federal government should have no stance on abortion, be it preventing it or barring it.
Abortion is a very controversial issue; why should we have a one-size-fits-all solution for something like this? The closer the issue is to the people, the easier it is for them to shape the laws governing said issue to meet their tastes. Personally, I'm for legalizing abortion and marijuana, but I don't think the federal government should be telling all the states what their policies should be. It's much easier for me to shape the laws regarding these topics when I have to fight for them at the state level, as opposed to the federal level. Also, I can always choose to move to a state whose laws coincide with my beliefs. - minoss, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15You have freedom of speech from the government, not from me burying your ass.
- Pssdoff, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13lol somethingawful.com forum! Truly the pinnacle of investigative journalism there.
- happytron, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13The zero tolerance on abortion is a complete fabrication. He sees it as a state's rights issue. Most libertarians see globalization as a good thing, so I doubt he intends to make it go away. Trade treaties are unnecessary with a policy of unilateral liberalization. The guns on planes bit is hard to defend, although I can imagine that sort of talk might appeal to the republican base. He didn't really elaborate, so its plausible that he was just talking about arming the pilots, which I assume most people would find to be an eminently sound proposal.
- laserdog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12The only thing I like about Ron Paul is that people are excited to vote *for* someone.
For far too long people have been voting *against* a candidate.
I may not at all agree with any of his policies (save the drug war), but I love that he's energizing people to care about politics.
And while we're talking labels, the "he's not liberal so I hate him" sorta mindset really isn't at all "liberal"... Therefore you may consider hating yourself, or perhaps do a bit of research to be better able to communicate why you don't support him. - Navicerts, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Thats odd, I see the opposite. When i listen to the other candidates I hear them dance around questions clearly trying to say whatever will please the most people to get elected, never really answering one way or the other (how they govern themselves in the office is up to anyones guess). On the other hand, I don't even need to ask RP where he stands on most issues because I already know, it's fit to an algorithm that is the constitution. Just listen to what he has to say and you will probably see this, if you don't you are not intelligent enough and i am sorry for you.
- Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11@RedNote
Stop, you sound more retarded with every comment you make, in 20 years of him working in politics he has never been rascist, and your argument is very dishonest, and its the same argument (along with 'he wants to take away your freedom of choice', and "he supports darfur genocide") that all of you make.
all those arguments are dishonest and if you've ever seen him speak, or if you've ever read his writings you should know that he is a good man, fighting for YOUR liberty, RedNote - mshtml, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12The two party system is an illusion. Democrats aren't voting to defund the war. Democrats are giving Bush more power to spy on and detain without evidence the American people. Democrats haven't changed a thing since taking power last year. If you think republicans are dumb or democrats are spineless you're another unwitting star in the game. There is one party. Paul is trying to defeat it.
- Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10hey i partially aggree, but since no other main stream media outlet will not touch any ron paul stories, i say that any MSM attention is good attention
- BabaRamDass, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12I don't think there's one candidate with whom I agree 100%. So, for me personally, I'll take the good with the bad because I personally think the good outweighs the bad in Ron Paul's case.
- Ben1987, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Bush is from Massachusetts...
- nodlezfodlez, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13the official campaign website is http://www.ronpaul2008.com, by the way.
- matador3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Lamest fallacy ever, besides the Austrian school wasn't around in the 19th century. He's talking about a better gold standard.
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11It would be an infringement of your freedom of speech if you weren't allowed to comment. Ass.
- matador3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Look, he said he didn't write that and he has never written or said anything remotely racist before or since. Believe him or don't but you're being intellectually dishonest by not pointing out that he claims it's not his statement. It's funny how you can't offer anything to corroborate his "racism" that isn't from the same newsletter that he says didn't write. There's certainly no discernible pattern. I can provide many verifiable examples of his writings on the topic of race that aren't the slightest bit racist
- Bamborzled, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Democracy = rule by majority. Or to word it differently, mob rule. This is why the US is a republic and not a direct democracy.
- Zlaya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9it comes from people like me :) and probably that neighbour of yours with a yard sign
- Tiak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10This is a fallacious argument... "Because we haven't done something in a long time, going back to it must be equivalent to regressing to that point in all other ways"... Please come back with an argument that isn't moronic, and we'll talk.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I don't get what your talking about. I support Ron Paul but I am a democrat. I disagree with him on a lot of things. I just think that with the current state of the nation we need things that democrats simply can't offer. We can't be giving away free things like the democrats do. We don't have the money for big government right now. We need an anti war anti spending small government conservative to shrink the government and get us back on track or we will lose everything.
- Influsion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Newscasters in MSNBC are transparent about their political leanings, they may tell you their opinion, but they'll make it clear it's an opinion. Whereas a FOX News correspondent would simply pretend to be objective, and yet promote Giuliani or Romney by making false claims.
