++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an ***unusually critical*** election year.
Let's look at the educational background of your two options:
Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude
& Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
vs.
McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899
& Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism
Now, which team are you going to "hire" ?

(This is an unusually critical election year. Act responsibly. Please Digg-up & forward.) - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -18/+88FTA: The McCain/Palin campaign, in a response to NBC News, provided a family twist to the story, saying the governor's husband - Todd Palin - was the source of that information to Bailey. They say the information came from divorce proceedings, and that Gov. Palin never improperly accessed any records.
Still trying to cover up for Sarah. Pitiful! - Maaarrrk, on 09/05/2008, -18/+58Will she be indicted before election day. That's what the GOP gets for passing up hundreds of qualified women to go for the beauty queen. Miss Alaska runner up.
- ISurfTooMuch, on 09/05/2008, -5/+26CNN is also reporting on this:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/04/palin.inves ... - Spuy767, on 09/05/2008, -4/+22Look on the bright side, some of them can't because they are middle and high schoolers who are pretending to be big boys on the interent.
- cedarbaydave, on 09/05/2008, -3/+21Poopergate is about to break about McCain checking out her arse when she was speaking in Ohio.
- rodrigo74, on 09/05/2008, -7/+24More like "had to make a few decisions, messed up most of them and now blame the media and others".
Did you ever check the ***** that was Palin's period as mayor of Wasilla? She got a city with no debts and left the place with a 22 million debt. So much for a "fiscal conservative"! - gerrylazlo, on 09/05/2008, -13/+31I call for a ban on using -gate to refer to a scandal ever again. Stand with me brothers!
- fuzzmeister, on 09/05/2008, -2/+16In Washington or Lincoln's times, nowhere near as many people went on to higher education as do now, so it was much more common and acceptable to have a lackluster record.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+14It comes from the Watergate scandal involving Nixon -- some shady stuff went down at the Watergate Hotel. People just started using the -gate suffix after that.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+13"extreme liberal studies" lmao
- RyanOC, on 09/05/2008, -2/+13It scares me that many that have a strong opinion don't vote at all, get out there ant f*cking vote people!
- BDOUG, on 09/05/2008, -0/+10Can any actual lawyers shed a little legal light on this for us laymen? I can't tell from the article if the access was truly illegal or not.
If the access was legal, they need to stop barking up this tree. It just makes the media look stupid.
If the access was actually illegal, then we do not want this person in the White House. We've already had 8 years of an administration that thinks it is above the law. I don't care how scummy the trooper was or how "justified" it was to get rid of him, a person in power needs to follow the rules to the letter and try to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. - mikelist, on 09/05/2008, -0/+10you made coffee come out of my nose.
- TigerStar337, on 09/05/2008, -14/+24Abuse of power. Shocking! Remember, Jesus was a Community Organizer and Pontius Pilate was a Governor.
God Bless America and God Bless Barack Obama! - Kenzan, on 09/05/2008, -6/+15"Did Sarah Palin Illegally Access Police Files?"
Of course she did..numerous times. The evidence is fairly clear.
If elected, will she do the same to you?
The evidence also shows there's no reason why she would not. - ehalasey, on 09/05/2008, -0/+9I think there's a huge difference between being a student who graduated Magna Cum Laude and one who could barely maintain a C average. "Having an education" means actually learning things, not skating by on daddy's dollar.
- SandMantle, on 09/05/2008, -0/+9Uhhh... pretty sure "he had it coming" isn't a good defense of illegal acts.
- harbon, on 09/05/2008, -0/+8I guess you've never heard of the Watergate Scandal...?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watergate_Scandal - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -4/+12Obama is not Jesus.
- nickycakes, on 09/05/2008, -11/+19This is obviously a sexist investigation.
- kloda, on 09/05/2008, -13/+22By your standard, Washington and Lincoln should never have been elected.
- Murdats, on 09/05/2008, -0/+8everyone else is extreme hey?
the entire rest of the world is extreme but you and your buddies? - justjoehere, on 09/05/2008, -1/+9Apathy rules and ruins all elections.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -3/+10Actually, the majority of Americans agree with what you would label as "liberal" policies.
- morphkons, on 09/05/2008, -3/+10I'm quite willing to concede the ex-brother-in-law is totally unfit to be a State Tropper and should not only be fired he should be sent to jail. The real question is, if he weren't the x b-i-l would she still be trying to get him fired or would she be defending him as a first responder law enforcement hero who is protecting us from the islamofascist terrorists? If it's the later this has more to do with revenge than reform.
- bbtweb, on 09/05/2008, -0/+7stop parroting sound bytes, shut up and read about the issues. You won't find much substance in your camp. McCain throws around that he's a POW as much as Rudy talks about 9/11. The sad thing is having fought in a colossally useless war like Vietnam, you would think McCain would have enough "experience" to end yet another colossally useless war like Iraq, but he doesn't, instead he wants to keep us there. How stupid can one get?
- sidewinderaim9x, on 09/05/2008, -1/+8Separation of powers exist for a reason.
- Sakinah, on 09/05/2008, -4/+11No one is above the law...Why should she be? This needs investigated badly, but by the right people !!! One of the things that made me happy yesterday is that I read that the Bush Administration might be investigated if Obama Wins!!!
Obama/Biden 08 - CeeAyy, on 09/05/2008, -1/+7This is not about whether or not he deserved to be fired. This is about allegations of a politician abusing her power and position for personal reasons. It deserves to be investigated and talked about.
Also, in the bigger picture... this is about a VP who wasn't vetted. She hasn't been a candidate for even a month and already there are several serious accusations relating to her. In the end, this is more about the bad judgement of a Presidential candidate. He chose a gimmick over substance. - aaronirwin31, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6You can thank Nixon for that. From the original -gate scandal.... that being WATERGATE, which was just the name of a hotel, but at any rate, you're stuck with it.
- SpinningHead, on 09/05/2008, -2/+8Apparently you missed what happened the past 8yrs with a half-wit in office. Only the American right could consider education to be "elitist".
- oldhick, on 09/05/2008, -1/+7Watergate.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6The McCain/Palin campaign Thursday launched a spirited defense when contacted by NBC News. They say the personnel files were not protected; a campaign source says Wooten himself had previously signed a waiver allowing a divorce lawyer to obtain his personnel records. The campaign then sent a copy of that waiver to NBC News, which reads "I hereby waive any privilege I may have to said information to said attorneys."
-----
End of non-story. - kingp, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6I'm not sure if I understood your comment correctly, and I'm NOT defending Palin...but Todd Palin and Sarah Palin are still married. The Divorce proceedings mentioned were for her Sister and Bro In-Law's divorce...just to clarify.
PS - Don't blame me...I voted for Ron Paul. - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -3/+9ugh - i hate how political wags put gate on the end of any god damn thing to imply a scandal.
- poesybeater, on 09/05/2008, -3/+8What experience? She was in college longer than she's had experience. 6 years for a crappy BA is abysmal, to say the least. Even Bush the dolt beat that.
- bentman78, on 09/05/2008, -1/+6I'll know I'll get dugg down because my comment isn't bashing Palin and spreading unwarranted hyperbole,
but it's also not shocking a small Alaskan news source has more integrity than MSN. - kloda, on 09/05/2008, -1/+6Subterfuge,you ignore a lot of history and make it sound like Lincoln started the War. Our nation was pretty much heading down the path to civil war before Lincoln took office (Mason-Dixon Line, Missouri Compromise, etc.). If it wasn't Lincoln who was president during the Civil War, it would have been Stephen Douglas to shoulder your accusation.
- stupidStan, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5watergate
- charm803, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5I think you should add experience on there, Biden is one of the most experienced Senators and has experience with foreign policy. He trumps McCain & Palin combined.
- camiller, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5"This needs investigated badly"
I disagree, I believe it should be investigated thoroughly. - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5Stories like this are different from the family-oriented ones, though.
- Locnar, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5I've heard your tone before somewhere..
OH now I remember
HEY KID GET OFF MY LAWN.......
I'm thankful when younger Americans pay attention to whats going on in there country.. its a good thing! - Uzael, on 09/05/2008, -3/+8Sounds like a perfect Vice President.
- lvgal, on 09/05/2008, -1/+5It's too bad that so many people view confuse education and elitism - right now this country is in deep trouble, and we need someone with intelligence in top position. Keep posting the facts!
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+5Read up on it dude. I'm from "another country" as well, but the whole Watergate thing is quite fascinating. Wikipedia is a good place to start, but there is quite a few web site that talks about it.
It wasn't a petty drama like this "troopergate" thing... - bentman78, on 09/05/2008, -12/+17Education makes you a better President? You shouldn't' have a problem with Bush then...he went to Yale...
- SpinningHead, on 09/05/2008, -1/+5"in case you didn't notice, lincoln invaded and destroyed a nation that had declared sovereignty. if he hadn't been elected, 625,000 lives would have been saved and we probably wouldnt be complaining about evangelicals in politics today."
What history book did you read? It was the republicans who took over after lincolns death who sought to punish the south rather than bring the country back together which led to southern resentment. Those same kind of republicans later removed all reconstruction laws to bring southern whites into the party and led to jim crow. -
