- Homerr, on 07/13/2009, -5/+37Time to pass a non-binding resolution admonishing the former president!
/ugh
I wish Congress would grow a pair. - areyouserial, on 07/13/2009, -6/+35Obama granted telcos immunity for engaging in illegal acts involving the --ONGOING-- NSA domestic surveillance program. Why people assume Obama is willing to change any security policies is beyond me. His actions are consistent with Bush's.
- sicsempertyrann, on 07/13/2009, -18/+44Authorizing illegal spying= 1% chance of impeachment. Getting a BJ in the office=99% chance of impeachment
- stuffradio, on 07/13/2009, -3/+24If they charge anyone of the Republicans (like Bush maybe?), they better do the same for Democrats since they're still using the program.
- jrm125, on 07/13/2009, -3/+19PATRIOT act. Let's get working on that, shall we?
- NoLibertarians, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18A Democrat bashing Bush, well now I'm stunned.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -3/+16Yes we need to spend millions on trials to impeach him now that he's out of office, all the while ignoring the fact that Obama is continuing his programs...brilliant.
- Pschkqitzsough, on 07/14/2009, -1/+14Obama supports it as well, but funny there is no mention of that..............
Both parties are corrupt, for some reason millions of Americans assume one of the two parties MUST be right/just.
People seem to constantly be pointing out things the opposing party is so wrong about, yet choose to simply ignore the blatant atrocities of their own party. IMO liberals/Dems. fall into this category more often than conservatives, but that doesn't mean conservatives/Repubs. are much better. - diggwut, on 07/13/2009, -7/+20Clinton was actually impeached for perjury while testifying under oath in a sexual harassment case leveled against him by a woman named Paula Jones. She was one of many women that accused Clinton of making unwanted sexual advances toward them. (Most were the subject of vicious campaigns of personal destruction.)
During routine questioning to determine whether someone suspected of being a sexual predator has a pattern of making unwanted advances, the former president lied about his relationship with his 19 year old intern, Monica Lewinsky.
To say President Clinton was impeached because of a 'bj' is a distortion of the facts, and does an awful disservice to all victims of sex crimes. - kingnova, on 07/13/2009, -14/+26Any more buzzwords you would like to throw out there to prove you are a buzzword using shill?
- scotchyscotch, on 07/13/2009, -20/+32Guess what, Obama is still carrying on the same Bush surveillance policies, so quit yer b-tch-in
- Dustin00, on 07/13/2009, -2/+12I'd be thrilled to offer up Pelosi to go down with Bush.
Fair and balanced! - RocketGib, on 07/13/2009, -4/+14The top "Dems" and "GOP" can "say" whatever they want all day, the problem is that they do absolutely nothing past that point.
- akchrs, on 07/13/2009, -3/+13I just googled "John Conyers scandal". Why isn't this guy in jail?
- OniNezumi, on 07/13/2009, -7/+16There was no impeachment for a BJ, it was the lying about a BJ that lead to impeachment.
- cardgame326, on 07/13/2009, -4/+13But its totally cool for Obama to continue said program.
- Tanktunker, on 07/13/2009, -5/+14OK, lying about sex: 100% chance of impeachment.
Violate the constitution of the United States of America, the document which the man took an oath to uphold: 0% chance of impeachment. - bullhead2007, on 07/14/2009, -0/+8You're right. Both parties are just as *****. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain wrong.
We need to flush the toilet, Congress is just over flowing with *****. - Richandler, on 07/13/2009, -4/+12Does it matter who used it in the first place? No what matters is who is using it period. That's like saying because Bush shot someone he should be tried for murder despite Obama adding more shots.
- WasabiBomb, on 07/13/2009, -2/+9Mmm... Metaphoritas...
- TonyLocNE, on 07/14/2009, -1/+7@propethic
Who's forgiving Bush? I know I'm not.
Fact of the matter is that Obama said he was for "change" and since his election, he has done nothing but perpetuate Bush's statist political agenda. - novenator, on 07/12/2009, -16/+22Is this the smoking gun?
- scotchyscotch, on 07/14/2009, -1/+7"Fact of the matter is that Obama said he was for "change" and since his election, he has done nothing but perpetuate Bush's statist political agenda."
Couldn't have said it better myself, however with a much more expensive bill, that has bankrupted this country. - TonyLocNE, on 07/13/2009, -4/+10Maybe the smoking gun is driving home the fact that Obama has fooled all of you...
Whether it be selective memory or a true memory fail, Obama voted in favor of both the Telecom Immunity bill AND the Reauthorization of the Patriot Act. - sooperdooper, on 07/14/2009, -0/+5I've seen this system described as more of a Polyarchy, where there is democratic selection of political figures from a limited set or class of people who have either already achieved some status and wealth or been born into it.
- diggduggDOOM, on 07/13/2009, -5/+10Some people mix their metaphors. You throw them in a blender.
- inactive, on 07/14/2009, -2/+7In related news, Monica Conyers, bag lady of Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. John Conyers, pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Bribery.
All ltogether: George Bush's criminal, John Conyers da man... - treehugger87, on 07/14/2009, -2/+7@jesus, Congress was derelict in its duty to put Bush under oath and ask him "routine" questions not about his sex life but about suspected illegal activity while he was in office. Congressional Republicans blocked all efforts to do so (they blocked all efforts to do just about anything from 2006-2008, threatening to filibuster more and more frequently than at any other time in our nation's history).
I'm with Gareth. Suggesting that nothing Bush did was illegal is partisan and highly naive. For proof you should see HR 799 from 2008. This bill was introduced by Dennis Kucinich and substantially outlines 35 crimes for which George Bush should be impeached.
http://www.impeachbush.tv/progress/dk_aoi_bush/ - Wargala, on 07/13/2009, -2/+7Oh please. You act like Democrats have EVER had a backbone. They'll whoop it up to look good in front of the cameras, and then cave like a Mike Tyson opponent.
- treehugger87, on 07/14/2009, -1/+5And yet the Congress from 2000-2008 refused to even have Bush or his minions come in for questioning to give them an opportunity to lie. Clinton was accused of getting blown by a woman who consented to blow him then he lied about it. Bush is accused of illegal spying, lying to Congress, war crimes, election tampering, illegally firing federal judges for political reason, and the list goes on and on. Somehow we never managed to pull him in front of a grand jury or even a closed door group of Senators in order to catch him in a lie.
- stonecircle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4Before I speak, I have something important to say.
- brickbat, on 07/13/2009, -4/+8***** you Conyers. In opposition its all IMPEACH IMPEACH IMPEACH. Get into power and its off the table. The whole congress except for Kucinich and Paul are traitors.
- twinklyJesus, on 07/13/2009, -9/+13again and again we go over this:
Clinton was not impeached over a blow job. He was impeached for purgery because of the Paula Jones Sex scandal and Monica Lewinsky, also at least two other women had sexual harassment suits, I believe.
Regardless, he was impeached for lying under oath, which is unforgivable as a sitting President. We haven't even touched on obstruction of Justice, yet.
Way more evidence against Clinton than what keeps cropping up here. I believe this is done to distract easily manipulated ragers from the current failure-in-chief. Why are we talking about it? Bush can't be impeached now, he's out of office. They'll play hell doing anything. Nothing he did was a violation of the law, or the Democrat majority would have gotten him in the two years they had to do it.
Drop it the ***** off a cliff. Let it go. It's over. Let's pay attention to what the new moron is ***** up. - iXam, on 07/13/2009, -3/+7But...But... He is black!
- IVillageIdiot, on 07/14/2009, -5/+9OK, it looks like we'll need to re-construct the Underground Railroad and use it to help CIA, FBI, GW Administration officials, and other At Risk individuals seek refuge against the political show trials the Socialist are busy propping up to justify their continuing treasonous assault against the America.
If you are an Agent in need of such assistance, first lobby your friends and family to find a friend or two that can temporarily house you for several weeks. You must setup ahead of time and find those that can be trusted and are willing to risk persecution by the Leftist. You'll need to get several friendly echelons distant and then we need to work out the finances so that people can contribute to maintain your freedom until the Socialist are finally thrown out of Washington.
On the good side, I’m sure there are many, many helpers in government that will sympathize with your plight and assist in the ways they can without drawing attention to themselves:
Suggestions for Helpers:
======================
1. Drag your feet. You don’t have to sabotage anything, just delay whatever it is the Administration is trying to accomplish for a day or two. Be selective, if it's related to the persecution of patriots, delay. If it's defense related, by all means SOP!
2. Loose paperwork. You don’t have to steal government docs, just remember the ways they’ve been previously lost, and duplicate the circumstances where the objective is to thwart persecutions.
3. Call in sick on planning days. This will cause the planning to be delayed and help your friends escape without calling much attention to yourself. If several Patriots do the same thing, it's better. It will look like an office bug and there is safty in numbers.
4. Leak Obama documents and tactics at crucial moments.
5. Cause confusion. Pick words that are easily misunderstood. Play it off as joke.
6. Make selected recordings of Socialist persecution tactics to be played back on talk radio at a later date and affording you and your friends some cover.
7. Organize! Find like minded Patriots, those who have served and are able to keep the faith. You know what I mean!
8. Sow dissent in the various Obama factions and those loyal to Socialism.
9. Use your influence to implicate or cast doubts on Obama/Socialist cadre in scandals, and if possible in crimes. You can suggest plausible motives that plant the seeds of their destruction and at the same time claim you're just brainstorming and trying to do a good job for the agency.
10. Alienate Obama/Socialist supporters in your agency, cause them to doubt and to fear. Make them feel like they are all alone and doomed TO BE alone. Intimate that their ideas are pathetic and lowbrow, you don’t have to say, just spread it around.
11. Conduct whisper campaigns against their appointees. If caught, it's just harmless water cooler rumors. And, you won't do it again. Be sure to promise! ;}
12. Many Socialist are prone to conspiracy, not surprising since they ARE a conspiracy; use that cagy, quirky, instability to rattle them by sowing into discussions the use of their code words so they are constantly second guessing themselves, but ALWAYS put the onus back on them by using the words legitimately in the context you present.
13. Cause division, to the extent possible, between Appointees that are Obama/Socialist and career staff. They'll be gone soon and it won't hurt the agency once they are. If they should carry this coup d' tat to it's fullest potential and continue with yet more stolen elections, you'll need them weakened in any case for the last phase of our resistance campaigns.
14. Impact moral in the ranks of the Obama/Socialist faction by making reference to elections and how much time they have left. But use subtly and suggestion so the thought enters their mind without YOU having to say anything.
15. Link your reports using the quotes from legit targets in such a way that it serves to taunt the Obama/Socialist appointees. I.e. “Target #10 said all his friends are voting against the Obama/Socialist this election. They'll NEVER make that mistake again!”.
16. Don’t get caught! Your main objective is to delay and harass until your friends are safe from persecution, THEN… you can go back to protecting the US the way it should be done.
Good Luck, and Good hunting! - WasabiBomb, on 07/14/2009, -2/+6Haven't you heard, enantiodromia? Bush is no longer a Conservative. Never mind the fact that Conservatives elected him- TWICE. He is no longer a Conservative, and therefore, Conservatives can't be blamed for his actions.
And we've always been at war with Eurasia. - lostlyrics, on 07/17/2009, -0/+4take the bull by the hand and avoid mixing metaphors
- lostlyrics, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4and I am an old tree
so they better don't boar me
- my bark cAn be noisy ... :D - Propethic, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5The Patriot act will never go away, no matter how many years of complete peace there are. Why would the government close a giant loophole that oppresses it's own people and protects nobody?
- enantiodromia, on 07/13/2009, -7/+11So your argument is, since so many politicians break then law, we should not bother prosecuting them?
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -3/+7"Obama will get you lower taxes after he..."
I lol'ed - thegrantman, on 07/14/2009, -0/+4Really?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/16/us/16nsa.html - Homerr, on 07/13/2009, -6/+10So far as we know it is really:
Authorizing illegal spying= 0% chance of impeachment.
Getting a BJ in the office=100% chance of impeachment
Now there may have been someone else that got a BJ in the Oval Office that throws this out of whack. - OrangeBob, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4I do a road hog
- Barackalypse, on 07/14/2009, -1/+5How would we know exactly? They probably consider the extent of the spying a "State Secret" and thus not anything they have to report to us about.
- enantiodromia, on 07/14/2009, -3/+6why is it that during the election cycle, Obama was "omg the most LIBERAL senator in the country!", and now it's "Obama has voted in lockstep with Bush & Co"
- Travelsonic, on 07/14/2009, -2/+5"Why people assume Obama is willing to change any security policies is beyond me"
I think the key issue is that Bush shouldn't be getting off the hook just because Obama is now taking on the load. - cloviejr, on 07/13/2009, -3/+6Way to take a timely stand on the issues, Conyers.
- denizen42, on 07/14/2009, -1/+4A bit late !
