- kstein1110, on 06/15/2009, -1/+14...real cool move.
- peheimbach, on 06/16/2009, -0/+11Eh?
What was that I was hearing about Twitter's lack of relevance & purpose from the MSM commentariat recently?
Might want to rethink it, if you haven't yet.
And many good karmic returns to NTT America Enterprise Hosting Services and Twitter. - sarahlee, on 06/16/2009, -0/+7Classy move, twitter!
- blairmiller, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4I already loved Twitter for the tools it brings me as a journalist that are now being realized by the situation in Iran, but this is something everyone should celebrate it for, whether you like to use Twitter or not.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4Mad props, twitter. I used to mock you and use your services ironically; then, only to compensate for Digg's shout removal.
Now, I think you're awesome. - mbrannon, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2Twitter's importance during the Iranian election has made it impossible to question the validity of the site's importance in modern media.
- plutonium45, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2Twitter Rocks !
But i think they should have more resources ...because we all love twitter ! - tjabif7, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2Kudos to Twitter! Indeed, the revolution will be Twitted/Twittered! Good going.
- LimeParrot, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2"Iranian activists made #nomaintenance the 3rd most popular tag today." Wow lol.
- jpsondag, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2(puts on tinfoil hat)
This whole Iran fiasco was obviously a huge ploy by NTT America for awesome advertising
(takes off tinfoil hat)
Seriously though very cool move by Twitter and NTT America.
Oh yea.....Twitter is misspelled.
--JP - angrykeyboarder, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2The thing about twitter is the MSM focuses on the "dumb" tweets (e.g. "I just ate a sandwich"). There are actually a lot of better uses for Twitter than that, but the MSM hasn't quite picked up on on it yet..
- nsanidy, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2Although I don't care for Twitter's services I cannot help but commend them for this.
Well done Twitter. - TheJimid, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Very responsible decision. They would be cutting off one of the only places that people are getting into from.
Good Feed to follow or check out. www.twitter.com/persiankiwi - bwishey, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1This story was already on the front page and this submission can't spell "Twitter". Buried.
- Mpwns, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1what we are seeing on twitter is the death of cable news. i would have never thought of twitter taking over MSM but it happened. i just wonder what is twitter gonna do when this is over, since they are now a major player in reporting the news now. also check out http://iran.twazzup.com/ best source of news for iran it has everything on one page.
- angrykeyboarder, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Yup. Very impressive
- meese, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Apparently Twitter postponed their maintenance in part because the Obama administration requested they postpone it:
