- sjsuarez, on 09/28/2008, -13/+739OMG - that was so funny. The scary part is that a lot of it was direct quotes!!
- ucbluman, on 09/28/2008, -9/+586this is the funniest thing snl has done in years, and they didn't even have to write half the jokes
- Dantewolfe, on 09/28/2008, -16/+384Funny but scary.
- kindablue, on 09/28/2008, -5/+272It falls into what Penny Arcade said about making fun of a clown. You almost couldn't write something more ridiculous than the original interview. Palin is the joke.
- POINT84, on 09/28/2008, -7/+252wow, those looked like outtakes from the original
- shan21, on 09/28/2008, -3/+210Are you kidding? Several of Tina Fey's lines are exact quotes from the actual Palin interview. The fact that you didn't realize that illustrates just how hilariously pathetic Palin's performance in that interview was.
The comment about sharing a maritime border with Russia and then the mindless sputtering about health care in the middle of an answer on the bailout-- that all happened. And she looked just as out of her depth in reality as Fey made her look in this skit. - WafflesID, on 09/28/2008, -8/+209Holy ***** *****.
I have a total crush on Tina Fey right now. - juicegd, on 09/28/2008, -6/+188goofy evolution museum. ROTFLMAO
- Semblance, on 09/28/2008, -2/+159They used some of Palin's actual sentences!
- ucbluman, on 09/28/2008, -4/+160nah, we rest easy knowing that sarah palin is keepin an eye on putin for us. send her back to alaska so the US stays safe!
- yarovlas1, on 09/28/2008, -4/+158"Katie I wanna use one of my lifelines"
1. SNL didn't even have to write the jokes
2. Which only means the VP candidate herself is a joke
3. Which means McCain, sadly, made the VP slot, a joke
I challenge any Palin supporter to defend her and convince me that Palin will make a great VP. After watching the Katie interview that is. - Jensyth, on 09/28/2008, -3/+152Hilarious. The only thing scarier than Palin and her horrendous attempt to blurt out all the 'keywords' the McCain campaign has been trying to cram her with the last few weeks is the fact that there are actually people in this country that don't see a problem with her!!
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -4/+143Even Tina Fey, as talented as she is, could not act stupid enough to be convincing as Sarah Palin.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+127Did she quote Palin word for word, there for a minute?
- jdelator, on 09/28/2008, -1/+109Why did the replay the cbs interview on SNL? I'm confused. I wanted to see Tina Fey.
- dn11, on 09/28/2008, -0/+100Pew Pew Pew
- Wakkyweed, on 09/28/2008, -6/+97Tina Fey is my ultimate smart/funny chick crush. She copied Miss Moose-in-the-headlights so perfectly my brain said, "Wait, was that the real Palin for a moment there?"
- jerrolds, on 09/28/2008, -3/+92Where's the skit? All i saw was the actual Palin interview, but with a laugh track overlaid for some weird reason...
- bluevillage, on 09/28/2008, -0/+89Is this the first time that comedy writers haven't had to write anything but just use the transcript? That was the incredible part of this!
- elfuego, on 09/28/2008, -0/+87When they can take her original words, change nothing, and still have it be the funniest sketch of the night, that's when you know... Palin's candidacy is, quite literally, a joke. It'd be a damned funny joke if it weren't for the fact that this woman has a legitimate chance of being that close to the presidency. As it is we laugh to keep from being scared.
- zephyear, on 09/28/2008, -1/+84actually, according to a recent study, conservatives are the ones who scare easier
- zerozed, on 09/28/2008, -3/+83fey = funny
palin ≠ funny - Rotzooi, on 09/28/2008, -2/+74Hilariously, the opposite is true - Republicans are more easily scared; science FACT:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ... - Depthfunction, on 09/28/2008, -2/+74I'm surprised that the McCain campaign hasn't tried to include "lifelines" as a feature in the VP debate.
- silvielisle, on 09/28/2008, -2/+69Just to make the Republicans sick, I'd do Tina Fey right now and I'm a chick!!! I love her and I love her Palin!
- ATCclears, on 09/28/2008, -1/+68http://www.thanksbutnothanks.com
- ucbluman, on 09/28/2008, -1/+65tell you what, why don't you watch the couric interview again and cry yourself to sleep at night
- SoldOutMatinee, on 09/28/2008, -1/+62Fey said that she wants to stop playing that character after Nov. 4. Let's help her out.
- eir574, on 09/28/2008, -0/+60I just watched it, too. Sadly, yes. You've probably already seen these:

If McCain had chosen a strong running mate, he still had the potential to change my mind and show me that he's still the man he was back in 2000. Maybe Palin will improve over the next couple of weeks, but she's definitely on a steep learning curve.
I also love the quote from Jimmy Kimmel: "President Bush met with John McCain and Barack Obama. John McCain showed up without running mate Sarah Palin, which is a shame because she actually has a lot of experience with financial matters. You know, she lives right next to a bank." - SheilaNoya, on 09/28/2008, -0/+59It's already clear that Sarah Palin has become a huge laughing stock all across America.
Now that the Bush administration has convinced everyone that America is facing the biggest crisis since the Great Depression, do the remaining Palin supporters REALLY want to have someone so clueless just one heartbeat away from becoming president? - ViralMonkey, on 09/28/2008, -1/+58Now that's an image.
- elfuego, on 09/28/2008, -2/+57Palin's actual position is "That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."
Those are her own words from the Couric interview. That's as true a representation as you can find. And it gives the impression that Miss South Carolina might've been a better pick for VP. SNL highlighted the ridiculous nature of her comments by presented them in a comedic context without needing to change a word (Fey wasn't verbatim, but she was close).
The point is, Palin's candidacy is a joke, and there's no more true representation of that than this sketch. - aralls, on 09/28/2008, -1/+56some of us have had that crush for years...
- sjsuarez, on 09/28/2008, -3/+57Are you serious? Palin is not smart, cannot put together a well thought opinion and I thought Tina Fey nailed it. It's scary that SNL didn't even have to exaggerate the interview, the real content was hilarious..SNL didn't even have to work that hard!
- shan21, on 09/28/2008, -2/+56@tjoiner: This is a comedy program. They are going to exaggerate the funny bits and create a caricature of anyone they lampoon. You shouldn't look for fair representations of anyone, democrat or republican, on SNL.
Besides, it was funny and Tina Fey always equals win. - WafflesID, on 09/28/2008, -1/+53We'll see who's laughing when communist moose are marching through alaska to take over the country...
- okayokayokay, on 09/28/2008, -5/+55Tina Fey's skit RULED! The debate skit later that night DROOLED.
SNL's debate skit was AWFUL! And I'm not just saying this because it was hard "satire" of Obama. They didn't even make an ATTEMPT at satire in the debate skit. To be satire, it has to be at least partly based in reality.
That's what made the opener PERFECT - it took the truth and ran with it to its logical conclusion. Her actual interview was so ridiculous they didn't even need to change her words for it to be funny.
The Obama/McCain portrayal on the other hand was just a collection of lazy (and frankly, offensive) cheap jokes to give the impression of "balance." - seddyei, on 09/28/2008, -1/+50Hahahahaha Loneranger don't get your panties up in a bunch. This is a hilarious video, with the best part being IT USES ACTUAL LINES FROM PALIN'S ACTUAL INTERVIEWS! Come on, defend her, please do it.
- silvielisle, on 09/28/2008, -3/+51Tina Fey nails her again!!
- seddyei, on 09/28/2008, -0/+45Apparently tnjoiner has no idea what SNL is.
- raydeen, on 09/28/2008, -0/+43!= would have also been acceptable.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+41Dugg for using the '≠' sign.
- powermonay, on 09/28/2008, -0/+39AWESOME! Can't wait on next skit.. The VP Debate
- Scr4tchFury, on 09/28/2008, -0/+39Does this interview get Miss Teen South Carolina 2007 off the hook?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww - camilos007, on 09/28/2008, -1/+40Facts don't matter to right wingers. That's a fact.
- macaca, on 09/28/2008, -3/+41Democratic process of Diebolt?
- fantasmacanino, on 09/28/2008, -0/+38And science is for elitists and is ungodly, so they don't like that, either.
- weech, on 09/28/2008, -1/+38seriously this is ***** scary as *****...Fey basically just said exactly what Palin actually said plus some stuff added.
just think, a month ago palin was living her own little life trying to cover up all her own scandals, and next thing she knows she's on SNL and the laughing stock of the world...sucks to be her family..tho with their ***** up names they're probably used to it. - dbrodbeck, on 09/28/2008, -3/+38Digg is a 'left wing blog'? Wow, I had no idea. We must ask krose if this site is using wordpress as the backend...
Blatant hate? Come now, the woman is a moron that cannot answer a question from Katie Couric. Katie Couric for christ sakes, not Mike Wallace. Hell, Couric clearly made her nervous.
You may like Ms. Palin which is fine. However, you might want to take a look at the facts some, and at the borderline nutjob and trophy wife your party has nominated. Do you really want someone who does not even know her own party's positions on issues to have her finger a heartbeat away (some nice metaphor mixing there...) from the button? Do you really want someone who denies rape victims the right to an abortion to have any decision making power? Do you want someone that denies evolution by natural selection? Please just think a little. Just a little.
