- booksnmore4you, on 10/05/2008, -18/+1196Awesome story.
Character is who you are when no one is looking. - voxlisa999, on 10/05/2008, -19/+737That is such a great story. Thank you for translating it for us. I think it matters how we behave when no one's looking, so to speak.
- dBass, on 10/05/2008, -29/+652McCain: "This just proves Sen. Obama palls around with Americans who have left their own wonderful country to marry foreigners. Sen. Obama just doesn't understand®. Plus, my friends, why didn't he give her $200 bucks? Only a lousy $104.00".
- soapandfoam, on 10/05/2008, -29/+587I believe it. Completely, you know why?
cause honestly, Norwegians seem like the kind of people who really wouldn't *****. - Emmabell, on 10/05/2008, -30/+574I want this man leading our country!
- lockewasright, on 10/05/2008, -16/+335Remember this story while McSame and Caribou Barbie try and slander this man for the next month. Refer people to this article. Send the link around in emails. Don't let the lies go unanswered.

- Garofoli, on 10/05/2008, -12/+304Random acts of kindness are best from the unexpected.
- an0nymous, on 10/06/2008, -6/+259I don't agree with Obama on a lot of things, but he is indisputably a decent fellow. It's a shame that those who oppose him can't acknowledge that.
"He's a really nice guy with whom I have ideological differences".
Is that so difficult? - mgraham80, on 10/05/2008, -10/+261Also! Norweigans are socialists. Barack Obama sympathizes with socialists and, therefore, with socialism. Isn't that right, Comrade Obama?!?
- shupy, on 10/06/2008, -10/+218I visited a farm market in Ohio today. Obama's motorcade stopped their on August 5th. Everyone at the market was completely awed by Obama. He talked to people, he listened to people. He bought a half peck of peaches and a bag of apple fritters. The folks that run the market had a little display of the pictures they each took standing next to Obama.
But most of all, it shows that Obama connects with average people. No one thought he was Elitist, and everyone thought he was the genuine article. A true natural leader, something we haven't seen in a long time. - rebotfc, on 10/05/2008, -16/+216Thanks for posting this story, Obama really has class.
- q00u, on 10/06/2008, -6/+191"Character is who you are when no one is looking."
Apparently, my character is "Masturbator". - whit4brains, on 10/05/2008, -17/+190Barack is a man of integrity and compassion and it shows.
- BlueDjinn, on 10/05/2008, -12/+170Countdown for the smear campaign against this woman and her parents by the Freeper crowd in 3, 2, 1...
- mishelly888, on 10/05/2008, -17/+158You don't have to convince me that Barack Obama is just a good human being all around. But it's always wonderful to have my knowledge confirmed.
- samirms, on 10/05/2008, -12/+143Change I can believe in.
- kaosethema, on 10/05/2008, -20/+142wow, so dugg!!
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -13/+134so not only is the man politically fit, not only is he insightful and resolute, and not only should he be voted for the president of the united ***** states, but he also helped a girl in her time of need years before he was probably even thinking of running for the job.
obama 0 ***** 8 - nicheplayer, on 10/06/2008, -14/+133Yeah, well, what about all the hookers and strippers McCain supported when he was in the military?
- dinot, on 10/06/2008, -2/+120My sarcasm detector is working properly, so I'll digg you up.
- basye, on 10/05/2008, -7/+121Character is what a person does when nobody is looking.
We need a man of character in the White House to lead us! - HarryRag, on 10/06/2008, -8/+114"-He was nicely dressed, fashionably dressed with brown leather shoes, a cotton shirt open at the throat and khaki pants, says Mary."
More proof that Obama is an elitist! /sarcasm - powatom, on 10/06/2008, -1/+106Obama needs to step up his game if he ever hopes to beat ***** in the next round.
- kev0476, on 10/05/2008, -10/+115Its the little things that show someone's character.
- bcamp1973, on 10/06/2008, -0/+98"Character is who you are when no one is looking."
...i'm so *****... - Olon97, on 10/05/2008, -1/+99Some 20 years ago, before starting Harvard Law (after making squat as an organizer), Obama volunteers to help a random stranger who somehow didn't have enough money for her flight to Norway (extra baggage charge). Just from overhearing her conversation with the Airline staff.
Random stranger finds out it's the same Obama running for president now and tells her parents to vote for him. They write Obama to thank him for his kindness 20 years ago and he remembers their daughter.
Bottom line: long before he entered politics, Obama was the kind of guy who does nice things for people even when nobody is paying attention and there is no reason to expect a reward. - TheEndlessFeed, on 10/06/2008, -2/+90No it's true, vikings don't ***** man.
- mariathepirate, on 10/06/2008, -12/+98Obama's so sweet, he makes my teeth hurt.
Keep it up, Obama. - disrupter, on 10/06/2008, -16/+101Well McCain did good things too! Like being a ***** *****
- birdly, on 10/06/2008, -13/+96"I am my brother's keeper. I am my sister's keeper."
- Obama - a23y1, on 10/06/2008, -1/+82I would have to say you missed the point to this story %100
- john2kx, on 10/06/2008, -2/+80$103 I can believe in.
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/06/2008, -4/+79The actions that speak the most about a human being are those actions one makes... when no one else is looking.
Proud to say - I'm not surprised to read this story at all... but what a warm and wonderful story it is nonetheless.
Change we can believe in. A human being we can believe in..... - john2kx, on 10/06/2008, -3/+75Wasn't it $103?
I'm totally donating that exact amount to his campaign.
(when I can find a spare $103) - Nitrouz, on 10/06/2008, -4/+74This is the measure of a truly good person. Someone that does things to help others without expecting anything in return.
- TVarmy, on 10/06/2008, -0/+64Good friend, BARACK OBAMA has met me at an aeroport. I told him I was on hard times fiscally and would not afford to send my beolngs to my brother's. He decided to advance the sum of 9 MILLION EUROS to my home bank account. Unfortunately, I cannot make the conversion fees to put them into US DOLLAR for the baggage fees. Should you forward my account 9000$ I would be glad to forward you 1.75 million.
Thanks and God bless good friend. - thegamingguy, on 10/06/2008, -7/+69Barack is a good egg!
- alfbolide, on 10/06/2008, -0/+61I am John McCain and I approve this message.
- GregFD3S, on 10/06/2008, -0/+61Dugg for "®".
- NathanielJ, on 10/06/2008, -2/+63If he supposedly helped out a Nigerian on the other hand...
- jerrym123, on 10/06/2008, -4/+63Interesting factoid. Back in 1988 while Obama was busy performing this random act of kindness for a desperate traveler whom he would have most likely never have heard from again, John McCain was busy in 1988 trying to deflect attention away from his direct involvement with Charles Keating as one of the Keating five which until recently was the costliest taxpayer funded financial bailout in U.S. history.
- SyntraFTW, on 10/06/2008, -1/+60Take your silly shots at him all you want, you know what he said is true.
- ebcreasoner, on 10/06/2008, -0/+55damnit stop fapping
- cpathree, on 10/06/2008, -5/+60I would like to suggest to anyone who hasn't yet read "The Audacity of Hope' to please do so. I was so impressed with Senator Obama's critical understanding of both our country's history and the legacy that we must honor and improve upon. The book also reveals his truly honorable character, his intellect, and his deep empathy for others. He is a man of true grace. Our country and the world needs him.
- peaceofpie, on 10/06/2008, -3/+57And that is usually driven by something deeper and greater, a kind of universal love.
- dinot, on 10/06/2008, -2/+56Your trolling skills need improvement. Needs more random use of caps. The frothing at the mouth bit was well done though.
- sskkambad, on 10/06/2008, -2/+54McCain: "This just proves Obama started his campaign to be President 20 years ago! It's all part of his conspiracy!"
- HarryRag, on 10/06/2008, -4/+56"but it could have been a completely different "Barack Obama""
Yeah, I hear there are a lot of Barack Obamas living in Kansas. - an0nymous, on 10/06/2008, -6/+57...
A different Barack Obama who happens to be a United states Senator?
O_o
This has to be a joke. -
