- ssjdoob, on 09/18/2008, -2/+42We can do this! We need a REAL change in this country!
- INeedAttention, on 09/18/2008, -2/+34Anyone but Obama or McCain in '08...
- JByrd, on 09/18/2008, -2/+28Even if you don't wind up voting for a 3rd party candidate, contribute anyway. The two party system is unfair and often leaves many people (including me) on the outside looking in. A marketplace of varying ideas is necessary for a healthy society, political or otherwise. Competition is a good thing!
- CurtisLow101, on 09/18/2008, -2/+21" ssjdoobssjdoob: We can do this! We need a REAL change in this country!"
+1 - quakefiend, on 09/18/2008, -3/+20Also, Chuck Baldwin is the only presidential candidate who actively campaigned and endorsed Ron Paul.
http://www.baldwin08.com - quakefiend, on 09/18/2008, -5/+20everyone, please research and consider Chuck Baldwin. He is the closest in philosophy to Ron Paul. I think the only reason RP hasn't endorsed him is because he doesn't want to endorse a member of another party as long as he is trying to change the GOP back to its traditional roots. Consider - Chuck Baldwin is every bit as good or better than Barr, without the baggage.. and the Constitution party has grown larger than the Libertarian Party.
Check Chuck Baldwin out, if you don't like him, hey it's a free country. http://www.Baldwin08.com - bokababe, on 09/18/2008, -2/+17Diggobamanation,
Is your finger stuck on the "post it" button or are you just trying to be "an Obama cheerleader" at everyone else's expense? If it's the latter, your candidate deserves better than you because you just convinced me to support this 3rd party unity, when I had been otherwise apathetic! - jessejames2, on 09/18/2008, -2/+16Here's my recommendation: either vote for a 3rd party candidate OR vote for a congressman and do a non-vote for the president to show up in the percentages.
- nayten, on 09/19/2008, -0/+12...where in our constitution, bill of rights, or declaration of independence does it say anything about a two party system?
- telefriend, on 09/18/2008, -2/+14I'm in, too -- Anything to dethrone the duopoly!!
- FlashX12, on 09/19/2008, -1/+11Its crazy that a nation with 300 million has to decide between 2 people and pick one who will lead them for the next 4 or 8 years. Plus inviting third party candidates to the debates would spice it up, rather than an hour long:
"Did you call my running mate a pig?" childish discussion. - Junpei, on 09/18/2008, -1/+11I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I'm voting 3rd party if only to make a stand against the 2 party *****.
- foned, on 09/18/2008, -1/+11I think we all need to take a look back at every election we can remember. For me unfortunately its only about 2 or 3, and every time it winds up being 2 candidates we hear about everywhere we go, we never hear of a third or a fourth, and every time both candidates are terrible and we have to choose the one which is the least horrible. I for one would rather support a third party candidate, even if its a wasted vote. because I know both candidates are awful, and i don't want to be responsible for helping either one.
- MrXfromPlanetX, on 09/18/2008, -3/+12I listened to a couple of people from the Constitution Party speak last night, and I was very disappointed. One man said the Republic was setup so when people lost morality, the government would do what was best for them, and not be swayed by the masses on issues like gay marriage and civil unions.
Another guy said this is a Christian nation, Christ is God, and this land follows his law. This applies to people of all faiths whether they are Catholic, Baptist, Mormon, or Jewish.
What this guy didn't get was most Baptists think Mormons are pagans and are going to hell. They protest in Utah all the time.
Jews do not think Christ is God, or the Masai. If any Jews had actually been there, they probably would have been ticked off, or just annoyed.
What about people who are Wicken, or even Atheists?
Instead of the Constitution Party saying you have to be Christian to be in their party, they should say, her are our values and we think they are good for everyone no matter what religion they are. The only problem is they believe in freedom unless it's an issue that offends them, and then they want to cram their idea of morality down your throat.
To get beyond all of our religion related problems, we need to take the advice of Os Guiness.
In this C-Span video Os states, we need to change the argument to “You respect my rights, and I intern will respect yours.”
http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?ma ...
I respect everyones freedom of speech. If a Baptist wants to stand on the sidewalk and tell me I'm going to hell, I believe that is his right. If Mormons want to stick the Angel Moroni on the side of the road, or Catholics a cross, or the Atheists a big red A, so be it.
I believe people can have values whether they are Catholic, Mormon, Evangelical, Jewish, Wicken, Buddhist, or Atheist.
We have a religious and a culture war in this country that might destroy it. That's what Os Guiness was writing about in “A Case For Civility.” People on both sides should hear this man out. - BlueCalico, on 09/18/2008, -2/+11Go away, Obama supporter. Go freak out about Palin and worry yourselves into a tizzy over a VP candidate instead of taking on real issues.

http://baldwin08.com/ - DFF777, on 09/19/2008, -2/+10I'm going 3rd. To Hell with McBama.
- Archos, on 09/19/2008, -1/+9I do understand American politics.
I don't sympathize with American politics of today. - muckemuck, on 09/19/2008, -2/+9This http://breakthematrix.com/content/Uniting-the-thir ... is what should be done. Dump all of the money into ads to educate the public that they CAN and SHOULD go vote on Nov 4th if they are fed up with the two parties. The media is working furiously 24/7 to reinforce to the American people the myth that there are two and only two choices for President. Any effort should be along the lines of what Ron Paul was suggesting - that the majority of people in the US are NOT happy with the two parties and if they all went and voted third party then the politicians and the media would be forced to recognize them.
- schif, on 09/19/2008, -0/+7The republicrats and democans monopoly on the electoral process must be broken.
- Tiak, on 09/18/2008, -2/+9...Which would be illegal...
- larissa13, on 09/19/2008, -1/+8I understand American politics and thats exactly why Im voting 3rd party! The two party system isnt about America at all. Its about right v. left and its rapidly deteriorating this country.
- rancher89, on 09/18/2008, -2/+8NOTA --"none of the above" is catching on also, we need more choices and people need to know that the lesser of two evils is stil and always will be EVIL. Some states, like NC and OK make it very difficult for a third party to even be on the ballot, Most third parties spend all their money on getting signitures---when they could be spending that fiat money on getting their message out.
"There is another choice" - inactive, on 09/18/2008, -4/+10I am going to hold my nose, point, and vote for the candidate closest to my finger... that is not a Dem or a Republican. At least this shows I am fed up.
- Ventura2012, on 09/19/2008, -2/+8I dugg down each one of diggobamanation's posts and clicked the report button on each one. This is blatant spam. It sounds like the Obamallamas are getting desperate to convince more of their Socialist paradise.
- BlueCalico, on 09/18/2008, -1/+7It's theoretically possible for one of them to win and agree to bring into their cabinet the other 3. Problem - every one of them have to "get over themselves" in order for that to happen. We saw the obvious power struggle a week or so ago. Somebody's gonna have to grow up and apologize so they can all start over with a blank slate.
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -1/+7Let's do this! Let's show America that we don't have to choose from a false dichotomy this 2008 election!
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -1/+6sportsstar67- you also predicted that Ron Paul would lose his seat in the House in the Texas primary. He won that primary by a three to one margin beating your candidate Peden.
You have zero credibility. You have been booted from digg three times under three other digg accounts for being a jerk.
The fact that you refuse to admit that proves you are nothing but a liar and scammer.
Nobody pays attention to what you write other than to laugh at you, as I do, whenever you post some prediction or silly statement.
There will be a third party that will make a difference and you will be the one crying on elections day when your candidate finishes third. - sindex, on 09/19/2008, -1/+6The only problem with this is that Bob Barr's ego won't let this happen unless he's the one who everyone rallies behind. Remember, he's not going to share the spotlight with "people like Mckinney." Libertarians are free to vote for whom they wish, but their nominated candidate won't be backing down from the election to throw support behind anyone else.
- quakefiend, on 09/18/2008, -1/+6I respect you getting offended on some of the talking points of members of the constitution party. However, I challenge you to think about which party you will be more free under: those who respect and uphold the constitution, which allows freedom of religion, or the one party system of Republocrats who daily ignore, smear, and misuse the constitution? Not to mention, the two major parties ALWAYS push for legislation at the federal level, which as Ron Paul points out is never good because at some point your opponent will come in and abuse the power you meant for good. So - despite personal beliefs, the constitution party is best suited to protect the rights of those who disagree with them.
- lostangelonline, on 09/19/2008, -1/+5i strongly support the idea; and i also support Ron Paul as the 3rd United-Party's candidate
- Archos, on 09/18/2008, -3/+7Is it theoretically possible to merge the four parties into one single third party just for this election? They'd integrate very well, psychologically and thus politically. They represent the four different temperaments of the voters. http://www.keirsey.com/presidents.aspx
The libertarian Bob Barr is a Rationalist, the independent Ralph Nader is an Artisan, the green Cynthia McKinsey is an Idealist, and last but not least, the constitutional Chuck Baldwin is a Guardian. Patriot Ron Paul is a quite integrated man himself and operates from the center of the spectrum, bringing the four temperaments together on four essential issues.
I have much more to say about this, but I'd like to know if it's a possibility. - sindex, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4The Constitution Party may be suited to protect the rights of those who disagree with them, but so is the Libertarian Party. I personally will not, cannot, and believe people should not vote for a party that has specific religious beliefs as a party platform. If they modified or dropped principals 1 & 3 from their 7 Principals to actually include people who don't share their religious beliefs I'd be okay with them. As it is, they're about 2 steps from saying "America should be a theocracy" and that is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned.
I think they're fighting the good fight. I support their general message and their work. I just don't want to see politics and religion mixed, because we've already seen what that has done to the Republican Party and it's not a good thing. - bawitback, on 09/18/2008, -2/+6I'm also in for Chuck Baldwin
http://www.Baldwin08.com
But if he is not on the ballet, i'm voting for Nader. - Ventura2012, on 09/19/2008, -1/+5You must be stupid if you haven't researched it. CFL rings a nice bell.
Now you have been buried and reported yet again for spam. - alfsborg, on 09/20/2008, -0/+4We have two bad choices in the republicrats demonstrating the broken system.
- Archos, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4Then we have to force them to acknowledge their 'shadow' (their opposite ally) by taking away the amount of influence they have within 'the party' if they misbehave.
This can be done naturally by letting all paying contributors vote one of the candidates (without money) two or three weeks AFTER the money bomb.
The four candidates should pledge their allegiance to our campaign (the Campaign for Liberty?) by promising that if they receive the most money, i.e. win, they'll welcome the other three candidates into their party, collaborate on the four core issues and oppose one another once elected.
So before the money bomb there are four opposing candidates (debates focused mainly on the four core issues, held across the country, broadcast live on the internet with user interaction). Then after the money bomb we'll see how good the candidates are able to collaborate in the biggest and most important political campaign ever. The contributors then decide how much influence each of them would get within the cabinet by voting. Once elected, the four parties become more independent once again and besides collaborating on the four main issues, oppose one another on their differences.
EXAMPLE:
After the four candidates alleged their allegiance to our campaign and debated the issues, the Constitution Party wins the money bomb. Baldwin would become president once elected. Now their party welcomes the other three parties and they campaign together. It turns out that Ralph Nader doesn't collaborate very well and Chuck Baldwin didn't welcome the candidates as well as he should have. The contributors vote. The more votes a candidate receives, the more cabinet members he can choose and the higher his function. Bob Barr gets most votes and becomes the potential vice president. Chuck Baldwin gets second most votes and was already chosen to be the potential president. Cynthia Mckinsey gets is third and gets an important function. Ralph Nader ends last but still gets an important function.
Please tell me what you think. (if you've read it) - muckemuck, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4or Neither: http://www.voteneither08.com
And NC is just a joke when it comes to ballot access. The Libertarians spent about $250,000 getting on the ballot in NC and could have used that to advertise Mike Munger for Governor http://munger4ncgov.com/
If Bob Barr or Munger don't get 2% in NC this year (which might happen since they don't have money for ads and the media won't cover them) then the Libertarians will be kicked off the ballot again and have to pay to collect signatures to get ballot access yet again. It's a vicious cycle that the Demolicans have created. - BlueCalico, on 09/18/2008, -1/+4Diggobamanation, it is obvious (cough, cough) that you aren't a Ron Paul supporter. Go away and spend your time worrying about Palin. That's all you guys have been doing lately. Drives me mad.
Get a life. - ryanschmidt, on 09/19/2008, -1/+4I'm with you, Dru!
- blisswtew, on 09/20/2008, -2/+5Bob Barr has some good points, but he's a member of the ACLU. I'm going to go for Dr. Chuck Baldwin. Break the Establishment Matrix!
- th3lonius, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2You're an idiot. You think we all just want our money back from the federal government and we'll be appeased? It isn't that simple. Obama can cut as my taxes as he wants and he won't by my vote. I will only cast it for someone who really has a philosophy of government. Someone who addresses the real causes of our $9+ trillion debt, our bloated overseas presence, the welfare-warfare state, our relationship with Israel. If you can't see that both major candidates represent the status quo and that Obama's "change" is a continuation of decades of central economic planning and government paternalism then you are either immensely gullible, stupid, or completely ignorant of the issues.
- Ventura2012, on 09/19/2008, -1/+3Buried and reported for spam.
- splugg, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2Contact the Commission on Presidential Debates, every board member and co-chair along with their sponsors www.debates.org and ask them why they are complicit in this hijacking of America and why do they not support democracy. Ask Obama and McCain too, why do we have men and women dying abroad under the banner of "democracy" yet we were struggling to get it here, in an honest, open debate. Call them out on their schemes. Down with the Republicrat duopoly, truth and reason shall prevail.
15% national polling?!?!?! What a scam. Who runs those polls? Certainly not the American government. Candidates are hand picked by the same private organizations that run those phony polls. If candidate are on enough ballots to get the majority of the electoral college votes then they should be invited to debate. OPEN THE DEBATES! - Colindean, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2Holy crap, I totally thought that was recent until I got to the last sentence.
- Ventura2012, on 09/19/2008, -2/+4Obamallamas threw their money behind a bum steer. He may win, but the nation will continue its same trajectory except with a bonus NATIONAL SERVICE! Isn't that a plank in the Italian Fascist Party platform? Big government and national service.
Heil BHO! - Archos, on 09/19/2008, -1/+3To clarify: if one candidate doesn't collaborate with the chosen party (with us, with our campaign) after the money bomb, he/she will simply loose millions of voters and his and his party's potential position in the White House. Maybe if he/she totally abandons the campaign, we can hold a poll among the contributors to suspend him/her from the campaign entirely.
