- inactive, on 04/27/2008, -0/+3The deepest problem is self-censorship. We are afraid of what someone might say about us, so we moderate our speech.
Look at Mr. Tangaroa's comment here. Criticism of Isral or policies that favor Israel will often garner accusations of anti-Semitism. There is no worse epithet in the American litany. It immediately marginalizes the speaker and judges him guilty without trial.
So that makes it easy for the ADL and AIPAC et al to control politicians and the media. No-one wants to be labeled anti-Semitic in America, it is the kiss of death. That is why news producers will can stories that put Israel in a bad light, or show the truth about the West Bank. That is why neither the media or the Congress questions the ties of the architects of the Iraq War to Israel. Incredibly, that topic is hardly ever raised and the evidence is proudly posted on the Internet!
We are all terrified of being marginalized by being labeled anti-Semitic. - maxtangent, on 04/27/2008, -2/+5It is a damn shame you cannot raise questions about the government without being called a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist.
- inactive, on 04/27/2008, -1/+3Israel is not "Jews."
Al-Queso is not "Muslims."
America is not "Republicans." - Tangaroa, on 04/27/2008, -1/+3Sure you can. But when someone talks as if the Jews are the only people who have a lobby, that is racist. When someone says the Jews control the media and government, they are repeating Hitler's lies. When someone goes through lists of people on the side of politics they oppose and starts pointing out the Jews, that's really ***** racist.

Errrr.....
The whole point of the Walt and Mearshimer scientific study is to show that YES, ISRAELI LOBBY CONTROLS THE USA regarding its foreign policy re: Middle East.
Have a nice day, thanks for playing. - inactive, on 04/29/2008, -1/+1chico, you have a one track mind. It seems to me that you often see the problems but blind loyalty to the Democrats keeps you from seeing solutions. With the exception of marginalized politicians like D. Kucinich the Democrats are no different than the Republicans
